Forsaken Worlds - Chapter 13 Dunno 3
The blood pact complete unbeknownst to the newly formed family their three souls had formed a bond between them, a thin string like bond connecting directly to each of their souls going straight through their defenses.
Emotion a flutter in the air they hugged once more, a truly heart felt hug, this would be the beginning of their family.
“Then, let’s rebuild!” After a long while they finally separated, the soldiers outside had also begun working once more, and with it the village came to life once more.
Two days of rebuilding later on the far outskirts of the village tree’s were being broken and the sounds of furious running echoed all around, a huge group of survivors being chased in the direction of the village could be seen.
“Sonuva bitch! This bastard is still chasing us! It was just one egg!” Screaming this one of the women knocked an arrow onto her bow and did a somersault firing backwards, hitting the boar like creature on its hide doing zero damage.
“Fuck!” One of the men cried out, jumping onto a tree branch and swinging forward frantically.
“AHHH!!!!!!” Every moment another from this group of survivors would die under this beasts hoof the sounds of bones crunching echoing unceasingly.
“Snare!” It was then that a chilling voice broke through the screaming, and in the next second the ground broke apart revealing a pit of snake like vines biting into the beasts legs immobilizing it.
The beast started struggling and the vines which had easily held onto Jarxus started to tear and rip.
“Chaos Storm!” Another voice then came from the forest, the entire area suddenly went up a few tens of degrees so much so that had the tree’s not been mutated it would have started a forest fire.
Not a moment later the beast broke the snare and looked towards the source of the second voice but it was already to late to dodge, a hail storm of fire balls slammed into its face drying up its eyes and burning them out soon after.
“ROOAARR!”
The beast then started to blindly charge towards the place where the fire balls had come from.
But it was all in vain, though normally this creature using its strength and speed alone could run down pretty much everything in its path but this creature was still pleasurably hunting when it was ambushed and didn’t even get the chance to show off its true power before being blinded.
“Golem, destroy!” The first voice then spoke and the boar like creature immediately turned surprisingly agile for such a big creature charging straight at it.
“WATCH OUT!” One of the survivors yelled, seeing as the person was about to be impaled, this just adding to the beasts confidence.
Though not a second later this very same confidence was snuffed out like a fragile flame against strong winds.
“OOOOO!” Foren reached into his sleeve throwing out a fragile clump looking figurine, to the dismay of the survivors many looked away unable to see the person who was trying to save them be impaled.
But in the next second the very same fragile figurine expanded and morphed into a giant of ten meters tall, scraping the crown of the tree’s around it.
The golem then let out a fierce roar, catching the boar like beasts charge within its embrace, digging its heels into the ground the boar managed to push it back only five meters before losing all momentum and being stopped, and not a moment later the golem acted, a fierce glint igniting its aura.
With a fierce pull the golem lifted the over two ton boar over its head.
“ROAR?” The confused beast didn’t understand what was about to happen, and in the next second the golem impaled the boar on the sharp boulder next to it, the beast dying ignorant.
“Golem, pick it up and carry it back, we leave now, and you people follow us back unless you want to be food for the predators that will be rushing towards the smell of fresh blood.” Saying so the voice was lifted onto the golems palm and then placed on top of its head, getting a nice view on this twenty meter large golem.
At this moment a massive wolf also appeared at some point now standing next to the golem, walking in time with it, its head huge, teeth shiny and eyes cold, giving the survivors a small glance before continuing forwards.
“y…yes!” A moment later came the reply from one of the female survivors who quickly fell in behind the golem, her eyes filled with fear but also determination, looking at the boy sat atop the golems head and the wolf walking beside.
This led everyone else to do the same, falling in behind the boy and the wolf.
— Earlier —
“There seems to be a battle happening outside the village, I’ll send a few blood soldiers to investigate.” Sitting on top of the mansions roof alone, Aima spoke, her voice reaching the ears of both Noku and Foren who were quick at work commanding their own people.
“No, I’ll go investigate, I haven’t left this village in over a week!” Saying so Foren fired off a few commands and retrieved golem patting the stone dust and mud off his clothing, heading towards the small gate at the head of the village.
“Then at least take Noku with you.” Aima said again her voice worried.
“I would have gone weather he wanted me to or not, It’s been way to long since I’ve gone out and stretched my legs.” Saying so Noku dropped his own set of commands and moved away, and with a mighty shake blew all the grease and grime from his fur then walking next to Foren, making him look like a weak child.
“Then let’s go.” A quiet yet quick chant later and both Noku and Foren’s speed doubled, the two of them running out of the formation in a few seconds.
A few minutes later they arrived near the group of survivors, “…just one egg!”
“Fuck!” They could hear the survivors screaming more clearly the closer they got.
“Noku I’ll snare the beast you take out its eyes, I’ll handle the rest!” Within a second a plan was put in place and the two split up.
Taking a moment the two got into position and looked at the survivors judging them.
They were malnourished and weak looking, each of them with limpid eyes like that of a broken person, though what surprised the two was not this limpidness but rather the sparked will to survive within their eyes, each of them moving as fast as possible to escape.
The clothes on their backs ragged and their breathing hard each and every one of them still had a burning desire to live.
Good! I can use this. Thinking so Foren looked Foren in the eye and they initiated their plan.
“NOOO!!!!” Just as the beast was about to stomp on to another survivor Foren put his plan into action.
“Snare!” Speaking a low voice so as not to alert the creature his voice mixed with the screams and Foren then set off his trap amidst the confusion.
“Cough!” In the next second however he spit out a few blotches of blood of blood staining his sleeve.
This thing is so fuckin powerful! He thought, looking at where Noku was hiding, giving the signal.
“Chaos Storm!” His voice went out and with a hail of fireballs attacked, the entire area threatening to be set ablaze by the temperature.
By the time the beast noticed it it was already too late, the hail of fire had landed right on its face burning out its eyes.
“Golem, Destroy!” The golem that was previously a mere five meters tall over the course of two days and having absorbed a lot of extra materials from digging and rebuilding had now grown to be ten meters tall, a colossal thing that’s head was up in the branches.
“OOOO!” Letting out a battle cry the golem caught the charging boar skidding back a few meters, but ultimately stopping its charge.
With both hands under the boar and a bend of its knee’s the golem picked up the boar, lifting it high over its head breaking several branches in the process.
Without a moments delay the golem threw it a good few meters right onto a spiked boulder, impaling the creature.
“Golem, pick it up and carry it back, we leave now, and you people follow us back unless you want to be food for the predators that will be rushing towards the smell of fresh blood.” Saying so Foren hopped onto the golems hand and then onto its head, standing proudly, overlooking the tops of the tree’s.
“y…yes.” One of the women took the first step falling in line behind the golem, staring directly at Foren.
I can feel her looking at me! Though he was cool and his eyes cold it couldn’t stop small beads of sweat to form from being stared at by the mature lady.
“Are you sure we should bring them back?” Noku whispered, taking a glance back at the now formed group following them.
“It’ll be fine, their too weak to do anything to us anyways.” Foren replied, not even so much as glancing back at the survivors, focusing his senses all around them.
“If you say so.”
— A few minutes later —
“Your guys are back! That’s great, you even brought back that massive boar!” Aima said, waiting at the very border of the formation, looking at Foren on top of the golems head as well as Noku walking beside it.
“Who are they?” Aima then asked.
Jumping off the golem and ordering it to deposit the boar near the mansion Foren responded, “They are the people we just saved from being killed.”
“Okay.” Aima said.
“Then shall we introduce ourselves?” Noku said.
“Let’s” Foren replied looking towards the people who were now completely assembled in front of them making for a large crowd, the smell nearly over powering.
“I’m Foren Malum, nice to meet you all.” Saying so Foren gave a small bow.
“I am Noku Malum, a pleasure.” Noku said stepping forward.
“And I am Aima Malum, I control the formation you have all just stepped into.” Aima said.
“AHH!” Making the formation visible to them, the sky was dyed a horrifying shade of red.
“Sorry, I forgot that it might be a bit scary for normal people to see that sort of thing.” She said, looking at the scared crowd, making a mental note about a few who were not afraid of the pressure she released.
The crowd then burst in whispers and gossip, many talking about how ‘inconsiderate’ and ‘rude’ she was for doing that so suddenly, and of course with the level of power that the three hold they could hear each and every one of their complaints clearly.
The eyes of both Noku and Foren quickly sank emitting pressure so as to quiet everyone.
“I did not decide to bring you all back so you could complain, and we will not be feeding free loaders, each of you will have to work if you want to stay.” Saying so Foren’s voice dropped a few degrees, his eyes scanning the crowd for anyone holding dissatisfaction.
“And as for the people who were insulting our Aima, the lot of you can leave right now, we don’t need you.” Noku then stepped forward, his fur standing on end, sparks dancing all around him, his voice low, and his breathe lightly scorching the ground beneath, clearly threatening to take action at a moments notice.
At this statement the crowd was thrown into yet another wave of whispers, but unlike before this quickly devolved into an uproar among the people.
“What?!?! Your just going to abandon us because of something so petty?!?!” The first to speak out was one of the people who had previously insulted Aima.
“We are all fellow humans! The world is too dangerous for us now, you must help us its your duty as fellow humans!” The next to speak out was a middle aged man, his hairs turning white at the ends, behind him stood several people of varying ages.
“We are not with them.” The last to speak was a women with a bow, taking a few steps away from the other two groups a small crowd followed her consisting of about twenty people, all of them with weapons, their bodies robust and many carrying injuries.
At this point upon hearing all of this the air changed, the group of survivors easily reached the one hundred and fifty mark, of which twenty were neutral with the rest deciding to side against them.
At some point the blood soldiers, wolves, and golem had stopped doing work and had instead surrounded the group of survivors.
“If you want to stay here you must earn your keep and follow our orders to the letter even if that means going into the jaws of death, but know this, we will never give you a suicidal order, however should you join and refuse an order there will be no mercy.” Finished speaking Foren let his aura run wild in the air around him sending chills through the crowd.
Though he’d been good natured to Aima and Noku this did not change his core, he had been living on the streets for years forced to scavenge and steal for even the smallest scrapes to eat, and he did not survive this long by being generous, cruelty had served him well in the past and it would serve him again.
“So what’s your decision? Join, leave, or try and fight us for this place.” Next Noku spoke, his voice exceedingly cold, he never wanted to bring them in, he knew that this would happen, his heart having been scarred by betrayal the moment he was abandoned.
“You have a ten seconds to decide.” Finally Aima finished speaking, she had heard them insulting her and though she was mad it wasn’t much to her, but seeing as her two brothers had decided to cull them she decided to play along.
