Forsaken Worlds - Chapter 15 Battle
“Marx, Kurun, go and take their leaders heads and avenge your brother Jarxus, do not fail me.” The being spoke, it’s voice low and cold, fear flashing through their eyes at the thought of failure.
With the suns light beating down a fierce kind of radiance the two armies collided, the golems annihilating their front lines and digging into their ranks soon followed by the skeletons, this marking the start of the melee.
“Yes, Master.” The two then flashed out heading towards Noku and Foren.
“Snare!” Seeing the anomaly Foren launched a wide scale snare all around the area catching nearly two hundred skeletons within along with the two, Marx and Kurun though they soon tearing free.
The two hundred unfortunate skeletons that were also caught were destroyed instantly by the steel like grip of the vines.
Soul Blades! Weightless movement~
The moment the two showed themselves Foren accelerated disappearing from his spot and reappearing right next to Marx, swinging down his improved soul blades.
“HONG!” Reacting almost instantly he drew his sword to block, knowing that the attack failed Foren tried to draw back but Kurun was already behind him stabbing forward.
Twisting his body Foren managed to dodge a fatal hit but was still stabbed through the shoulder before managing to get some distance.
“Sun fall!” From far away Noku was running over at max speed garnering the attention of the two for a split second, but that was ll the time Foren needed.
Snare!
The vines broke through the earth, these ones being a purplish color different from the green ones before, these ones did not break as easily, by the time they had managed to get free Foren and Noku were standing next to each other, a small smile cresting their faces.
Release! Foren thought and in the next second the entire area was filled with heat like magma, looking up they soon realized why.
The fireball from suns fall had reached them, and this one was much bigger than before accompanied by many other smaller fire balls, unfortunately for them because of Foren’s illusion it was already too close to dodge.
“Fuck! Marx, use that thing or we both die!” Kurun screamed getting behind Marx drawing his sword to his neck.
“Fine!” He screamed pulling out an ordinary looking block of wood from his chest armor, the words ‘life’ inscribed upon the block.
The moment he pulled it out it was as if everything had turned a different shade of beautiful, the tree’s seemed more lush and the grass more vibrant.
“Release, Life protection!” Screaming just before the fireball hit a sudden vibrant green shield poured out of the block and wrapped around the two of them.
A few tense seconds later the smoke cleared and the two appeared within the cracked green bubble with residual flames still lingering around it, completely unharmed.
“Damn! You two really want to kill us!” As the shield was brought down Kurun was first to speak, his voice furious.
“Obviously!” Noku shouted back, equally furious that his strongest attack didn’t work.
With that as the signal both sides kicked the ground and went back into hand to hand combat, fighting all over the landscape never losing sight of one another.
High above the clouds standing with its piercing silver eyes the creature that had helped them stood leisurely watched the fight below a light mist hiding its figure, the only visible thing being its silver eyes, interest flickering within.
Several hundred meters beneath him stood the dark being watching the entire battle and frowning immensely.
To put it in a word the battle below was going awful for him, the golems were taking down his skeletons in swathes of tens, thousands going down every few minutes.
Not to mention the blood soldiers in the sky shooting down a seemingly infinite amount of arrows destroying all of his special units before they can make an impact.
His army of fifty thousand had now been shredded down to forty two thousand in the course of a few minutes, but that is not to say that Aima hadn’t received casualties, on the contrary all the skeletons on their side had been destroyed a few seconds after the initial clash.
It was now just the three main forces, the blood soldiers, the golems and the wolves, of the three right now the wolves were in the most dire straights, the intense battle and nonstop usage of their abilities was exhausting the only silver lining for them was that the twenty who had recently joined were helping them to fight.
Looks like i’ll have to do that. Thinking so Aima closed her eyes moving her consciousness into the basement of the mansion, looking at the stone dummies she had stock piled for a pinch like this she gathered malice from all over the formation and implanted it into these soldiers, waking them up one by one.
One must know that this is a very power consuming move, because of this the size of the formation had fallen, the housing district now exposed.
“Soldiers of stone, attack!” At the bottom of the hill facing the skeletal horde the wall suddenly collapsed and sunlight bathed the basement for the first time, and with the sunlight came the terror of the stone soldiers as they charged forward, their steps trembling the ground each at a staggering two meters tall.
One hundred of them charged in and though that may not sound like a lot each of these stone soldiers are impervious to the weapons of the skeletons their stone outdoing the enemies steel.
“Argg!!” Screaming out Noku made a fierce push forward sending a tree flying towards Marx, but Kurun quickly intercepted it kicking it away, meanwhile Foren pushed off from a branch a few tree’s away.
Soul blades! Snare!
The air let out a whistling sound as his blades came down on Marx’s head, just an inch before striking however…
“HONG!” A glass barrier of sorts appeared around him blocking the strike, his face pale Kurun turned and intercepted Foren slashing at his stomach forcing him to twist his body deflecting the attack turning it from a fatal attack to a minor cut.
“Fire storm!” Noku then attacked while their attention was on Foren, a barrage of fire balls flying from behind tree’s all around them trapping them in a net.
“Shield!” Marx screamed as another barrier raised around himself but this time also encapsulating Kurun, his face now deathly pale.
Taking the opportunity while the fireballs blocked their vision Foren disappeared into the tree’s going onto the crown of a nearby tree waiting for an opportunity to ambush again.
Noku however had no intention of letting up and a few seconds later Marx’s barrier broke, and at that exact moment Foren moved, pushing off the branch of a red oak tree standing twenty meters tall he shot down straight at Marx.
Infernal Soul Blades!
At this moment he let out an upgraded version of soul blades that were several times more powerful than the normal ones, having waited through the fight for the perfect moment to unleash them for a certain kill.
“NO!!!” Right as Foren got close Kurun moved to block like he had done in the past but Noku raised a wall of fire between the two.
“SHIELD!!!” Marx screamed, a barrier not thicker than a cicadas wing coming up but that would not stop his soul blades.
“Kacha!” In the next breathe the barrier shattered and Marx’s head was sent flying through the air, his eyes still wide open in terror as his body helplessly slumped to the ground.
“NO!” His eyes turning blood red Kurun charged straight through the fire wall causing every hair on his body to be singed off and his skin to melt, reaching the other side Foren had no time to move before Kuruns blade made contact with his chest.
In a single breathe’s time Marx had died and Foren had been impaled.
“ARRWOOOO!!!” Noku then flashed forward towards Kurun, hatred deeply rooted in his eyes.
“HAHAHA!!!” Feeling his blade push through Forens chest he laughed insanely, swinging his sword in a large arc towards Noku, but such a rookie swing would not hit him, bypassing the swing Noku got close and chomped down on his head directly tearing it off and spitting it out.
“FOREN!” Running to him Noku started pushing him with his head doing everything to get a reaction.
Meanwhile within their minds Foren’s soul fire was quickly dying out, with no one to absorb it and its vessel, Foren, dying it had no choice to but dissipate.
At the same time however the souls of both Marx and Kurun entered and attacked so neither Noku or Aima’s soul fires had time to help the dying fire of Foren.
“Kakakaka, what a lovely show, truly a great view, but its time to pull the curtains on this charade, Now i will be wanting their souls back.” The being in the sky then spoke, and with a light tap of its foot disappeared from his position reappearing beside Noku and without warning attacked.
“NO!” However surprise flashed in the eyes of the being because it did not hit its target but rather a little girl, Aima, her heart now in his hands, with a pull his eyes flashed cruelly.
