From Dusk till Dawn! - Chapter 431
The next few days went a bit peacefully without Lan Xingyu’s attempts at seducing Mo Yuhan as her elder brother had kept her under control. On this particular day, Lan Xifan and Mo Yuhan went to the Mo Empires for a meeting while Lan Xingyu insisted on coming to Ash Corporations along with Tang Li as soon as she got to know her identity as the CEO.
Rather than having her cling to her man, Tang Li opted for this better option. Who knew that if she rejected this offer, Lan Xingyu would end up chasing after Mo Yuhan?
Ash Corporations.
Tang Li sat on the swivel chair as she took out her phone. Contemplating for a few seconds, she dialed a number. The call was answered towards the last ring.
“Zihan, what’s up with you? You didn’t call me even once during all these days? Are you fine?” Tang Li frowned. She was so busy that she didn’t get a chance to call him but usually her pufferfish would find a chance to whine to her from his side. He has been in S city for way too long yet there have been no updates about him till now.
“I’m fine, Sister-in-law. What about you?”
Her brows tugged together, “I’m good. Why is your voice so hoarse?”
“There is a lot of workloads. Su Corporations was in ruins when I took over as the directors were playing some tricks within. That’s why it’s taking me some time to get everything back on track. I’m just exhausted. Nothing much.”
Tang Li sighed, “Take rest. Your health comes first. You have a girlfriend to look after now.”
There was a silence on the other side.
“How is Yueyue? I saw the news about her retreat from the Entertainment industry. Brother told me that she was planning to do this for a long time already. But I could not contact her….”
“Sister-in-law, someone’s looking for me. Can I call you later?”
“Sure,” Tang Li could hear some shuffling sounds in the background before she hung up. She really missed her efficient Vice-President but then the day when she got to know Mo Zihan’s identity, she knew that he was going to leave Ash Corporations sooner or later.
The door to her office was kicked open as Lan Xingyu stepped inside before sitting on her office desk.
Lin Shi raised an eyebrow. After showing the company to the woman, the least she understood about her character was that Lan Xingyu was a nice person unless and until Tang Li came into the picture. She would turn into a bitch once Tang Li was mentioned.
”Mark will be here in a few minutes,” She informed the woman.
Tang Li nodded, “Let him come here to my office.”
“Alright.”
As soon as Lin Shi left, Tang Li glanced at the woman who was sitting on the office desk, “You don’t have the manners to knock?”
Lan Xingyu shook her head as she played with her hair.
“Get off. This is not your couch,” Tang Li’s brows tugged together as she glanced at the woman who had messed up her desk quite a bit.
“I won’t,” Lan Xingyu pushed away a file on purpose. She just got to know that this woman had OCD while she was looking around the company. And it felt oddly comforting to annoy her in this way.
Tang Li pursed her lips before grabbing the phone from the desk. She picked up the remote control kept on the desk and pressed a switch atop it. The glass desk shifted slightly. Lan Xingyu’s eyes widened but before she could get on her feet, the upper part of the desk tilted vertically, ruthlessly throwing her off to the floor as all the files on the desk landed straight on her head.
Tang Li glanced at her emotionlessly before pressing the button once again. The desk returned to its original place, ”Clean now.”
“You…”
“Hahaha…” Mark laughed out loud as he witnessed this epic scene as soon as he stepped inside the office room, “Never expected to see you like this one day,” He extended a hand towards her.
“Are you mocking me?” Lan Xingyu took his hand as she stood up.
“I am not,” Mark stifled his laughter.
“You informed my brother about my whereabouts,” Lan Xingyu glared at the man.
He raked his hand through his silver hair before walking towards Tang Li. He stood beside the swivel chair, “Friendship comes first.”
“We have dated once.”
“Oh come on, babe! We were just sleeping. That’s it. Don’t make it sound so romantic,” Mark scoffed.
“Whatever,” Lan Xingyu folded her arms in front of her chest, “Let’s go on a night out.”
“You look deprived and exhausted…sexually, physically and mentally,” Mark glanced at her from head to toe, “Unfortunately, I am taken. I won’t sleep with you.”
“I am not inviting you to sleep…wait..you are taken?”
“Emotionally taken,” After realizing that I am into men…especially one man. Mark cleared his throat as he promptly skipped the later part.
“Who is she? Have you guys fucked yet-?”
“Enough. Get out,” Tang Li massaged her brows.
…
In the headquarters of Su Corporations, S City.
‘Don’t look for me. I don’t want to see you anymore. Let’s break up.’
Mo Zihan glanced at the letter in his hand in a daze. The corner of his eyes turned red as he glanced at the ceiling, blinking slowly.
‘Knock Knock’
“Come in,” He tilted his head slightly.
Jiang Shu stepped inside. Her gaze roamed over the files strewn on the floor of the office room, “Brother Zihan, are you still not over her? Do you not believe me or simply refuse to do so?” She crossed her arms in front of her chest, “I saw her going inside the room with Li Shen. Li Shen admits that he likes her. And what could happen between a man and woman behind closed doors? Do they look like a simple platonic junior-senior to you?” She scoffed.
“Shut up.”
Jiang Shu did not bother to keep up her facade at this point. It was better to feed him with all the information as this was the time she was waiting for a long time, “It’s true anyway. Secondly, your family won’t accept someone from the entertainment industry for the position of your wife. And I investigated her. She is the daughter of a stripper. Her mother died a year before her debut. Has she ever told you about that? I think it is for the best that she left-”
“Get out,” Mo Zihan slammed his hands on the desk as he stood up, his cold gaze landed on the woman.
Jiang Shu flinched.
He narrowed his eyes.
“I-I’ll see you later…” She mumbled before walking out of the office room.
‘Bam’
‘Crash’
Mo Zihan flipped the glass desk before slumping back on his swivel chair, his heart thumping wildly.
He glanced at the letter on the floor for a few seconds before picking it up. A broken glass shard pierced his palm as he gritted his teeth. His blood stained the letter in his hand, “Since you want this, fine then. Stay wherever you are. I don’t fucking care.”
