From Dusk till Dawn! - Chapter 440
Tang Li was a bit uneasy at all the revelations that Mo Yuhan made but she was not that shocked. She had already assumed that all of what happened to the Tang Family might have something to do with her mother’s friend. What she never expected was that…the friend would turn out to be Mo Yuhan’s uncle’s wife, Mo Yi.
”But what really happened in the end? She was happily married to my Dad, wasn’t she? Then why did she suddenly disappeared without telling him? Why did Tang Corporation started falling? And how did she get involved in that accident?” These were the only questions that were left to be answered.
”Mo Yi has confessed,” He stroked her back, ”Calm down first…”
”Uh…I am very calm,” She sighed before leaning closer to him.
At that time, Tang Meili had decided to marry Song Tianyu, only to escape her father’s clutches as the man had complete control over her while she wanted to live her life freely.
But there were three things that she was not aware of. First, Song Tianyu’s identity. Second, his feelings towards her.
And third…
Her best friend’s feelings towards him.
Tang Meili wanted to use that marriage as tool to gain her freedom from her father while Song Tianyu had always ever wanted to marry her after their accidental night together. Initially, he was being responsible for her but later on it changed to love.
All this while, Mo Yi had her eyes on him.
So, Tang Meili marrying Song Tianyu did not only spiked her father, it also spiked her bestfriend who was initially reluctant to hurt her despite her motive.
Over the time, Mo Yi’s hatred for Tang Meili grew and in the end, she opted back to the path that her mother had laid out. Thoroughly destroying the Tang Family.
She caused a misunderstanding between Tang Meili and Song Tianyu during the time Tang Meili was pregnant with Tang Li. The couple were so in love in that time even though Tang Meili never revealed her real identity to anyone and neither did the Song father-son ever tried to look into her background.
When Song Tianyu was on a secret military mission, Mo Yi started working on her plan by sowing discords between them until the day came when Tang Meili finally accepted that Song Tianyu was cheating on her. Being the impulsive person that she was, she left the Song Family house and went back to her father, begging him to close off all the news about her.
Tang Cheng, who spoiled his daughter to no extents, used all his connections to block everything about her and nobody could get past the man’s connection, not even the Song Family.
Looking at his depressed daughter, he was even more heartbroken. Until one day, Tang Meili approached him to ask him to handover the company to her. She asked him to make her the CEO.
Knowing that his daughter had the capabilities of becoming a CEO, Tang Cheng did not hesitate in handing her the company. He expected her to get over her grief and he also stuck to his promise that he made to her that he will not interfere much in her private life.
Little did he know that his final decision will lead to the downfall of the powerful Tang Family.
Because as soon as Tang Meili took over the position of the CEO on her best friend’s suggestions, the second part of Mo Yi’s plan got successful and over the time, she started taking huge amounts of financial help from Tang Meili with the excuse that their family had a huge debt.
And Tang Meili kept messing with the company’s finances not knowing that the money was being used by Mo Yi on a investment company that she had started.
And Tang Cheng trusted his daughter so much hat he never looked into the company matters.
Till her last breath, Tang Meili believed Mo Yi was her best friend not knowing that it was the same best friend that caused her death.
Unlike the reactions that Mo Yuhan accepted from her, Tang Li was relatively calm.
”She was pathetic…” She emotionlessly said after a long time.
Mo Yuhan frowned, ”She is your mother.”
Tang Li tilted her head to look at him, ”Don’t you think things could have been different had she dealt with the situations rationally?”
Mo Yuhan pulled her into his arms as he sighed, ”Not every person is similar. Everyone has different characteristics. Let’s just say that she was too kind for this world…” His heart broke when her muffled sobs echoed inside the empty hospital room.
”I have always blamed her for everything t-that I and brother went through for her…Grandma passed away, Grandpa was hospitalized…” Tang Li gripped his shirt in her fist as her tears stained his shirt, ”Am I too heartless? I never realized it was her who has suffered the most…” She had realized it long ago but she…didn’t know what she should do. Ether to hate that woman who was her mother or pity her.
”Shh..” He grabbed her face before placing a soft kiss on the tip of her nose, ”You are not heartless. Neither you nor your brother deserved a harsh childhood like that and it is entirely not your fault. It’s just the mistakes and wrong decisions of their generation that came at us…” He wiped the tears off her face.
Tang Li sighed after calming down a bit. She realized she was losing control over her emotions lately. She shook her head, ”What happened then?”
Mo Yuhan kept stroking her back.
After Tang Meili’s death, Mo Yi went abroad to work on the investment company she had started and the Second Master Mo fell in love with her.
Mo Yi’s mother on the other hand was training Song Tianyi as a weapon against the Song Family. The past humiliation had left her at a moment where she seeked revenge at the cost of her life. She made Song Tianyi believe that she was his biological mother, and his father discarded her. She schemed a web of lies like how Song Jiren preferred Song Tianyu over him and he saved his elder so from the kidnapping incident while leaving him to die there. All of it was nothing but a lie and Song Tianyi easily believed the woman who saved him from the verge of death.
”…Infact, that time, it was just a miscommunication with the officers for which Grandpa Song was able to find Dad quickly while Uncle was left behind. The latter thought that he was abandoned and that woman used it to her benefits…” Mo Yuhan sighed at how complicated people can be. He has seen such things countless over the years but the complexities of human nature was always difficult to comprehend.
