From Dusk till Dawn! - Chapter 443
”Thank God, Li. You answered my call. I was dead scared that something really happened to you…”
Lin Shi’s eyes widened when she heard the familiar voice.
Tang Li poked her thigh with her toes, snapping her out of her shock.
”Hello, who is this?” Lin Shi cleared her throat as she spoke, loosening the blanket around the phone but she was sure that her voice would be unrecognizable.
”Who are you? This is my friend’s number…”
”I am Nurse…Nurse Lin from Mo Globals Hospital. I assume the friend you are talking about Miss Tang…”
”Yes. Why are you answering the call?”
”Miss Tang is in a coma. I was here to check on her condition when I found her phone ringing…” Lin Shi glanced at Tang Li who was mouthing something. Reading her lips, she nodded, ”…Dr. Mo’s office to collect Miss Tang’s report? Alright, I will be there right now…” She quickly hung up the call before patting her chest as she passed the phone back to Tang Li, ”That was scary.”
Tang Li grabbed her phone before looking through the CCTV footage that she had received from her team. She glanced at the woman who was standing in front of the hospital with panic apparent on her face and the corner of her lips tilted up even further.
”Did I miss something? You all seem happy about something?” Mo Zihan asked as he placed the phone in his pocket before stepping inside the room.
Tang Li raised an eyebrow as she stroked her stomach, ”That’s called the bliss of motherhood.”
Mo Zihan’s lips twitched as he pointed his chin at Mo Yuhan and Lin Shin, ”What about them? They also seem to be amused about something.”
Tang Li pointed her palm at Mo Yuhan, ”Bliss of Fatherhood,” She then pointed her chin at Lin Shi, ”Bliss of Aunthood.”
Mo Zihan was speechless, ”Alright, I will be celebrating the bliss of Unclehood then.”
Tang Li nodded indifferently, ”Sure,” She paused.
”How about you get her reports from Jia first?” Mo Yuhan glanced at him.
Mo Zihan frowned, ”Isn’t Jia coming here?”
”She has some work,” replied Mo Yuhan.
”Alright, I will get the reports from her. Where is she?”
”In her office,” Tang Li smiled.
”Uhh…Your bliss of motherhood is too bright,” Mo Zihan shook his head as he walked out of the hospital room.
Just after a few minutes, Mo Jia and Tang Yichen entered the room.
”It’s done, Princess,” Tang Yichen said as he flashed some keys at her.
Even Mo Jia made a thumbs up sign, ”Properly locked.”
…
As Mo Zihan stepped inside Mo Jia’s office, he found her seat empty. There was no one in sight. “Is she sleeping or what?” His twin sister tended to overwork herself at times and she would usually get some sleep in the room attached to her office.
As much as he did not want to wake her up, he decided to ask her where she has kept the reports. He forgot to ask his brother if it was urgent to get them right now.
Sighing softly, he walked towards her room before knocking on the door.
No response.
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, he heard some muffled sounds from inside. His gaze turned cold as he kicked the door open only to be greeted by the sight of a woman sitting on the bed with her entire body rolled in a blanket and tied from outside in bow. Her long hair glided down her back as she sat there with his back facing, struggling to remove the bow from her body.
He could only see her silhouette under the pale moonlight falling in the room through the window but he was sure it was not Mo Jia as his sister had short length hair. He noticed that the bow’s string was attached at her back in the blanket.
“Let me help you,” He said, making his way towards her. He decided the ask her later what was going on after helping her out of it.
The person on the bed froze.
Mo Zihan stood at a distance and casually unhooked the string and the bow fell down taking the blanket down with it.
The familiar figure…
He stepped back, blinking slowly.
He picked up the remote control from the bedside table and switched on the bedside lamps in the room.
Ying Yue picked up her scarf and shades from the bed, quickly trying to put them on but he grabbed her hand, dragging her out of the bed.
She stumbled but he grabbed both her arms, stabilizing her.
“Let me go,” She mumbled, averting her gaze.
Mo Zihan’s gaze turned cold as he tucked his hands in his pocket before stepping back from her.
Letting out a relieved sigh inwardly, Ying Yue grabbed her scarf and putting on her shades, she strutted towards the door after picking up her bag from the floor. Just as she turned the doorknob, the door did not budge at all.
She twisted it faster but it still did not budge. She turned around to look at Mo Zihan in disbelief, “Are you that desperate that you are getting me locked here? Can’t you live without me? I just don’t want to see you-”
“Oh, shut it!” Mo Zihan sat on the bed placing one of his legs above the other as he leaned his elbow on the headboard with the side of his face propped on his chin, “You really think you are something, aren’t you?”
Ying Yue blinked. His cold and emotional tone was foreign to her. She expected this already…but her heart was feeling like it was clenched in someone’s hand.
“Surprised? Did you expect me to cry over you? Like why you left me blah blah…” He clicked his tongue, “Really now, hmm? Truth to be told, I don’t give a fuck. Lately, I have been sleeping with one my secretaries. Oh damn how good she is. So naive of you to think that I can’t get over you,” He emotionlessly said.
Ying Yue’s fingers dug into her palm, the rims of her eyes turned red. Good for her that she was wearing shades since she had came into the hospital in a disguise, “Good to know. Call your sister and let her open the door. I don’t want to stay with you for another second,” She removed her shades and walked towards the long couch near the window before taking a seat.
He glanced at her back and her nonchalant tone kept ringing in his head, “As if I am dying to stay here with you,” He grabbed his phone but his fingers hovered over the contact list without moving further, “Her phone is switched off.”
No reply.
He noticed the slightly tremble of her shoulders.
Was she cold?
He was already on his feet even before his mind could contemplate over his actions.
