Galactic Technological Library - Chapter 149
Editors and Proof Reader: Delther, Dervish
The planet [Xenia] had a long history of martial arts as there were records of ancient times dating back thousands of years.
From the ancient records that were still well preserved, people found that Martial Artists in ancient times could even split mountains and the wars were very bloody.
Even though the Martial Arts had declined as time passed, there were still many families out there who held the same power as is told in the ancient records. These family warriors adhere to the ancient codes and don’t travel outside their domains much.
They have their own fixed areas and the conflicts among these families do not occur often because once they do, hundreds of thousands of people die and the battle ends only when one of the families is destroyed.
So as time went on, some families chose to be cut off from the world and live in seclusion and others decided to rule over the peasants also known as non-aura people.
The peasants do not have an aura but that does not mean people with aura cannot appear among them as there had been many examples of powerful warriors emerging from them. Of course, these warriors would be conscripted by the families and those who refused would be disposed of.
Most of the Royals and people ruling different empires on this planet were from such Martial Art families and they held a tight rein over normal people, not allowing anyone to challenge their rule.
Fu Yan once again read all this information that he had gathered these past 7 days and could not help but let out a sigh.
He wondered previously after getting beaten by two random characters if this world was somewhat dangerous as there is no way the more powerful would be in such a remote area. So after he gathered more information, he was somehow glad that he never encountered those brutes.
‘Getting caught by such a person would result in immediate death. My armor would only hold for a day and after that, there would be nothing I could do other than dying.’
Fu Yan thought as he once again looked towards the sky, wondering when he could return back to the Library. Fu Yan looked at the connection restoration status and it was at 59% so, with the current speed, he will be able to leave in another 10 days or so.
Fu Yan knew that when the connection is restored, he can not only go back to the Library but also reap the benefit of discovering a new star system that the Library had no nodes connecting to.
This way, there is a chance of attracting new customers, and the Library always encourages Librarians and Workers to explore the universe for new planets and star systems.
While wandering about the possible rewards he could get, a smile appeared on Fu Yan’s face. After some thoughts went by, Fu Yan came back to reality and got back to work.
After the short break, Fu Yan picked up the sack of the vegetables, delivered from the fields, that he had to give to the ladies in the kitchen.
This was one of his daily tasks other than doing some other simple household chores. Of course, after working more than 7 days here, Fu Yan knew why he was put inside the house.
He had perceived the prying eyes of the prince from time to time as he was being constantly monitored while he worked inside the castle.
At first, Fu Yan was bothered by it and wondered about the possible reason behind all this but could not come up with any reasonable explanation but as time passed, he got used to it and paid no heed to it.
Today was supposed to be the same as after delivering the vegetable, he was to head back to the bathhouse and clean up there. After that, he will go to the laundry area and see if he was needed there for things.
Of course, while working here Fu Yan never did more work than he was told to do because it’s not as if he was going to stay here forever and needed to curry favors.
So when he dropped the vegetables in the kitchen warehouse, Fu Yan saw the steward walking towards him and stopped after reaching in front of him.
Ever since he started working here, this steward made sure to rebuke him whenever he got the chance and would try his best to make his life hell here but the strange thing was that he never dared to go to the extreme even when he could.
Maybe the prince was behind this or some other reason, but Fu Yan did not care about these petty people and kept to his work.
Now seeing the steward walking towards him, Fu Yan wondered what he was going to do now to irritate him but to his surprise, he gave a bow and then spoke with a polite tone.
“Prince Feyli has ordered me to bring you to meet with him. Please follow me.”
Fu Yan gave a good look to the steward and noticed that there was some unwillingness in his eyes and his action seemed to be forced.
Fu Yan looked at the steward and then shifted his gaze towards the room where Prince Feyli lived. As expected, he saw Feyli watching from the window of his room.
Looking at the forced smile on the steward’s face, Fu Yan gently shook his head and then started to walk towards the Prince’s quarters. As he walked towards the prince’s quarters, Fu Yan wondered about the reason for him being called and the respectful attitude earlier.
‘Is he someone who has been to the Library?’ Fu Yan thought but quickly shook his head. ‘No, he can’t be, because everyone who comes to the Library would have their planet’s coordinates logged in the Library and this planet has no connection to the Library.’
Fu Yan thought about every possible scenario but nothing came to his mind. After thinking for a while, Fu Yan decided to see with his own eyes and not waste his energy on useless things.
The possibility of being in danger crossed his mind so Fu Yan checked the condition of the armor once again and somehow the energy had risen to 15% after absorbing the sunlight for 7 days.
One thing to note was that there were two suns on this planet and the sunlight was more than double that of earth. Even under this intense sunlight, the energy had only risen by only 2% which was pretty slow but it was enough for him to sustain for 4 days now even if he were to be attacked.
Of course, that was if the warriors were of low levels. If someone from the legend came, Fu Yan could only last for 1 day but the chances of someone like that appearing here were almost non-existent.
After walking for a while, they reached the inner castle. After passing the guards, the steward led him towards Feyli’s room.
After reaching in front of the door, the steward paused and gently knocked on the door. Immediately after his knock, Feyli’s voice sounded.
“Come in!”
Slowly opening the door, the steward led Fu Yan in and waited for further instruction. Feyli, sitting on the ancient style sofa, shifted his gaze from the book in his hand towards them and then waved his hand at the steward.
“Ok, you can leave. I will call you if I need something.”
Hesitant at first but complying with the orders, the steward turned to leave but before leaving he made sure to give Fu Yan glaring eyes.
Fu Yan looked at this clown but did not say anything. After the steward went out and closed the door, Feyli placed the book on the table in front of him and then pointed towards the sofa seat in front of him.
“Please sit!”
Upon hearing this, Fu Yan walked towards the seat without any hesitation and sat down in a comfortable pose. Even though Fu Yan had the projection of slave clothes on him at this moment, his posture looked majestic.
It was as if the true ruler was sitting on the chair.
