Galactic Technological Library - Chapter 152
Editors and Proof Reader: Delther, Dervish
Moments after Fu Yan left [Xenia], Feyli stood there for a while wondering if everything that happened was real or not but looking at the stupefied faces of everyone around, he knew that it was a reality.
Just when he was about to leave, a grey light shined behind him. It was similar to the white light in which Fu Yan disappeared but somewhat less bright.
Wondering if Fu Yan came back, Feyli turned to see but found that it was someone else. This person was hidden in thick clothes but some golden armor could be seen from time to time as the cloth fluttered due to wind.
This person looked around for a bit and came towards Feyli. Still wondering what was all this about, Feyli mustered some courage and opened his mouth to ask but the person hidden in golden armor cut him off.
“Did that person in white leave? How many did he kill here?” The voice was so obscure that there was no telling whether this person was also a robot or a living thing.
Stupefied by the question, Feyli didn’t know how to answer so he just remained silent for a while, looking at the person with open eyes.
Not receiving any answer from Feyli, this person let out a sigh and moved forward, lifting Feyli from the neck and asked the same question again.
Feeling shortness of breath, Feyli struggled to speak and came back to his senses. Feeling that Feyli might die, this person in golden armor released him.
Feyli fell to the ground, massaging his neck while taking long breaths to get enough air into his lungs. After stabilizing himself, Feyli looked towards this person with some fear in his eyes as he quickly replied.
“If you are talking about the person who came from heaven, covered in white angelic armor, then he just left along with some weird kind of puppets filled with some Liquid.”
Upon hearing the answer, the eyes on the mask of this person shined with bright golden light as if they found something interesting. Stepping forward, this person brought their face near Feyli and asked.
“What about my other question. How many did he kill here on this planet?”
Feyli looked at the golden light radiating from this person’s eyes and could not help but tremble with fear. His sixth sense was warning him that if he dared to mess up here, he would die, miserably at that.
“He did not kill anyone here. The puppets that came to get him, killed one of my guards when he tried to attack them. That’s all, I don’t know anything else.”
Getting what they wanted, this person left Feyli and walked away towards where Fu Yan teleported from a while ago.
Standing on top of the place where Fu Yan teleported from, he picked some soil and sifted it through his fingers as if trying to analyze something.
“Dispatching two protectors, just for a mere Librarian. WHY? He doesn’t have the authority to do so, how and why? ”
Looking towards the sky, this person pondered on this question without moving while Feyli and his guards didn’t dare to move either, fearing the same fate of the guard who tried to attack Fu Yan earlier.
After some time passed, the person in golden armor turned around and gave Feyli a last look and then suddenly disappeared in the grey light, in a similar fashion to Fu Yan.
Seeing this, Feyli turned around and urged the guards to return to the castle, sparing no efforts to hurry, fearing that someone else would come and they might not survive the third time.
…
After teleporting from [Xenia], Fu Yan appeared in the same tunnel of white light as usual but this time along with two protectors who guarded him against both sides, ready for any kind of attack.
Fortunately, the journey went smoothly and he arrived in the great hall of the Library where all the workers were buddy in their usual routine.
When Fu Yan appeared in the Library, everyone stopped for a second, gave a unified bow, and continued whatever they were doing.
After arriving in the Library, the Protectors also gave Fu Yan a bow and walked towards the back of the Library where their sleeping capsules were. Fu Yan knew that they will deposit 50% of the remaining energy and while the remaining will be kept for hibernation and emergency.
While he was busy watching the Protectors walk, he suddenly heard Casper’s voice who seemed to be calling him.
Turning around, Fu Yan saw Casper standing in front of him, with a bright face. He seemed to be happy on seeing Fu Yan returning back to the Library.
“Welcome back Master. I congratulate you on your safe return. I was scared when I saw Protectors being dispatched, fearing that something might have happened to you.”
Fu Yan gave a nod hearing this and asked with a cold tone.
“How was the Library while I was gone? Were there any problems?”
“No Master. Everything was alright. There were two people who wanted to borrow books and following the guidance and suggestions from the Library system, I lent them the books since we can’t turn down a customer, no matter what the situation is. It’s just that the payments were calculated by the system and there was not much commission for the Master. I am sorry.”
Fu Yan calmly listened to Casper and gave a nod. He knew that if he were to handle the exchange, he might be able to earn more but something is better than nothing.
“No, you handled it well. I encountered some problems while I was away collecting books, but it’s solved now. If in the future, a similar situation arises, you can follow the same procedure.”
Casper’s face glowed with brilliance on being praised and gave a bow full of gratitude on being recognized for his hard work.
Seeing Casper happy, Fu Yan also let out a soft smile but quickly hid it and walked towards his desk. He wanted to check all the information available about who might have attacked him and in the teleporter tunnel at that.
The reason he did not tell Casper about it and said that it was solved is because he wanted to first figure out the problem himself and decrease the morale of his workers.
Walking to the desk, Fu Yan sat down on his chair and placed his hand on the table when a white light shined on it. Immediately after, the transparent screens started popping up in front of him.
There were some notifications about his gains and some other emergency notices that appeared when he disconnected from the Library but Fu Yan decided to watch them later.
For now, his first priority was to find out who attacked him and why. Who was capable enough to attack him in the teleport tunnel that is similar to a wormhole. It was extremely difficult for someone to even find a wormhole but this person was able to not only find it and even lock him to attack.
This showed that whoever it was, they possessed advanced enough technology similar to the Library.
Looking through all the data he could, Fu Yan tried to find every and anything he could. Civilizations with hostile relations with the Library or someone with advanced technology similar to the Library but the results he got were not what he expected.
There were some civilizations who possessed advanced technology but none of them had hostile relations with the Library, instead they relied heavily on the Library.
As for the hostiles, there were some but it could be said that none of them were capable of harming even a worker of the Library lest the Librarian himself.
Getting no answer from the data, Fu Yan felt frustrated.
“Why is there no data here? This makes no sense. If someone is after the Librarian’s life then there should be some data here but there is none.”
Fu Yan muttered while looking at the screen. Just when he was about to give up for now and look at it later on, his eyes suddenly landed on a piece of data on one of the screens.
Sitting straight, Fu Yan looked closely and clicked on it. The moment he did so, a warning popped up.
