Galaxy’s First Ruler - Chapter 287
There was a bright glint in Meuric’s eyes.
Aldrich saw hundreds of arcs of lightning running across the flesh of his right hand from where it was cut in half lengthwise. It almost looked like the lightning was trying to sew the hand back together in one piece.
The young boy opened his mouth and let out a steamy breath, along with foggy traces of lightning. What was happening within his lungs, Aldrich wanted dearly to know.
RUN!
The two commoners let out a shout simultaneously and ran off in any direction other than the one leading to Meuric. Towards the boundary of the wilderness, the two Common Ranked nobles didn’t even think twice about it. They were even quicker and quieter in their actions.
By the time the bolt of lightning glared at them, they were already on the verge of making themselves vanish in the thick dark of the jungle.
Hissss! Crack!
The Level 11 Dreamer kept walking backward as if something was pulling him from behind. Almost whispering in his ears, making him remember to run. But fear had gripped the dead werewolf’s summoner. The stories he had heard must have been more disturbing than the others.
Only the lead Dreamer shivered, standing in one place. There was a chill around him, and the hair of his hands and neck were standing at their ends. But he had yet to run. Mana rippled about him when almost all had forgotten their identity as Dreamers.
A loud honk reverberated in the surroundings, and soon, a goose appeared in front of him. It was milky white, with shimmers of icy blue on its feathers. Under the sheet of the moonless night, the feathers looked like thousands of stars stuck to the magical beast. Its size was big and blocky, but even with its upright neck, it could hardly reach the summoner’s chest.
The Level 11 Dreamer seemed to have come out of his stupor, seeing the twinkling of stars, not in the sky, but on earth. There were no stories about this beast, but there was no doubt of this goose being a Rare Ranked Magical Beast. And from the Mana Fluctuations coming out of it, anyone could tell it easily surpassed the werewolf both in strength and ferocity.
Aldrich had read of this beast before. But this was also his first time seeing one. It took no time for the details about the beast to come to him.
‘The dual water and ice attributed, Glacial Messenger Goose. Interesting!’ Aldrich amused himself in the meantime, enjoying the show thoroughly. The proceedings were according to his taste. Alas, there was no bucket of popcorns to go along with it. ‘But I have wine.’
With a thought, a little black jar of rose wine and a bronze cup appeared at his feet out of his FIR. Aldrich wanted a taste, but it wasn’t worthy of him losing dozens of bones in the process. The frown had just come on his face when he saw Shu licking its paws, completely uninterested in anything around him.
The frown turned to a hint of a smile, and Aldrich called out to the beast.
-“Shu, pour the wine.”-
Shu became so motionless as if someone had petrified him. His paw dropped, and all six eyes turned upwards to look at Aldrich. There was a twitch at the corner of his eyes and mouth. It almost looked like the beast was asking, “You are joking, right?”
But Aldrich wasn’t in the mood for a joke, only a taste of wine. His dark black eyes stared at Shu, but the beast could sense a hint of white hidden behind the blackness.
Gulp!
Shu’s throat wobbled up and down, and one of his snake-headed tails reached for the cup and the other for the jar, hissing all the way along. With a swift flutter of wings, he reached Aldrich’s shoulder and brought the cup to his pale lips.
Aldrich took a sip as he saw the goose taking it to the air, and eying the Thunder Boa with almost no fear in its eyes. Without even turning his head to glance at his shoulder, Aldrich addressed the abomination.
-“Shu?! The name ‘Cup-bearer’ suits you more, don’t you think?”-
The beast didn’t reply, but Aldrich could hear the rubbing of Shu’s sharp teeth.
Suddenly, a gurgling noise came out from behind him. Aldrich could tell from the sound it was the river which was roiling, rising, leaving its intended path.
‘Hmm…’
Aldrich looked at the lead Dreamer and found out it was a Rare Ranked Skill used by him.
Rushing Water Cannon!
But the strange thing about this cannon was that it was aimed at the Goose, not Meuric. Tons of water left the riverbed and shot out towards the Goose. But before it could hit the magical beast, a burst of icy-blue Mana came out of it. The water broke apart in tiny icy streams and surrounded the goose, like armor.
In no time, the 4 to 5 ft long goose became the size of a 20 ft ice-beast. It was like an ice carving had come alive, with all its little, beautiful details.
At the same time, a huge brown colored mace appeared in Meuric’s left hand. It was longer than Meuric’s entire arm, and there was a bulge at the weapon’s end, bigger than Meuric’s head. The weapon didn’t have a mouth, but it roared bloody destruction and reeked of a sooty smell.
Honk!!
The goose cried out, letting out a chilly roar, and lunged at Meuric. The wet stones froze under it and shattered as it passed over them. Meuric’s left hand lifted, bringing the mace with it, and pointed at the stars over his head. As Meuric’s left hand shook under its weight, the bolt of lightning coiling around him vanished.
Crack!
Up it went, disappearing among the twinkles of the stars. From where it had come, and where it had gone, this was where the stories used to end about it.
The goose was majestic, with its tails freezing everything behind it. Nothing seemed to matter in front of it, as all seemed to be doomed to freeze soon, too. The raised mace was dull, looked unimpressive, and aside from it being heavy and stenchful, nothing was outstanding about it.
The goose opened its mouth and a bone-chilling cold came blasting out.
Enhanced Glacial Cannon!
The mace fell.
And tens of kilometers long white-purple bolt of lightning descended from the heavens along with it.
Thunder Boa Final Fist – Enhanced Heavenly Thunder Strike!
BOOOOOM!!!
