Gambit Of The Living Weapon - Chapter 225 Show them who you are!
“Wraaghhhh!!!!” she cried as she released her power.
Ellie trembled for a moment but she quickly decided to take a deep breath and raised her left arm to absorb her blast.
She managed to succeed for a bit, but Mia’s power just continued to come until Ellie couldn’t take it anymore.
The mirror mage changed her strategy and pushed herself out of the way when she realized that the energy would be too much for her to absorb.
She then dashed towards the red beast and stabbed her torso with her diamond claw.
“GRRRAAAAAHHH!!” Mia screamed as the weapon pierced her insides.
[It worked!!] Marcus realized.
“No, it didn’t!!” Ellie corrected while using her future sight to see how this was going to end.
Mia then clenched her body to make Ellie unable to escape, followed by opening her mouth wide and piercing the child with her fangs.
“UGH!!!” Elie mumbled while trying to reinforce her skin with blessed metal.
[Ellie!!] Marcus shouted.
“I’m fine!!” she replied, trying to calm him down.
The girl raised the gauntlet for her left hand and stabbed Mia in the eye.
“WRAAAAGHHHH!!!!”
While the beast was distracted shivering in pain, Ellith moved around her to grab her three tails and slammed the animal against the grass like a hammer.
“GAAAHHH!!!”
[Go, Ellie!! Go!!!]
Ellie obeyed the voice in her head and started to unleash a barrage of punches on the terminal beast.
Mia tried to reinforce her body with diamond armor, but Ellie just used her spell breaker to absorb all of it and turn them into her diamonds.
Realizing she was in a pinch, Mia unleashed her vines and stabbed Ellie in the arm, shoulder, and leg.
“Kyaaaahhh!!!”
The beast pounced on her and blasted another howl that finally managed to strike the girl successfully.
Ellie tried to cover herself with a shield made of diamonds and silver metal to survive the blast, but as a result, she ended up being pushed all the way across the field like a rocket.
Once she finally landed on the ground, she tried to rush back towards Mia, who was also coming right at her.
Ellie tried to punch the beast with her gauntlet while Mia attempted to headbutt the girl with her diamond armor.
The two collided and ended up knocking each other in opposite directions.
They kept bouncing over the grass while flying away due to the impact like pebbles on water.
Mia used her wings to stop herself and using her earth magic, dived inside the ground and vanished.
Ellie also finally stopped herself and tried to regain her footing.
“Where did she go??” she whispered.
[Jump!! Quickly!!] Marcus alerted.
Ellie followed his advice and took a huge leap as an agglomeration of fangs started to emerge from the terrain, followed by Mia’s head revealing itself and trying to bite her.
Ellie used her magic as well and created a ballista made of diamonds covered in terminal fire, followed by shooting the beast’s throat.
Mia shook in pain after having her insides pierced, but right after that, the wound Ellie created started to close.
“I don’t get it!! Terminal energy was supposed to be able to kill anything!! How is she healing herself??”
[She’s a terminal being but she’s also a demon now… Any damage she takes, she can recover by simply feeding on the suffering of the souls inside of her body!]
“Ugh!! If only I had paid more attention before touching Gustav… I could have copied his blessing and get the souls out of her…” Ellie lamented.
Mia hid herself under the ground once again, only this time, instead of trying to swallow Ellie, she just unleashed a terminal energy howl from underneath the soil.
Ellie lowered her arm to try and absorb it, but just like before, it was too much for her to take it, and she ended up getting damaged by it.
“Guaahhhh!!” she cried after being sent flying.
[Ellie!!!]
She then landed on the ground, barely alive thanks to her metal skin, and started to glare.
“Ugh!! Why I can’t absorb that??”
[Spell-breaker can’t absorb blessed energy, and terminal power is made of blessed energy as well, remember?]
“Oh… Wonderfull…” Ellie grumbled.
She then looked at her skin and realized that a couple of cracks were appearing over her metal body, very similar to when she used terminal energy to face Flora, which resulted on the girl starting to shiver afraid that she was about to break apart.
She was starting to reach her limit.
“Oh… Even better…” Ellie whispered while holding her arm and trying to concentrate to close the cracks.
Mia appeared out of the ground and rushed towards the sky while flapping her fire wings. She then glared at Ellie and unleashed a rain of spikes on her using her dryad powers.
Ellie was about to run but suddenly noticed that her feet were tied up to the soil by vines.
“I’m the weapon, I’m the weapon, I’m the weapon…” she quickly whispered, proceeded by turning into a metal spear, and then back into a person again to free herself from the vines.
Next, she slammed the ground to create a diamond platform to push her away from the spikes right at the last second, but she couldn’t find her footing properly and ended up rolling on the grass.
The more she moved the more her body continued to burn, and the harder it got to even lift her finger.
“Marcus!! This isn’t working!! If Mia doesn’t kill us, my own dumb terminal power will!!” she cried while feeling her stomach about to explode.
[Come on!! Don’t give up now!! What about your cursed power?? Did the demon forest gave you anything useful??]
“Not at all!! It’s just another power boost!! The last thing I need right now is more power!!”
Mia landed on the ground trying to stomp Ellie, but the girl saw her attack with her future sight and dashed out of the way.
The beast then summoned a collection of red diamonds to float around her and aimed them at Ellie, followed by shooting them at the girl like homing missiles.
Ellie tried to dodge them while continuing her discussion with Marcus.
[Just a power boost?? Really??]
“Yes!! It’s just a lame ability that allows me to get power from the earth!”
[… … … What about the opposite??]
“Opposite??”
[Didn’t the forest also had the ability to send her power through the earth? Wasn’t that how she managed to spread her consciousness over her memory warriors and stuff? Maybe it’s not a power boost but rather, a power manipulation?]
“That could be… but how would that help??”
One of Mia’s diamonds came close to piercing the girl on the leg, but she rushed to cover her limb with metal armor and managed to block it with a kick.
[Your body is about to break because it has too much energy right?? What if you spread your power!!??] Marcus continued.
“Spread my power??”
[Yes!! With your diamond golems!!]
Ellie then realized what the lad was suggesting.
“That… That could work…” Ellie considered, “but will that be strong enough to stop her?”
[It will be if you send out every last bit of terminal energy in your body… you could use your chanting!!]
“My chanting?? What chanting? I don’t have a chanting!”
Mia’s barrage of diamonds finally stopped but as soon as Ellie landed on the ground, a group of gigantic vines appeared and began to tangle her up from head to toe.
[Yes you do!! Your whole ‘I’m the weapon, I’m the weapon’ thingy!!]
“That’s a chanting!!??” Ellie gasped.
[It’s a start!!]
The crimson beast started to charge at Ellie who was now stuck on her vines and tried to free herself with her metal claws, but she wasn’t fast enough and Mia ended up hitting her like a truck and sending her flying using her armored head.
“Guaahhh!!!” the girl cried while flying away.
[A chanting is a psychological skill that helps an individual to summon the deepest fragments of his power and unleash it all at once. It’s perfect for you who has so much power and needs to get rid of some of it!] Marcus continued.
“Ugh!!” Ellie whispered while hugging her stomach while still being in midair, “maybe… so how do I make a chant??”
[Just put your feelings and desires into words!! Say what’s in your mind in a way that makes you feel strong!]
“What…?”
Ellie finally landed on the ground but she quickly saw Mia charging at her once again like a bull out of control.
The mirror mage stomped the terrain and raised a wall of diamonds to try and stop her.
[Just put your feeling into words, Ellie!! You can do it!!] Marcus tried to say in a simplified way.
“I can do it… I can do it… ” Ellie began to whisper, “put my feeling into words… put my feelings into words!!”
Mia kept slamming her head against the wall and with each impact, the earth would shake a little with blue fragments of crystal shattering and falling from the sky.
[Ellie!!] Marcus shouted.
The girl tried to focus on her feelings, her journey, her desire, her everything, and tried to express it with the first things that came into her mind. She tried to remember as many words as possible from her calligraphy lessons and tried to put together the best rushed chant she could come up with in the heat of the moment.
“Every day is a struggle… Every day is a fight…” she finally started.
Mia started to slam the wall even harder and cracks started to appear over the diamond wall.
“I wait for someone to save me… someone to make things right…”
The diamonds that fell from the wall started to float around Ellie as if dancing to the sound of her voices. The girl glared at her own hand and closed it in a fist.
“But the more time passes… The more I start to notice, that this someone is me…”
More fragments continued to gather around her at the same time that her terminal fire also started to move in a circle.
“So I won’t wait anymore… because all I want right now… is the power to win…”
Mia finally broke her wall and screamed with rage towards the sky like the mindless beast she had become, all while the pieces of the wall continued to gather around Ellie and ignite themselves with her energy.
“And I know I can do this… For I’m more than just a weapon…”
The red beast began to charge another howl at the girl point-blank and completely pulverize her. But right before she could, Ellie finally finished her chanting by whispering her final words.
“I am the diamond queen!!!”
The diamonds finally finished gathering themselves and formed a group of golems that struck Mia in the middle of her attack and launched her away from Ellie.
Her terminal energy had completely exited her body and was now living inside each of her golems. Eight of them, each taking the appearance of the people that had been fighting by her side this whole time.
Marcus, Lilith, Daren, Detra, Leona, Claire, Joseph, and of course, her beloved aunt, Evlin.
[Whoa…] Marcus whispered.
Every golem was made of both diamonds and her terminal fire. Ellie didn’t have to worry about the energy destroying her body anymore because all her energy was being sent to her creations.
Mia just stared at the fire golems with her orbital flaming eyes not sure how to respond.
Ellie herself, though, knew exactly how to respond. She just raised her left hand and pointed at Mia with her index.
All of her golems just assumed battle position while awaiting her command.
“In the name of your queen…” the mirror mage said while glaring at the beast with her eyes constantly changing color, “TAKE! HER! DOWN!!”
