Gambit Of The Living Weapon - Chapter 239 Just like old times
Right now, a large area of the city had been completely destroyed while all the citizens tried to hide in their homes.
They all peeked through their windows to see how the battle was going, and sadly, it wasn’t going very well for Auren.
He finished charging his attack and launched his creation at the old man with arms covered in red scales that seemed to be completely indestructible. His defensive power was probably just as good as Auren when he fights together with Ria, if not better.
Wrath saw the flying shield coming at him and just raised his fists close to his face, proceeded by taking the full attack head-on.
The energy collided with the dragon skin and just began to disperse itself around the area, destroying even more buildings and stores.
“Ugh… Why… Won’t… You… Fall!!??” Auren screamed, feeling like his irritation was about to reach its limit.
“… … … Oh! Young lad! Could you do me a small favor and tell me where the temple of th-”
“AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!” Auren yelled as he used everything he had to create as many shields of golden energy as he could and launched every single one of them at Wrath.
“Oh, my… The young ones these days have such short temper…” Wrath commented while viewing the barrage of shields coming right at him.
He raised his arms again and began to try to defend against the attacks, but it seemed the number of shields was just too much for him this time and he began to be pushed back a little.
“Oh, dear…”
Auren noticed that his attacks were finally working and began to get more motivated. His nose began to bleed and all of the wounds he received in the battle were getting wider. His body was reaching its limit but he didn’t care. This old man said he would harm Ria, and Auren could never let that happen.
Wrath then realized that he was going to need a new tactic to survive Auren’s attack.
“Guess it’s time to get serious as well…” he whispered.
Auren finally dropped on his knees as he saw a pile of smoke rising from where Wrath was standing and began to take deep breaths.
He kept staring to see if he had caused any damage, but a figure began to step out of the smoke and slowly walk towards him.
“It really is a shame… It breaks my heart to see such a healthy young lad acting with so much violence against a poor old man…”
“You… Threatened… My… Wife…” Auren replied, feeling like the mere act of breathing was getting harder and harder to perform by the minute.
“I did…? Oh… Silly me…” the old man commented while rubbing his beard, “guess your anger is justified then… carry on!”
“… I hate you… so much…”
He smiled at Auren, “I know!”
The dragon demon then raised his fist and launched a punch towards Auren all the way from where he was standing. The two were more than twenty feet apart, but the mere wind pressure alone was enough to send Auren flying and knock against a wall.
“Guaahhhh!!!” Auren cried while spitting blood from his mouth.
He landed on the floor and noticed Wrath marching towards him.
“Ugh… Ria… I… I have to protect Ria…” Auren mumbled while trying to stand.
Wrath grabbed a piece of a destroyed house that was twice his size and launched it at Auren with his muscular dragon-scaled arms.
“Ughhhh!!!!” Auren tried to move but his body was too weak.
He wondered if this was going to be the end, but suddenly, a portal appeared out of nowhere, and from it, an arm covered in golden fur came out of it and grabbed the piece of debris that was about to squash the bald lad.
“What the…?” Auren gasped.
The owner of the arm exited the portal and revealed herself, a strong-looking lady with hair all over her body and a pair of wings on her back.
“Evlin!!!” Auren screamed.
More people stepped out of the portal. A lady with silver hair wearing armor and wielding a sword. A young man with brown hair, a strong body, and carrying a pair of metal claws in his hands.
“Lilith!! Daren!!”
A blond man with pieces of metal armor and finally, a young lass with long red hair that reached her waist.
“Gustav!! Ashley!!”
“You will be ok now…” whispered a female voice that also exited the portal alongside them. It was a beautiful woman with blond hair and wearing a white robe carrying a staff that had the shape of a dragon head.
Auren never felt more relieved in his life. His old team was reunited right in front of him.
Evlin looked at the piece of bolder that she was carrying with one arm and used her alchemy magic to change it into a large piece of green diamonds, followed by igniting it with raw magic energy.
She then glared at Wrath.
“Hey… I think you dropped this!”
She then moved her arm like she was a baseball player and launched the giant diamond at the old man.
“Oh, dear…” Wrath whispered as he was completely squashed by Evlin’s diamond.
Evlin then turned around and rushed to apply healing magic on Auren and fix all of his wounds.
“Auren!! Auren, are you ok!!??” Evlin asked while checking if she had missed any spot.
“Evlin!! Evlin is it really you!!??” Auren wondered, not sure if he was killed by Wrath and was now hallucinating.
“It’s me, big guy!” she replied while giving him a hug, “It’s good to see you again!!”
“I can’t believe this!! This must be a miracle!!” Auren commented while beginning to cry of pure happiness.
“Auren, you rest, for now, we will handle this guy!” Daren stated while sharpening his claws.
Auren noticed that these were probably regular metal claws since Lilith was fused with Marcus right now as her hair was drenched in white.
“Guys… be careful… This guy has an absurd defense, and he feeds on our anger…” Auren commented.
At this moment, every single one of them began to stare at Evlin as they heard what their opponent was powered by.
Evlin noticed these stares and began to cry, “Oh, come on!! Is this really what everyone thinks of me?? I’m not that violent!!”
“You picked a fight with a goddess and destroyed half of the temple of the East followers…” Ashley noted.
“What!!??” Auren gasped.
“That’s being taken out of context!!!!” Evlin stated.
While they were all distracted, Lilith noticed Evlin’s large diamond getting lift up from the ground.
“Uuuhh… Guys…? Focus!!” she yelled, trying to call their attention.
They all looked as Wrath proceeded to fully lift that enormous boulder with both arms as if he was flexing in the middle of a gym.
“So this is the dragon guy…” Evlin commented, “cool… let’s kick his ass so we can go home… just like old times…”
She then raised her arm and used her geokinesis to lift her diamond slightly above Wrath and then squash him one more time. Or at least she attempted to, but the old man just stopped the diamond with his bare hands.
“What…??” Evlin gasped.
She tried to put more power on her geokinesis but Wrath was holding her diamond with more power than she expected.
“Evlin!” Ashlley shouted, “what’s going on!!??”
“UGH!!!! This guys is stronger than her looks!!!” she replied while desperatly trying to get her diamond back and failing.
Wrath then slowly moved the diamond towards the angle Evlin and her group were standing.
“Oh, no… Evlin!!! Stop fighting him!!!” Ashley yelled.
“Hold on!! I almost have it!!!”
Wrath noticed that Evlin was using everything she had to pull the diamond towards her and decided to finally release it from his grip.
“Here!” the old man smiled, “I think you dropped this!”
Evlin could barely react as she saw the boulder charging at them like a bullet-train at max speed.
“Oh, SHOOT!!!”
She had been pulling that thing with so much force that trying to stop it now was near impossible.
“Everyone!! Get behind me!!” Evlin screamed as she shot the ground and created a pair of diamond hands to grab the incoming boulder.
Her whole group followed her command and stood behind her while she attempted to stop her own attack.
The two diamonds clashed with each other and exploded on impact.
They all covered their faces as the shards began to rain upon them and barely had time to react as Wrath leaped at then with his raised fist, ready to strike.
Those who were carrying silver armor leaped out of the way while grabbing those that did not have any means of escaping as the demon dragon punched the ground and raised a pilar of smoke.
As the dust started to clear, all the members of the group were standing while holding a combat stance and surrounding Wrath who was now inside of a crate.
“Before I forget…” the old man said while removing his fist from the ground, “Do any of you kind young ones could tell me where the temple of the West is?”
Evlin and her group stared at the hole Wrath just created. One direct hit from that punch and the chances of survival were zero.
“Oh, wonderful… Just like old times…” Evlin grumbled as she realized this was going to be harder than she imagined.
