Gambit Of The Living Weapon - Chapter 241 Unstoppable force
“Evie…?” Ashley asked while walking towards the girl.
She suddenly froze once Evlin’s face turned to glare at her as if she was daring Ashley to give another step.
“… E- Evlin…?” Ashley asked again, now shivering a bit.
[Ashley!! Stay back!!] Marcus screamed through Gustav’s telepathy link.
“Marcus?? Marcus, what’s wrong??”
[Something is not right…] he replied while standing in the white void as his souls were connected with Evlin and looked at Sphinx who was chained to the ground and unable to move.
Evlin then ignored Ashley and began to glare at Wrath once again.
The group felt nervous as they gazed at her walking on all four as if she was some kind of animal. She gave a few steps forward and began to howl towards the sky.
“Rooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!”
At that moment, Marcus noticed more chains appearing and tying him up to the ground as well.
[What the…!!?? Evlin!! What’s happening??]
Evlin then activated her fusion magic and forced her and Marcus to combine, making her golden fur turn silver.
She locked target on Wrath and suddenly vanished in thin air as a huge crater appeared where she was standing.
Wrath barely had time to react as Evlin reappeared in front of him and slashed him with her claws, sending him flying away towards a building.
The silver beast aimed at his direction and released a magic howl from her mouth made of terminal fire.
“Wraaggghhhhh!!!!” Evlin screamed as she pulverized anything in her path to destroy the demon dragon.
Wrath stood up and raised both arms to try and block the attack but the force was greater than he imagined and he ended up getting pushed even further.
“Oh deaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr…!!!!” he yelled as the blast continued to drive him out of the city and into the woods.
Evlin finished her attack and immediately began to run after him, still moving like an animal as she leaped over the path of destruction she created.
The rest of her team just stood there not knowing what to do.
“What the hell was that!!??” Daren asked.
“What!? What happened??” Lilith wondered as Ashley approached to help her stand up.
“Evlin just entered some kind of berseker state…” Gustav replied, “I can’t reach her mind!!”
“We have to help her!!” Ashley yelled, “she could get hurt!!”
“Let’s go!” Daren ordered as he, Leona, and Gustav chased after her.
“I- I can’t go…” Auren whispered while glancing at the temple of the West located at the heart of the city, “If I get too far from Ria, I won’t be able to use my powers… Sorry…”
“Don’t worry! We’ll handle it!” Daren affirmed.
The demon dragon wasn’t taking that much damage due to his superior defense but Evlin continued to not give him any time to recover his balance.
“My, oh my… This is quite the situation I got myself into…” he commented while being sent flying by Evlin again and again like a ball in the middle of a soccer game.
He tried to stop his momentum by burying his feet on the terrain, but Evlin just appeared on top of him and joined her fists to smack him against the ground.
“Ugh!! You are quite a violent girl, aren’t you?”
“WRAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!” she screamed while releasing another blast of terminal energy from her mouth.
[Evlin!! Evlin, can you hear me!!??] Marcus shouted from the white void, but getting no response from her.
Wrath tried to move through the terminal fire and stabbed Evlin’s shoulder, but she didn’t even flinch and just continued to scream at him.
He then tried to stab her leg but, once again, she acted like she didn’t care.
[Evlin!! What are you doing!!?? You have to heal yourself!!]
“WRAGGHHHH!!!!” the silver beast screamed while continuing to blast Wrath.
The dragon finally tried to aim for her heart but Evlin just reacted faster and sank her teeth into his hand before it could reach her.
“Young lady, I don’t think you would like the taste of dragon scales…”
“…”
Evlin continued to glare at him and carved her claws into his shoulder.
She then began to tighten the grip of her bite and pulled Wrath’s hand out with nothing but the power of her fangs.
“Ughhh!!!!” Wrath cried after finally receiving a form of damage that could cause him to be concerned, “I did not expect that…”
Evlin followed that action by surrounding her claw with diamonds and smacking Wrath’s face with a fist covered in terminal fire.
“Guahhhh!!” the demon dragon cried as he flew across the forest and got himself knocked against a boulder.
Evlin tried to chase after him again but the wounds on her body began to take effect and she was no longer able to move.
The mage fell on the ground with a massive bleeding wound on her arm and leg. She could probably fix this in a matter of seconds with her healing magic but Evlin’s mind was completely focused on killing Wrath right now.
[Evlin!! Evlin, please!! Use healing magic!!] Marcus begged.
Evlin just ignored him and began to pull herself with her only working arm across the terrain while trying to reach for Wrath. Her blood tainted the grass as she continued to crawl through the forest.
Marcus tried to release his fusion but the chains on his body were making it impossible for him to leave the white void.
[Come on!! Come on!! Why is this happening!!??]
Marcus kept trying to contort himself, trying everything he could do to destroy these chains, but all he managed to accomplish was falling in his face.
“Ugh!!”
He then looked up and noticed something strange, some kind of black door right in the middle of the white void.
“What in the world…?” Marcus asked.
He then began to hear some kind of noise coming from inside the door, a voice, a familiar voice.
“Evlin…??”
He tried to focus on it and began to notice that this was indeed Evlin’s voice, constantly whispering the same words over and over again.
“No more… No more… No more…”
At the same time, he could also listen to more voices behind the door, all speaking at the same time as Evlin and whispering “let us out… let us out…”
“What is happening…??” Marcus asked, having no clue as to what a door was doing in the middle of the white void or why Evlin was inside of it.
He looked at the outside world through Evlin’s eyes and noticed that their friends had managed to catch up to them.
Evlin noticed as well as Daren, Gustav, and Leona approached and began to charge another terminal howl at them.
[Oh no!! Guys!! Get out of the way!!!] Marcus screamed.
Gustav and Daren noticed the incoming blast and leaped away using the silver armor they were carrying, but Leona did not have any armor in her so she ended up not being able to get away in time and got her leg burned by the terminal fire.
“Kyaaaahhhhh!!”
[Leona!!!!] Marcus yelled in terror.
“Gustav!! We need to bring Evlin to her senses!!” Daren shouted as he rushed to help Leona.
“H- How!!??”
“You have to enter her mind!!”
“Ah!! That’s right!!” Gustav nodded.
He then rushed to activate his telepathy power boosted by his holy blessing and connected his soul with Evlin’s through the white void.
Evlin noticed that Gustav had stopped moving and tried to go after him, but Leona and Daren jumped on top of her to halt her movement.
“Marcus!!??” Gustav gasped as he arrived to find the lad and Evlin’s griffin chained up.
“Gustav!! Evlin is inside that door!! Hurry!!!”
“Ah!! O- Ok!!” Gustav replied.
He rushed to the door and finally opened it to find a young version of Evlin crouching inside a realm of darkness surrounded by a large cloud of cursed, blessed, and magic energy.
Gustav didn’t know what that was but he had no time to think about it. He entered the dark void and grabbed Evlin who was now looking like a seven-year-old and rushed to get her out of there.
“No more… No more…” she kept whispering while holding her head and trembling.
“Evlin!! Evlin!! Wake up!!” Gustav screamed.
“No more… No more…”
“Evlin!!!”
“Ah!!” Evlin gasped as she finally returned to her senses and found herself strangling Daren and Leona with her hand and her tail back at the real world.
She released both of them instantly and fell on the ground as the pain of the gaping wounds on her arm and her leg finally managed to reach her.
“Ugh!!! What… What happened???” she asked while applying healing magic on her injuries.
Once she was finished, she released her fusion and finally separated from Marcus and Sphinx.
She hurried to treat Leona as well but the minute she came closer the fire mage just slapped her hand away.
“Stay back!!” she yelled.
“I… I’m just trying to help!”
Leona aimed her dragon staff at Evlin and began to glare at the crossbow mage, “do not come any closer…”
Evlin looked around and noticed that Daren, Gustav, and Marcus were all staring at her with concern in their eyes.
“G- Guys…? What’s wrong…?”
“Evlin… Look…” Gustav commented while pointing at the demon of Wrath still splatted against a boulder.
Evlin was completely lost. One minute the demon was about to smash her against the ground right after destroying her defensive wall, the other, he is completely demolished in the middle of a forest.
Evlin looked at her hands that were covered with the blood of the demon.
“Di- Did I do that…?”
