The melody plays soothingly to everyone’s ears, even the great king of Witherheart was impressed by it. After hearing the melody, the king knows for a fact, someone he has been longing for is here. From the tree, despite the efforts of Endeavor to avoid her from doing so, Virgo walks out and reveals herself.
She glances to the king intensely as her music reaches a suspense. She expresses her hatred in the form of notes, the artistry of every musician. Quartz tried to stop the maiden from walking closer to the king however she stops her music for a moment and responds with, “For you, I sacrifice Sacchi. Chaos is to come, and you cannot stop it alone.”
She continues to play her music then tilts to the king, “I am tired of running. Play time is over and now I return to your hands… father.”
Virgo was no other than the traitor of the kingdom who ran away. It flabbergasted both the princess and the young man for they knew not of such unexpected reveal. And so, the maiden knelt to the ground sobbing and crying as extends her hand before his father, the king, Vladimir.
“Years of hiding in the shadows and only now did you reveal yourself. My little one, this man has crippled you by so many ways. He is a delusion.” mumbled the king as he knelt down and patted the hair of his daughter.
“What is he talking about Virgo?!” asked, Quartz.
She tilts her head to him and replies, “I- I am a hex. I can heal people because that is what we used to do. Our species were once compassionate creatures who loved the land. We offered our sympathy to yours but you repaid us with chaos. Fear grasped unto your shoulders thus we became your tormentors. We were hunted, struck down, and now… we are a few.
My father wanted to control Sacchi to show how powerful we hexes are. Combine the two orbs, and the motherland will fall to him. I despised both my father and mother for I know they are wrong so I left the kingdom with a price possession passed down from generation to generation of our species, this ocarina. Once I play the “melody” to my father, it would grant him powers that could end your kingdom and thus… the land will turn to dust.
I ask for your forgiveness for even I, lied to you. I should’ve told you the truth, and I regretted asking you to keep me as a secret during the first time we met each other in the field of flowers. I did despise the war between the two kingdom and even dreamed for all of it to end one day. Though, it ended as a failure and instead of finding peace for the next generation, I ended up falling in love with you through the adventures we had together.
And now, that I revealed the truth to you, I sacrifice myself to my father so you can live on and continue my utmost dream, a Sacchi for the future generation.” She looks to her father and addresses him, “Now that I promise to return to the kingdom, the only thing I beg is for you to spare his life. I shall play the ocarina, and there you will be the king you always wanted to be.”
Quartz was left speechless as Virgo stood up and grabbed the hand of his father. His father tells her, “Your decision is wise, and the young man will be spared. Come on, your mother is waiting.”
And so, Virgo mounts to the back of his father’s stallion, looking back at Quartz for one final moment. She says her final words to Quartz with a single tear flowing from her eyes, “War will always be the advent of another. There is no key unless both are united just like how all things should be. I hope to see you again one day, and if we do, I will be happy.”
Quartz was still speechless as the king left the scene. As for the princess, her anger returned, and just like what she has uttered, Quartz Vermillion is to be imprisoned. Is there any hope for him and her? After all, not all stories have a happy ending.
