Gambit - 45 045| Betrayal
She took out her ocarina, and amidst the crowd who was watching her, she began to play the song. Like what they used to say, music is the rhythm of the soul, but for a king who forced his daughter to play for the sake of his ill will, the music is more of a passage way of despair.
The first note has been played, and slowly, the pitch rises. Like a roller coaster, the pitch declines after reaching its pinnacle in a swift manner. Virgo played the song out of force; therefore, she showed no emotion at all except for sorrows and tears.
The grief surges with every expelled breath, always reaching higher peaks, never sufficiently soothed by her long intakes of the damp cold air. Tears began to spill from her helpless eyes onto the newly stoned flooring.
In her song, a message was given, the emptiness in her heart, the numbness pounding her brain. All her other emotions were drained out existence as her ocarina accidentally slips out of her hand, pausing the melody for a moment. In sorrows she kneels as she picks the ocarina up and started to play the song once more.
Soon, the song reaches its crescendo, and the scepter of the king glowed in a white color. Its vibrant white hue blinded everyone in the room, alongside the four pillars of the kingdom. Soon, there was a visible flowing orange hue from the ocarina to the scepter.
The king was pleased as the powers flowed to him. It brings joy and ecstasy to him and from that point the beast behind the throne shrieks loudly. It slowly steps out of its hiding spot, revealing its hideous looks. The winged-beast is no other than a dragon. Its flaming power can burn a whole army in one spew, although, there was something quite peculiar about the actions of the dragon.
Out of nowhere, it spewed flames to the throne, burning both the king and queen. Virgo was gobsmacked as the dragon transformed into an elderly man. Vladimir and his wife, the ocarina’s music was no other than their ninth symphony. Everybody inside the room is aghast as they rush out of the scene, panicking in despair as the elder chuckles hysterically.
Soon, the elder takes hold of the king’s scepter and through the power of the scepter did he became younger. Morduk of the pillar quickly grabs hold unto the maiden’s shoulder and protected her while facing his scythe to the man who looks similar to the king who perished.
“Such a pity. It seems to me time is quite fast and now the people has forgotten who I am. Don’t you remember in the books of old? The tales of our kingdom? Only through the power of that ocarina can I reign king once more as my old body grows younger.
I am King Darian, I once fought with my brother but now that he is dead, his kingdom will wither away and the orb shall be mine. Such is the power of our kingdom, capable of withering many towns. It is time to end the war for good, join me and together, Sacchi will be ours!” Darian tried to persuade them but by the looks and faces of the four pillars, they did not seem to be willing to join the king who started the kingdom.
“You are the past, Vladimir was the rightful king and now that you have slaughtered him and his wife, you shall perish because of your actions.” Morgan makes the first move, transforming herself into a puff of smoke and trying to suffocate the king. With the swoosh of his scepter the king turns Morgan into a puddle of black oozing mud.
“Sacrilegious.” Charles Gunner mocks as he turns into a griffin and rebels against Darian. With the swivel of his scepter, Charles was turns into a real griffin who is now abiotic and has no capability of transforming himself back into a man. Like a statue, he is frozen solid.
“Do you not comprehend? I am your king!” yells, Darian. He looks to Morduk and says, “Do you wish to have your faith sealed just like your fellow friends over here?”
Morduk slowly tilts his head to Virgo, who was crying in fear. He murmurs softly to her, “Set him free and end the war.” Soon a portals appears right beneath the maiden and was sent somewhere else with her ocarina.
And there, Morduk tries to fight the king with his scythe but fails to do so as the scepter pierces his chest completely. “You made the wrong decision. I don’t need the shadow monarchs in my side for I am all of you. Now there is one thing left to do and that is to end the war.” Darian murmurs. He removes the scepter piercing Morduk’s chest and beheads him next. He then chuckles hysterically.
