Game Alive - Chapter 2 The Super Assassin Or Common Merchan
Kage was looking around the starting area he had been taken to and stared for but a moment before he was approached by a man wielding a long rifle. The man himself seemed friendly but his looks were rough and rugged.
“New player? Please inform me of your class so I may place in a good starting point” announced the man without revealing his name.
Kage took a few seconds before choosing one of his occupations.
“Merchant” stated Kage as the man smiled kindly upon the answer.
“Excellent, excellent. This particular town has yet to have a merchant appear so far but it is only the first hour since the launch. Come with me and I will help you find a suitable location” laughed the man as he lead Kage into the town which was mash up of village and city in an odd harmony.
The two walked through the starter town looking at several different places until they finally came to a decent looking little store that was on a small secluded part of the starting point.
While it may have seemed like a terrible idea at the time it would actually be a hot spot in the future until the later stages of the game. The reason for this was because there were few villages and towns in the beginning of Reimagined, for future development the players would be allowed to establish their own cities after meeting the requirements.
So for the time being it would be best for Kage to remain in the starting point, allow him to collect information and a suitable income in game.
Smiling to himself Kage looked at the spot that would now be his store front before he decided to leave and go hunting.
The other advantage of the starter points was the fact they were close to spawn grounds of monsters and other wildlife that could be killed for experience. Though there was a minor difference to the usual gaming experience, in Reimagined the monsters and creatures that killed players would also gain experience allowing for multiple situations and opportunities for a boss battle.
for visiting.
That is to say the longer a creature survived in the game the stronger it would become until slain, Kage however was unaware of this aspect as he slaughtered the creatures ruthlessly collecting items and experience.
A good point to recognize is that his starting stats were not among the average in fact they made him an oddity from the start.
(Kage)
Strength 125
Int 200
Dex 180
Agility 110
Mana 20
Vitality 150
(Titles) none
Ridiculously overpowered as compared to the basic stats of normal classes, this was due to his occupations that he had mastered in order to blend into any environment.
These heavily affected his stats which is what caused outrage among the programmers who had known this would throw off the balance of the game for other players. Their fear of the complaints had nearly had Kage banned from the game if it hadn’t been for Elm stating it would not kick him as Kage had not violated any of the rules of the game which was very few.
Though the boost in stats did come with a small amount of trouble due to Elm wanting to keep the balance in the game, where as other players would receive eight points per level up to spend. Kage would only get five so as to breach the gap his class had created.
As Kage continued slaughtering he found that the amount of Experience he needed was rather high for only being a level one, but this wasn’t him being nit picky this was the second counter measure to balance the game due to his class.
If Elm had allowed Kage to have the same Experience cap as normal player then he would be able to reign supreme the whole game due to his high stats. So instead of the normal amount Kage was having to grind harder than most to accomplish the same feat of leveling up but to think this was a disadvantage was nothing but a joke.
Fighting monsters of the same level and requiring more Experience merely meant he could get used to controlling his character faster as he could spend more time hunting the beginner grounds.
Not only did this mean that he would have a better understanding of the mechanics but also he would have a surplus of items and other goods that were drops from the monsters.
Kage spent the rest of the day hunting until he finally reached level two and received five points to spend how he pleased but he didn’t instead keeping them on standby until he needed them.
‘I suppose it would be wise to start looking for a suitable weapon and better gear’ thought Kage as he returned to his store.
Logging off from the game Kage went and began stretching as he bashed into a metal pole in the ground leaving dents with the resounding clangs from his fists hitting it. It was beyond the normal vision of what someone with his build could do, a terrifying sight that would haunt many.
It begged the question though, was this a Super Assassin or was he gonna be a Common Merchant
