Game In Middle Earth - Chapter 20.
Time passed quickly while eating. Erumre brought the food back to him, but Aldarion, again, could not keep up a conversation with her.
The only words that Erumre dedicated to Aldarion were the courtesy phrases: “Greetings, I bring you the food.” And “Enjoy your meal.”
Aldarion did not worry about this, he had decided to be patient with this issue. Although he was very nervous at heart, in reality he was dying to talk to her so he had to think long and hard before talking to her so as not to screw up.
After finishing his meal, he picked up his sword and bow and went to the parade ground where Feladrias was waiting for him to begin his lessons in fencing and archery.
Aldarion was very happy for these lessons, he was going to learn from an elven warrior. This was going to make his abilities increase a lot, so he was going to become much stronger and that’s what he most wanted at the moment, because if he wanted to survive in this world and fulfill the goal imposed by God he could not remain weak forever.
He did not take long to get to the courtyard, because Aldarion did know where he was, unlike the library, so he did not get lost. Upon arrival Aldarion greeted Feladrias with a smile on his face. Feladrias returned the greeting with a slight nod from his head.
Aldarion may have thought that the Captain of the guard might be an antagonist to him, but he did not give him time. What Feladrias did next, took Aldarion out of his state of joy.
Feladrias drew his sword quickly and attacked Aldarion.
Instantly, Aldarion removed the smile from his face and became very serious. He threw his bow to one side, drew his sword as best he could and could hardly block the blow of Feladrias coming from above.
Feladrias looked at Aldarion and launched several more attacks, Aldarion tried to block them all and, although he succeeded, Feladrias always maintained the advantage and Aldarion could not make a counterattack at any time.
In the end, Aldarion ended up losing the position, which caused that the last blow of Feladrias surpassed his defense and reached the neck.
At that time, Feladrias could have killed Aldarion, but at the last second he stopped his sword just before touching his neck.
Aldarion had a thick drop of sweat on his forehead. The drop trickled down his face until it reached his jaw and from there he fell on the blade of his sword. Just at that moment, Feladrias changed the expression on his face.
Feladrias put on his best smile as he picked up his sword and said. “En! You have done better than I thought. Honestly, I thought you would fail at the first hit.”
“Fa-fail? First hit…?” Aldarion still had not been able to recompose himself, so he could not say a complete sentence.
Feladrias patted him on the shoulder while laughing and telling him. “Calm Aldarion! I had no intention of killing you. It was just a small test to see at what level you are.”
Aldarion, still without leaving his stupor answered him. “Are you sure you did not want to kill me? If I had not been alert, your attacks could have killed me.”
“Oooh come on! I would have stopped as in that last hit. Besides, if I really wanted to kill you, you would be.” At that moment, without changing the expression on her face, Feladrias began to emit an aura of killing intent that terrified Aldarion.
Aldarion was happy to hear the words of Feladrias and the smile on his face widened. Feladrias saw this and told him. “Even if I told you this you should not feel very proud, even if you have the ability, you still have a lot of work ahead of you.”
“Well now that it’s all said, let’s check your skill with the bow.” The elf continued.
Picking up his bow and following the instructions of Feladrias, Aldarion shot several times at a target that was already prepared. Some shots hit the center but most fell around.
“Well, I think you can stop now. Your skill with the bow is very averaged, you stand out more with the sword, I think. From now on, we will focus more on fencing, but from time to time you will practice the bow.” Feladrias told to Aldarion.
Aldarion was a bit discouraged to learn that he did not have as much talent with the goal but he did not lose hope of increasing his skill with the bow.
After seeing the resolution in Aldarion’s eyes, Feladrias nodded in approval and they began practicing fencing for two more hours.
When the lessons ended, Aldarion was very tired, and went to his room to rest after going to the bathroom to clean and relax.
He entered his room and lay on his bed face down without even removing the sheets. He was about to fall asleep but Erumre entered the room to deliver the dinner.
Aldarion got up a little quick to be able to greet her. She was as cold as ever but, before she could get out the door, Aldarion stopped her.
“Wait! Could you stay a moment?” She stopped immediately and with her back to him.
“Could I ask why my lord needs me?” She answered.
“Could you help me eat? My arms are so numb from training that I can not even move them. “Aldarion did not know what excuse to invent to be able to have a conversation with her, so he said the first thing that occurred to him.
Erumre remained quiet for a few seconds while she thought what she should do. On the one hand she did not want to relate to anyone, while on the other hand she wanted to fulfill Cirdan’s orders and those orders implied serving Aldarion.
“Very well, I will help you eat, my lord.”
