Game In Middle Earth - Chapter 21.
It was a very happy time for Aldarion, he spent a very precious time with Erumre. Even that, during the time she spent feeding him, he did not get to chat much, Aldarion tried everything. But even though he talked and told her about what he had done that day, she addressed very few words to him, so he could not develop the conversation.
Once she finished dinner, she left and Aldarion, who was very tired, fell asleep almost instantly.
The next day, however tired he was, Aldarion woke up early. His body was full of stiffness, so every time he moved he suffered a twinge of pain.
Aldarion got up from the bed and leaned out the window, relaxing as he watched the landscape.
The cool breeze of the morning caressed his skin, taking him out of his dream state when he noticed that he was a little cold. As he knew what he had to do he went to the closet to pick up a new set of clothes. Just like the day before, he chose the first one he saw and then began to change.
Aldarion took off his pants and quickly put on the new ones. The order in which he changed was a mania that he had had since his previous life, always starting with his pants, thinking that if someone saw him at least he had hidden the most intimate part.
You might think that this is absurd but it was thanks to his mania that the next scene was not worse for Aldarion, because, when he was changing his shirt, Erumre, who brought him breakfast, went into the room and found him in the middle of the process.
“I-I bring you breakfast. I’m so sorry!” She was so surprised that she ended up leaving the tray of food on the floor by the door and she quickly left, slamming the door behind her.
The scene happened so fast that Aldarion almost could not even react. ‘Should I apologize to her later?’ He thought.
Aldarion finished dressing and had breakfast as he could, because the pain of the aches and pains did not make him easy to eat.
After eating, Aldarion went to the library quickly. This time he did not want Cirdan to scold him for being late.
That day the lesson was divided in two. On the one hand, Cirdan gave her singing lessons and on the other hand, they started the government and politics classes.
Singing lessons might seem absurd, but singing was the way to do magic. When the elves sang, depending on the content of the song, one thing or another could happen. For example: if at a party a group of elves sang, they can make those who are present be relaxed and happy, or on the other hand, if an elf sings to a tree, it can grow under the directions of the elf.
The magic in the universe of Tolkien is not represented as in other fictional universes in which only a magician can do magic conjuring a spell. In Tolkien’s universe, anyone can do magic but only if you have knowledge.
Magic is represented by wisdom. For example if you want to fire with magic you can not make it out of nowhere, you need a conductor, such as wood. Gandalf could fire on his wooden stick because the wood contains the combustion property.
Because of all this, Aldarion became very emotional when he realized that he was going to learn to do magic. Even though he knew he was not going to have great power, he did know that he could do little things like use his words to convince people or inspire people like Gandalf did.
On the other hand, the lessons of politics and government were focused on protocols and ways of managing a government, which made Aldarion very bored. He tried not to get too distracted and learn as much as possible but could not stop Cirdan from scolding him from time to time.
“Remember, when you eat you have to do it this way.”
“If you have to use the napkin this way.”
“To manage a country well you have to do …”
And like these phrases, many Cirdan told Aldarion.
The class ended and like the day before Aldarion went to eat. The difference with the previous day was that he was very tired and sleepy which made him walk with reluctance and yawns from time to time.
As he walked to his room he began to think about the event that occurred in the morning. Aldarion was still thinking about whether he should apologize or not. In the end, Aldarion came to his room, sat in the chair by the table and waited for Erumre to appear.
She did not take long and this time Erumre knocked on the door and entered with more caution. Her complexion was slightly flushed and she tried to hide her gaze from Aldarion’s.
Aldarion was no stranger to this, so he decided to address the issue directly.
“My lady, about this morning… for my part I did not care and… if I have bothered you in any way… I apologize, I am very embarrassed… I should have closed the door…” Aldarion was nervous about talking about the subject so the choice of his words weighed very well.
“N-no! It’s not your fault, my lord. I should knock on the door and be more cautious.” Erumre answered even more nervously and added. “B-besides… I apologize for running out that way a-and I want to add that I have not felt offended by anything.”
“Cute.” Aldarion, who stared at Erumre as he apologized, could not help but notice her features even more and how shyness made her look more beautiful in his eyes. So much so that he thought out loud and of course this did not escape to Erumre’s ears.
She, even more embarrassed, became red as a tomato, so much so that Aldarion thought that she was going to start to smoke through her pointed ears.
“C-cu-cute! B-bye.” The next moment she went running again imitating the scene in the morning.
