Game of Apocalypse - Chapter 17 An Envelope
Wiping off the blood trace on her mouth, Corinne’s surroundings faint red light dimmed, as if the final glow of burning firewood.
Her hands were also slightly reddish, as though a flame was dancing on her palm. It seemed to be a skill related to fire.
“Hey, look at Corinne’s surroundings. Am I seeing things, why is there a red mist?” The audience began whispering.
“I’ve heard people from Wild Dancing Combat Club practiced magic. Looks like it’s Qi Ignition.”
“Oh yeah, I’ve watched an internal match of Wild Dancing Combat Club before. Corinne also used the Qi Ignition. I recalled the skill is called Flare Mist.” A short girl had traces of excitement in her voice.
However, Corinne did not care whether or not her magic had weakened, right now, all she wanted was to defeat the b*stard, Odin, in front of her. After fighting for so long, she suddenly noticed the person in front of her was not as easy as she imagined.
With an eagle claw, Corinne struck at Odin. The moment she almost grabbed Odin’s neck, she instantly flipped behind Odin. Turning her claw to a palm, she aimed at Odin’s weakest part, the nape, and thrust at it.
Dodging aside, Odin immediately pulled several meters away from her. With both his fists augmented by his powerful mental strength, Odin punched Corinne’s face. Due to his mental strength, his punches pierced through Corinne without physically landing on her. Corinne’s entire body was thrown onto the ground.
Followed by Odin immediately swooping over, he locked Corinne from the ground. Both of his arms tightly grasped one of her legs and arms before lifting and throwing her in midair.
Forming a palm with both of his hands, Odin jumped higher than Corinne and charged at her. Before she could take any action, both of Odin’s palms viciously struck her ribs.
Corinne fell onto the ground directly and spat a mouthful of fresh blood with a ‘Pfft’. Several ribs of hers were broken by the tremendous force and the intense pain made her unable to stand up. She could only constantly repeat, “How’s this possible? How’s this possible? How’s…”
“Cough! Cough! Cough!” She spat out another mouthful of blood due to pain from her ribs when speaking.
The situation, in the beginning, was not like this. After Odin was hit by her attack, his strength visibly boosted all of a sudden. He even mimicked some of her moves and used them on her. The most unimaginable was this man’s Agility and Strength were above hers!
Looking at Corinne’s reluctant expression, Odin lightly snorted. If he had met her before his fight with William, he might be the one laying on the ground.
However, because of the EXP he received from defeating William, his Strength and Agility were increased. Although Corinne’s fire magic was troublesome, during the fight, his Mental was constantly increasing due to the effect of the fire magic.
Corinne might be clear with his attack augmented by his mental strength, nonetheless, she did not know his true extent and underestimated him thus, losing the match.
The medical team had carried the severely wounded Corinne away. While Odin’s fame soared because of his match with William and Corinne.
The audience was silent before abruptly cheering loudly, everyone was shouting Odin’s name.
Odin did not care about it and turned around leaving the ring through the contestants’ aisle.
The aisle was long and usually, it was brightened by the lights. However, for some unknown reasons, whether the staff had switched on fewer lights or the circuit had some issues, the aisle was dimmed as if some ferocious beast was hiding in the aisle, preparing to launch a deadly strike.
Odin had consumed much of his energy when facing Corinne. Although he could barely stand up in the ring, now he was exhausted and propped himself onto the wall, gradually walking forward.
While walking and breathing, Odin slowly adjusted the disordered Qi energy within his body.
All of a sudden, a boy with a cap appeared at the end of the aisle and his speed was fast. Before Odin could react, he already appeared in front of Odin and accidentally bumped into Odin, then he vanished immediately at the other end of the aisle.
After the boy vanished, Odin heard something fall onto the ground. Odin was stunned by the fact the boy’s speed was faster than something falling onto the ground.
It was an envelope dropped on the ground. The envelope was white-colored with pure silver on its edge. It looks humble yet elegant and there was a fire lacquer seal on it. The pattern on it was a silver snake.
Odin had a nagging feeling as he felt seeing the symbol somewhere before, but he failed to recall where he saw it.
The aisle was dark, and the cap-wearing boy just now was moving at a high speed. It was impossible to see his face clearly and could only vaguely see it was a male figure.
Stashing the envelope in his pocket, Odin decided to search for a place to rest before opening the envelope. He did not dare to remain any longer, mainly afraid this matter was related to the Black Death Society. The moment he let down his guard, he would become the vessel for the Black Death Society right here.
Returning to the Ground Combat Club, the siblings were unable to watch Odin’s match due to handling some club matters. However, they were overjoyed when they heard the victorious news. Judging from this trend, the God of Life’s advancement book soon would be right in front of their eyes!
“Since you guys already knew, I’ll go back to the dorm first. I used up too much energy.” Looking at the happy siblings, Odin knew they learned the news and prepared to return to his dorn for a rest.
“Wait.” Carna stopped Odin before turning around and grabbing a glass jar from the cupboard. Inside the jar contained some reddish wrinkly fruits.
“It’s Dracosnake Fruit, it can help one to recover energy quicker. I think you need this.” Carna handed the jar to Odin.
“Thanks.” Odin naturally would not be polite with the siblings and took the glass jar. He had heard of Dracosnake Fruit before, it was a fruit capable of strengthening one’s Constitution.
With this fruit, he could spend a lesser amount of effort to recover his strength.
