Game of Apocalypse - Chapter 28 Black Death Society’s Territory
Twisting his wrist, Odin nodded and said, “Not bad, quite powerful.”
“How is this possible?!” Seeing Odin really learn the Military Combat Technique, Wilson was shocked. Although he barely used half of his power, he failed to imagine Odin would counter-attack using the Military Combat Technique.
“It’s just the Agility is lacking and the Strength’s consumption was slightly huge.” Odin was still yammering while Wilson’s initially darkened face became even darker like a pot.
“Hmph!” Coldly snorting, Wilson prepared to return to the questioning room with the four officers.
Just as Wilson was going to leave, he suddenly recalled something and halted his step. Turning his head, he indifferently said, “You can’t leave the security office for the time being. You need to remain with us for the upcoming mission.”
Without replying, Odin nodded and continued practicing the Military Combat Technique.
As he pointed out just now, this technique had excessive Strength but lacked Agility. It was only suitable for defeating an enemy in a short period of time. If facing an enemy with similar or greater capability, it was easy to be taken down without any chances of counterattacking.
Odin repeatedly practiced it. This technique’s main point focused on the power exerted on each skill must be precise. While connecting to the subsequent skills, one needed to swiftly change their controlling method of power. Over and over again connecting the skills would be beneficial for one’s power control.
After practicing a couple more times, Odin suddenly realized some of the skills in the Military Combat Technique were similar to the ones he learned before. If he could incorporate some of his previously learned skills into the Military Combat Technique and raise its Agility, it would be great.
Thus, Odin began trying since what he previously learned from the Ground Combat Club focused on Agility while Strength was auxiliary. However, some of these skills could be fused with the Military Combat Technique and simultaneously exhibited the speed of the Ground Combat Technique and the force of the Military Combat Technique.
Initially, the process of fusion didn’t go well as both of the combat techniques widely differ from each other. Moreover, Odin just recently learned the Military Combat Technique so he failed to control the coordination between Strength and Agility.
After countless trials and errors, during a blocking skill, Odin suddenly smoothly connected it with a Military Combat Technique skill. After blocking, Odin lunged forward a tree before stopping right in front of it. Because of the great force brought by the combat technique, the leaves, with a ‘swish’, violently fell from the tree.
“Heh, it’s a success.” Looking at his fist, a smile appeared on Odin’s face.
Practicing for another three to four hours, Odin finally fused the Ground Combat Technique and the Military Combat Technique together. This brand new fusion technique didn’t have a high requirement for Strength and its Agility had a visible increase. It was an adequate technique Odin discovered.
【Discovered new combat technique, gained 50 EXP. Every 100 times practicing can increase Strength by 0.5, Agility by 0.5, and Constitution by 0.2.】
This new fusion technique surprisingly has a greater increment than before. This is a decent benefit from Wilson. Odin raised his brows.
The operation time was set for tonight as Wilson had learned from the weather forecast that tonight was a cloudy night and lack of moonlight. It was preferred weather for the people of the Black Death Society to take action. Besides, the time was limited and the operation couldn’t be delayed for too long.
“Tonight, we’ll protect you in the night. Of course, we will only observe from the shadows and if you’re in any dangerous situation, we naturally will take action. The rest depends on whether or not you can make them spit out the matter on Chris.” Wilson had a headache just from looking at Odin. He spoke all of these to Odin expressionlessly and left immediately after finishing the words. He didn’t want to look at Odin’s face for any more seconds.
Odin was indifferent to others’ attitudes toward him so he nodded, indicating he understood while in his brain, he was still considering how to make the fusion technique become smoother.
Soon, the night curtain fell and the weather was particularly bad. Dense clouds shrouded the sky, no moonlight shone on the ground, and there was no lamppost on the street, It was as if losing one’s vision, unable to see anything.
However, this was the favorite weather for the Black Death Society. The ominous air filled with curses in the dark night was conducive for them to search for spirit beings lingering in the surroundings for their own cultivation.
Therefore, the one who usually appeared was the third profession of the Crow God, the Spirit Warlock.
In fact, this kind of weather was also beneficial for Odin since he was a Spirit Warlock too. But his profession’s level was still low and he wasn’t in a hurry to absorb spirit beings, so this kind of weather wasn’t too important for him for the time being.
Odin, alone, strolled on a secluded pathway while the officers should be tailing him not too far away or searching a place for an ambush.
In front of Odin was an open space. There hung several lights and were emitting dimmed glow. Since the surroundings were pitch black, Odin was unaware of where he had arrived. After walking on a dark path for some time, his eyes failed to adjust to the sudden glow that struck. Squinting his eyes and using his hand to cover them, Odin gradually walked forward.
Only walking in did he realize it wasn’t open space. There were several wooden chairs placed in this place and on the ground was an odd mural drawn using a piece of rock. The mural seemed to be a symbol of an organization.
“What place is this? Does the campus have such a place?” Odin muttered to himself. Just as he was going to leave, a sudden shrill laugh halted his steps.
The laughter didn’t come from a single person but a mixture of ear-piercing sounds of male and female. It was as if a hoarse and dry voice was choked by smoke.
Odin had goosebumps because of the laughter. He silently and motionlessly sized up the odd place, waiting for them to appear.
Soon, four people appeared from the shadow beside. It was a group of two males and females. The laughter just now was properly caused by them.
“Big bro, does this person look similar to the one from the mission handed out by the higher-ups?” One of the males voiced out. Oddly enough, his voice was clear unlike the ear-piercing laughter from earlier.
“I think so too.” This time, it was a sweet female voice.
“No way, did he come to his own death?” Another female asked with hints of surprise.
