As we approached the southern wall facing Yunkai, we could see crowds of people, slaves included crowding over. At the forefront were the magister and masters who were leisurely sitting, as if watching an entertaining show.
The escorts didn’t seem to care too much about us wondering off as they were more focused on the show that would be occurring in front of the gates.
On the ground stood over ten thousand unsullied all coated in iron with spears and a shield. At the front of all of them sat a woman on her horse with her supporters close behind. Although the distance was quite far, and I could not make out your face, I knew from my knowledge that it was Daenerys.
“Didn’t think I would meet you this early,” I mutter to myself.
“You know her?” William asked.
Shaking my head, “Don’t worry about it. Let’s see what the masters are going to do.”
The main gates slowly opened, enough to allow one man and his horse to ride through before closing.
“They’re sending a champion? Masters and their idiotic ways,” to my surprise it was John who spoke up. Usually, John was quiet, raising my eyebrow I at him in question.
“What got you so worked up,” silence followed, guess this would be a question for another day. Focusing my attention back at the champion, “I wonder who it is?”
William who was far more acquainted with the other champions of Meereen seemed to figure out who the man was when a man brought out a lance for him to use.
“You know him?”
Shaking his head, “His name is Xemo. I don’t really know him. I invited him to the company a while back, but he rejected me.”
As we had our conversation together Daenerys was talking among her supporters. After their talk, a man who seemed to be more suited for the pit walked out. I recognized him in an instant.
“Daario, the lieutenant of the second sons,” I tell William.
William seemed surprised, “how do you know all of this?”
With a smile, “I’ll tell you one day.”
“Now you’re the one that’s all mysterious.”
Xemo kicked his horse into a gallop and positioned his lance. On the other hand, Daario just stood there with not a care in the world.
As Xemo neared Daario, Daario pulled something out of his pocket, a throwing knife if I remembered correctly. With one fluid motion threw the knife and knocked Xemo off his horse merely meters in front of him. Dust raised as Xemo fell.
Once the dust settled you could see Xemo lying on the ground, presumed dead as a curved sword, Arakh, covered in blood was seen in Daario’s hand.
“Told him he would die one day because of his obsession with his horse,” William commented.
“If he had a sword or spear drawn he would he would have been able to block the strike after falling,” I add shaking my head in disappointment. He was a champion, are you kidding me? There was only one word to describe him, weak.
Chatter amongst the masters and slaves erupted. Someone ordered the archers to shot warning arrows in front of Daario, not that it did anything. To add insult to injury, Daario pissed on the ground just as Xemo did earlier to flaunt his win.
“I am Daenerys Stormborn.” Stormborn? I never really understood that name. Targaryen makes more sense to me, easier to remember.
“Your Masters may have told you lies about me, or they may have told you nothing. It does not matter”
“I have nothing to say to them. I speak only to you.”
“First. I went to Astapor. Those who were slaves in Astapor, now stand before me, free.”
“Next I went to Yunkai. Those who were slaves in Yunkai”
I knew where this was going, and I knew what was going to happen next, “William we need to get to Magister Aldon. There is going to be a revolt.”
Quickly understanding what was happening, William quickly dashed to the location of Aldon with no regard for the guards that escorted us. John and I quickly followed, ordering the guards to follow.
By the time we arrived beside Magister Aldon, Daenerys was at the end of her speech. “Magister Aldon we need to go and get you to safety.” Although Aldon used slaves to make money for him he and his attendant treated us well. We were never whipped, or tortured in his name, and when one of us died he would provide the fallen gladiator with a resting ground. Something that no other magister did. That alone garnered enough respect for us to protect him.
We left the wall just as Daenerys catapulted thousands of collars into Meereen. We had to get back to the estate and get Aldon out of Meereen before all hell gets loose tonight.
“Magister Aldon We need to get you out of Meereen before nightfall. Those men you saw outside the gate plan to get the slaves to revolt and kill the masters tonight.”
“Edward, how do you know all this?”
I look to William for support as I have no way of proving my statement. “Trust us Aldon it will happen. If not tonight, the day after. Get as much of your wealth and guards and flee Meereen.”
Aldon nodded at William and me as we rode horses back to the estate. It seems that three years with William got him to trust him more.

When we made it back to the estate it was already evening, we rallied the guards and gathered Aldon’s family. Magister Aldon could be seen collecting as much of his wealth as he could carry and putting it on a carriage.
“You must leave Meereen before nightfall,” I say to Aldon as he finished packing. This was the least I could do for him for being a decent Magister.
Once we bid our farewells as he and his private army left the estate. William turned to look at me with a smile, “Want to meet the company?”
I nodded and we to, left the now empty estate that was once filled with gold decoration. The company I wonder what they are going to be like.
