Gamemaster’s System - Chapter 16 Whos Not A Fan? 016
Adrian was proud once more as everyone flipped out for his ultra-realistic game. Adrian had prepared his own deck of thirty cards. One of them was one of the most expensive cards, the Scaled Dragon Companion. All of the monster spawners started spawning holographic monsters, and people were lining up to the stores all around the nation.
He looked outside and saw some monsters. He took a break from playing Wisp of Magic and creating games to go outside for once. He took a jacket because of the cold weather and departed. He held his “wrist module” up to his chest and checked everything. On one part of the wrist module, there was a place that held the deck and another that completely displayed the cards when looked through.
He brought a sword, two trap cards, the Scaled Dragon, and a few others into the five active slots. He found the nearest monster and started slashing away while evading. Some of the nearby people were mystified at how he was doing this, and it caused them to want to try it out as well.
He and several others soon finished off the monster and gained several points of experience. He had done some intense maneuvers in order to evade, and he was quite tired. He looked at his stats and saw that he leveled up quickly, causing him to smile. It was a level ten orc that was rather slow, in this game of Card Brawl, the gap between levels didn’t really matter.
He started walking towards his apartment and found his phone buzzing in his pocket, temporarily surprising him. He saw who it was and quickly answered, cold sweat on his neck. “Er- hey! Julia! I-I’m sorry I didn’t call for a year or two…”
“It’s okay sweetpea, people forget for long periods of time. To make up for it, wanna get dinner? I’m hungry and my parents are a little suspicious about why I haven’t gone with you lately. They sure are pushy. We really need to spend more time together, so be a gentleman and buy us dinner, okay? hehe~…”
“I would rather love to do that, let’s do it now since it’s evening. Do you have a place you wanna go for dinner? I’m okay with anywhere, at least.” Adrian was red to his ears and felt his heartbeat jump a little.
“Yeah; in fact, I’m already there. I’m at where we first met…”
. . .
Adrian saw her, blue hoodie, soft blonde hair, a figure worth more than others could dream of, and a whole lot of everything he wanted; personality. All his worries went away when she entered his line of sight, almost making him stop walking to her.
He finally stood in front of her and kissed her on the cheek, “I’m so sorry for the wait. Did you miss me?”
“I always miss this boyfriend of mine when he turns up missing,” she giggled as she looked over to the diner. It was classy and pleasant to the eyes. This was where they had met. Adrian had ended up sitting next to her without thinking, and they both felt uncomfortable so they readjusted in their seats.
They ended up making eye contact and thought that the other was rather good looking. Sooner or later, they shared contact info and started dating. They realized that they both were what the other wanted, this made them meet each other’s family. The families approved of their relationship, and so everyone was happy.
Nothing had gone wrong yet, so it seemed everything would be fine. They loved each other for a long time and knew that they would be quite good together.
“You have a wrist module as well? Here, have my latest and most treasured card, the Scaled Dragon. I was going to use it in emergencies, but I decided you were more important.”
“I am very flattered; I would refuse, but it seems too tempting. How have you been with the game? Any trouble?”
“I love the game and am quite high leveled if I think so myself. What do you think of the maker of the game, Melted Reflection, are you a fan?”
“Who’s not a fan?”
