Gamemaster’s System - Chapter 5 Game Release 005
For the next few months, the twins gave constant feed-back to the group of eight great friends. The thing that Adrian asked of them, of course, was to become Beta Testers of his game. The System had a great function of making the game look like it was in it’s development and not fully finished, which Adrian had wanted to test with the twins.
The pair seemed inseparable, something he didn’t want to bring apart. This gave him an idea about team-work strategies and tweaks for the game. He brought everything together, he had managed to get 10,000,000 pods because of advertisements and the like, something he really needed for the players to come.
The player-base wasn’t looking like it would be large at the beginning, which he wasn’t counting on. He planned to be apart of them and play the game with the players and see how they wanted to play. Melted Reflection, his first avatar, was only a persona for the creator of the game, something he didn’t want to rely too heavily on.
He got his point across that Melted Reflection will actively look at what the player base does, but didn’t say that he won’t be playing, himself. He created a new character which he called Mirror. He also created two characters for Maria and Marcy Jackson, the two twins he brought in from the alley way. Their names were Pool and Loop, which they thought was hilarious.
Adrian watched as the clock ticked down. All the pods were delivered, and on the website, a giant timer dominated the web page. When it hit zero, the game would be open to the public and everyone would embark on their journey.
Once the timer hit the one hour mark, though, Adrian logged into the game as Melted Reflection instead of Mirror. You see, he was about to welcome all the new players that were about to enter. He thought about what he would do, and what he would say.
He looked around and saw the starting arena that everyone started the game in. It was mainly an arena and when a player logged in, they would be seated here before being sent to the village to start the game. Streamers and the like were able to buy a virtual, indestructible camera that allowed them to stream and make videos in game.
He took a deep breath as he felt his friends log into their machines ahead of time and fix themselves up their avatars. He made his avatar larger to the point that it filled a large amount of the arena before creating platforms and making his friends larger so that they could be seen from all the seats.
The clock slowly ticked under five minutes, and everyone held their breath. They straightened their backs and enveloped themselves within their Sin’s auras. Each had a different color and they all looked equally as cool as the next. The Beta Testers, though, haven’t logged in and will log in with the rest. The Sins took a knee as they waited.
Then, the timer hit zero. He waited a minute or two as players created their avatars. Purple lights flickered as the unoccupied seats became full with an unimaginable speed.
Once all the seats were mostly filled, he started speaking, “Welcome, Players! This game, Wisp of Magic, has been created by I, the great Melted Reflection! I am the God who rules all, and I ask each and every one of you, with the most burning conscious, please save this world!
“Most of the players may not be good, gentle, and kindhearted, but what I ask of thee to save this precious marble in our universe from the collapse of demons! These dreadful beings want nothing but death to the Elves, Beastmen, Humans, and Dwarves alike to populate themselves, their greed is boundless!
“These sins, though not the greatest of their kind, cannot match upon these seven, seven mighty rulers above them! Let me introduce these imposing Generals under the King…” He lead on.
“Sloth!” Alexandria Perkins (Alex) sits down.
“Greed!” Esmae Hudson (Esmae) looks around and pulls out a bag of glittering gold.
“Gluttony!” Malori Lowe (Malori) stands and eats a piece of meat off a bone.
“Lust!” Chrysanthemum Bolton (Cris) stands and looks at them all with a gentle smile.
“Envy!” Sapphire Goodman (Saphy) tries to copy the others.
“Wrath!” Arty Everett (Arty) leaks an even more powerful aura.
“Pride!” Agamemnon Watkins (Julian) stands up arrogantly.
“These, players, are the Several Generals! They will be your final end goal before dealing with the Demon King. Put these eyes from them on you and deal with their might, then, the world will be saved as you vanquish the Demon King’s malicious intent!” He had to perfectly say his worlds lest he give away the fact that the Generals were suppose to turn on the Demon King.
“Go, find your own path to glory and fame as you return peace and prosperity to yourselves and the world, so that you can rule it. Who knows, maybe you’ll become a Demon King someday,” Adrian, or rather Melted Reflection, said mysteriously. The Generals’ platforms lowered out of sight and the players soon vanished from the stands.
Now, everyone was off to the starting village, getting ready for a long road ahead of them. Little did they know, this was going to be an intense beginning.
