Gaming Sword Magician - Chapter 188
At night, fighting the magical beasts wasn’t a suitable option. Furthermore, he felt tired and sore from all the traveling and he choose to rest for the day.
“Okay, I will come with you guys. Thanks for inviting me,” Given an invitation, Whittaker accepted humbly. Internally, he thought, ‘Tomorrow, I’ll kill the boss and head towards the eleventh floor,’
“Brother, there’s no need to be so humble. You saved our lives, after all. You can just treat us as friends. By the way, is it fine if I call you brother?” Jin said to make him feel at ease in his presence. Although he was the son of the family that rules Redcliff city, he doesn’t put on airs and he wants Life Taker to act like a friend or be at least casual with him.
“Sure, you can call me brother,” Whittaker said while following behind them. He didn’t mind befriending a brave youngster.
Soon after, they arrived at a luxurious palace. Silver-colored tiles decorated the palace entirely. They were shiny, sparkly and so smooth that the moon barely visible in the clouded night skies could be seen reflected within them.
This wasn’t the first time he entered a palace in his life. He had a fair share of witnessing luxurious palaces and wonderful places. However, he was, more or less, still overwhelmed by the luxurious surroundings.
It felt like a palace where the God of Moon would reside.
“This palace was a gift Lord Azur created for master.” Uncle Azan explained to Whittaker as they were inside the palace under the greetings of many servants.
Everywhere they went, every palace guard and palace maid would all hurriedly bow down as soon as they saw them, respectfully calling them “Princess Fiorin” and “Young Lord Jin”.
Because of their humble attitude and not-so luxurious attire, they wouldn’t be recognized by others outside, but within the city, especially the palace, who wouldn’t be familiar with the filial young lord and princess of the ruling family.
Whittaker detected that all of the guards were around F to E rank. Not a single one of them had stepped into D-rank.
“Princess, may I,” Suddenly, one of the many maids came towards them and signaled towards Fiorin. The maid didn’t say anything as a stranger was in their presence.
“He is our life saviors. There’s no need to hide anything from him. You can say what you wanted to say,” she said.
“Princess, Master Aliyah’s conditions worsened when she found out that princess and young lord left the palace in search of the Desert Heart Mystic flower. It was only after Elixir Master Benjamin attended her did her condition calmed down somewhat. Master Benjamin has been looking after her for the past four days but her conditions currently are too fragile as she worries about you guys. Even though we alerted her about your return, she still worries and want to see you and young lord Jin with her own eyes. Please go see her and ease her worries,”
The maid went near them before announcing bad news.
“What? Mother conditions worsened!” The two brave kids exclaimed in distress and they hurried towards Aliyah’s room.
“Oh, no!” Uncle Azan also followed with a worried face. Whittaker also tagged along.
By their sad expression and downcast spirits, Whittaker could see that Fiorin, Azan, and Jin were distressed as they made their way towards the City master room.
It was guarded by two peak E-rank guards and they were curious about why a stranger has tagged along with their princess and prince.
“Move, we’ll all be going inside.” After arriving before the bedroom of their mother, Fiorin said.
The guards stepped away from the door.
With Fiorin and Jin at the front, they brought Whittaker and Uncle Azan towards Aliyah’s chambers.
As soon as they stepped through the door, they saw an elderly man in a gray robe and his two assistants tending to the needs of a sickly woman with cute features and curly hairs. They were using thin needles to feed mana in her body. More specifically, it was an acupuncture treatment that Elixir Master Benjamin had learned. A treatment used to induce sleep and help relieve pain and stress. She was sleeping but her breaths were heavy as if she would stop breathing anytime.
Elixir Master Benjamin had a white beard that hung down to his chest. Although this elderly man was clearly very old, his head was full of white hair and he was brimming with vitality, clearly shown on his bubbly ruddy babyface. It was evident that he was an expert in maintaining good health.
Although still some meters away from Benjamin, Whittaker was able to smell the gentle and strong scent of medicine that fills the room.
“Your highness the princess, you have finally returned. Thank God,” The elderly man said in a low tone the moment he noticed the arrival of Fiorin but his focus remained on the needles.
Seeing this elderly person and their mother sleeping, Fiorin, and Jin’s worries were greatly lessened and they felt extremely thankful to him.
They moved near the bed and lightly greeted him with respect, “Master Benjamin, thanks for looking after her. What happen to mother. Why did her condition worsened and how is mother’s condition now?”
“The day you guys left, I received news that master conditions have started to worsen so I came to take a look. In the previous four-night, she couldn’t sleep at night and kept on looking at the moon worrying about the safety of the princess and young lord. This caused the city master to suffer from stress and tension; with her heart condition, it became a bigger issue. Sigh, her conditions are not good. Master’s heart beast is irregular and it seems like she doesn’t have much longer to live. Because of worry and stress, her heart condition worsened over the last four days. She refused to even sleep and worries kept her awake. Alas, I had to use my secret acupuncture technique to induce sleep in her.” The old man said. He continued with a regretful expression, “If she doesn’t receive treatment soon then I with my limited skills in the elixir and medical path won’t be able to keep her alive.”
