Gaming Sword Magician - Chapter 194
The Contestant killers take advantage of the death penalty set up by the “Rules” of the Monster Tower. In more specific terms, they are bullies that group up together to hunt down other contestants for their items.
Groups of such contestants had created a blockage in the Grand Canyon where the boss of the tenth floor resides. They have killed so many contestants that the spirit of the tower have been angered. Hence, Jafar had issued this quest to every Ruler. He wanted to rain doom over these contestant killers.
Whittaker starred at the rewards of the quests. The Currency of the Ruler was the biggest one in the entire awakened continent. The value of the 1 Ruler coin was hundreds of times more than royal credits. The Ruler coins themselves were good as a reward but the Floor Skip Crystals were even more precious considering Whittaker goals.
«Floor Skip Crystal»
‹Grade: Mysterious›
‹Effect: Once activated, opens a portal that leads directly to the entrance of the next floor›
“By using these crystals, I can skip three floors. If I use them after reaching floor 28, then I would reach floor 31 in few seconds,” Whittaker exclaimed while thinking about the future. ‘I must complete this quest before the other rulers!’
He needed to urgently make his way to the Grand Canyon before some other rulers go there and butcher the contestant killers at that place. Thus, he could rest no longer. There were many rulers in the monster tower and Whittaker was certain that he isn’t the only one interested in these God gracious rewards.
‘I should first feed the heart rejuvenating elixir to the city master,’ he thought before taking out an Advance Grade talisman from his rankless ring of genesis.
«Invisibility Talisman»
‹Rank: Advance grade
Tier: Intermediate (can be used twice)
Effect 1: Once activated, the guardian will become invisible. Others won’t be able to see the guardian with their eyes.
Effect 2: The Guardian cannot be detected by detection type magic spell›
As an intelligent person, he already knew that visiting someone’s room at late hours will cause some disturbance. He might get labeled as an assassin by the guards or a pervert by people with unsound minds. Hence, Whittaker used an “Invisibility Talisman” on himself to evade these troubles.
He activated the talisman and his body become invisible. He looked at the mirror and didn’t see his reflection. Thus confirming how great and mysterious this talisman is.
‘Now I can move about in the palace as I wish. No one will be able to see me!’ He innocently thought before heading towards the chamber of City Master Aliyah.
This was a crime with a heavy punishment but he didn’t know and his intentions were pure.
As for the others, not many knew about the invisibility talisman. Even if they knew, they won’t have the magical rune design to create an advanced grade version of it. At most, they can get access to a basic version of it; however, a basic version of invisibility talisman is pretty useless as every rich person has mana detection spells protecting their houses.
While Whittaker was making his way to the chambers of the City master of RedCliff City, all the important people of the palace stood around the Alchemy Palace. While looking at the closed doors of the palace, they wished that Elixir Master Benjamin will succeed.

After inducing pain relief and sleep into Fiorin’s mother, Elixir master Benjamin has returned to the famous Alchemy Palace of the RedCliff city. This palace was gifted to him by the previous City Lord, Azur for his contributions to the city.
Master Benjamin knew that Aliyah didn’t have much time left. Thus, he could not wait to utilize the best of his alchemy skills and see whether he can create the heart rejuvenating elixir or not.
He sat cross-legged on a stone bench with a mind-calming effect placed nearby his life bound cauldron. Most Elixir master uses rare treasures such as a mind-calming stone bench to help them in refining elixir. Benjamin was no different and he was using various such treasures to stabilize his heart and mind.
With a command, his attendants brought out a stalk of moonlight grass, 1/3 of Flame Glassy Flower, 1/3 of Desert Heart Mystic Lotus, 1/3 of Vitality Flower, and threw them all into the cauldron.
Unlike Whittaker, Master Benjamin wasn’t confident enough to refine the entire herbs at the same time even with the help of his two assistants. He was using 1/3 of these herbs and hoping that he’ll be able to create a low-quality Heart Rejuvenating Elixir in three tries.
With both his eyes closed, he poured mana into the see-through magical rune designs, and at the same time, the insides of the cauldron appeared in his vision. After that, Elixir Master Benjamin used the one-way magical rune design to pour his mana into the cauldron to distill impurities from the herbs.
However, he was old and not a fighter. His hand signs were just okay. His control over mana was lacking. Rather than distilling impurities from the magical herbs, he deformed them. Hence, failing his first try.
“Heralda, clean the cauldron. Little Qin, toss the second batch of ingredients into the cauldron,” Benjamin commanded his attendants. He didn’t let failure stop him.
“Yes, Master!”
Heralds opened the lid and cleaned the cauldron. While Little Qin tossed the next batch of ingredients into the cauldron, beginning the second round of refinement.
After a while…
“Screw this, using too little heat won’t melt the herbs into a liquid, using too much heat causes essence to seep our with impurities!”
Master Benjamin complained. He had reached the third step but failed.
Now, only the last try remained.
He fixed both his eyes at the cauldron when he reached the third step. The flames became fiercer and fiercer. Then suddenly stopped at an adequate temperature for the herb’s insides. The herb’s insides melted into a liquid. Now, the last step was to use mana and condense all the essence of the herbs into a heart.
He started pouring his mana into the elixir. One minute passed, two minutes, some hours passed… Suddenly, a smile etched on his elderly babyface as he managed to condense the liquids into a heart.
However, the moment he pulled back his mana that was applying pressure, the heart burst apart throwing the cauldron across the room.
Bang! The cauldron smashed on the closed door and they burst apart.
“Your highnesses, this old man have failed…” Elixir Master Benjamin said with a regretful expression. “If only I was better, sigh,”
“Researching on a new Elixir will always result in numerous failures before a success, there’s no need to feel bad,” Fiorin patted him and comforted him.
The people around them didn’t have a happy expression on their faces. Although they weren’t angry at Elixir Master Benjamin, they weren’t happy either. Since he has failed to create the Heart Rejuvenating Elixir then no one else in RedCliff City can. He is the best Elixir Master in the entire RedCliff City, after all.
They all were sad. As of now, their master Aliyah can’t be saved.
But such was the cruel cycle of life.
All living must one day die.
They can’t do anything to change this fate!
