Gaming Sword Magician - Chapter 212
In order to go to the southern entrance, he needed to pass by the exact same cliff where he fought Barbarian Sonjuki.
In no time, he reached the cliff with a stream down below. He was strong enough to jump down this cliff. And he did just that.
He soared through the air like a bird. Plunging towards the stream at an incredible speed. As he was about to drop into the water, he smashed his feet upon the surface of the water, and at the same time, he poured three units of battle energy in both his feet.
Bam!
Whoosh!
Under the amazed stare of the thirteen members of the Blood Oracle Guild, Whittaker rushed ahead with an incredible speed, vanishing in the greenery.
“He’s too fast!”
“His maneuver skill is too outstanding. I have never seen anyone move like that!”
“Sadly, he is our enemy, otherwise I would like to befriend him!”
Even though they were enemies, the members of the Blood Oracle Guild couldn’t help but admire Whittaker for his excellent control over his body and battle energy.
Don’t stop!
Chase after him!!
Among these shouts, everyone chased after Whittaker. Although the greenery was covering his tracks, Alex and Chaim were great experts at tracking. They used his left behind footprints to chase after him. The rest of the group silently followed their lead, doing their best to keep up with them.
This is the same tree we just passed by! We’re running in circle!” Jin Jones said as he looked at the tree that he had intentionally marked a while ago.
Hearing his words, the group realized that they were fooled by Whittaker.
“What! That brat dare fool us!” Chaim shouted as he realized that they have got played by him, dancing like monkeys.
“Jones, use your detection magic to track him down! If we let him live then we’ll become the laughing stock of the underworld!” Alex said he was so furious that his body burning with golden battle aura could be seen shuddering.
“Yes, Boss,” Jin Jones replied.
This D-rank mage had excellent detection magic. Furthermore, he was a war veteran and had a C-rank spellbook with Light, Flame, and Wind attribute.
“Exploitation of Sun!” He chanted and his spellbook shone with a blinding light. The blinding light dimmed and a reflection of Whittaker was shown to the mage.
“He’s trying to leave the Grand Canyon through the Southern Entrance!” Jin shouted.
“Let’s Go! We can not let him escape!”
They all ran towards the place Jin Jones mentioned. The mages with support magic used agility boosting and weight decreasing spell on all the members of the group made up of thirteen people.
What they didn’t know was that they had fallen into his trap. Whittaker had purposely gone around in circles. The reason behind his actions was to mask his true intentions.
Because of his actions, the members of the Blood Oracle Guild were fooled to believe that Whittaker was trying to exist the Grand Canyon through the Southern Entrance to run back to a human settlement that they can not enter. However, he was merely baiting them to enter the range of the formation!
“Finally, I have reached it!” Whittaker’s eyes brightened and excitement bubbled up in his heart, as he looked at the entrance of the Grand Canyon, which was a small ravine with steep vertical cliff on each side.
“There he is!” From far away, a shout resounded and Whittaker was able to see Alex and his group rushing towards him with red faces.
Without any hesitation, he threw a disdainful smile there way before heading inside the ravine with a small smirk on his youthful face.
“Wait,” Alex shouted.
“Brother Alex, what’s wrong?” Chaim asked with a bewildered expression.
Their enemy was running away!
Why are you commanding us to stop?
Second-in command, have you lost your mind?
“I think he’s leading us into a trap!” Alex said but his conflicted expression showed that he was not sure whether there is a trap waiting for them or not.
“Boss, there is nothing but a ravine in front of us. Even if there is a trap, the thirteen of us can overcome it!” Jin Jones said confidently.
“Yeah boss, we must not fall back. What will we say to our dead comrades when we meet them the next time? We got scared and turned tail?” Another group member added. He was angry and wanted to avenge his fallen comrades, no matter what. And anyone stopping him was asking for a scolding!
“Alright, okay, let’s go!” Pressured by the group’s member, Alex made his decision with gritted teeth.
They all went inside the ravine.
Sem and Neko were calmly hiding near the edges of the steep vertical cliffs that flanked the ravine on the right and left side, respectively.
Clomp! Clomp! Clomp! Suddenly, they heard the heavy sound of horses running. They peeked down cautiously and saw that this sound was made by dozens of battle masters running. Each battle master produced a heavy sound each time they slammed their foot enforced with battle energy on the ground.
“They are here but where is Life Taker?” Neko said as her gaze roamed about the ravine.
“I see him.” Sem, on the other hand, had already detected Whittaker. “Good! He is about to reach out of the range of the Crimson Inferno formation.”
“Activate the formation!” Neko said impatiently.
However, Whittaker was still inside the range of the formation. Sem wasn’t gonna backstab him. Thus, he declined his stupid cat request.
“Let’s wait for his signal, just as we initially planned!” Sem calmly replied.
They were talking through the Advance Guide. This method of communication didn’t require mana. Hence, the mages couldn’t detect any mana fluctuation and they all remained unaware of the great trap they have fallen inside.
Whittaker stopped just after stepping out from the range of the Crimson Inferno formation. He turned towards them and gave them his signature smile and a thumbs down.
Why is he standing still?
Alex and some of his group faintly knitted their brows when they saw Whittaker standing there, beaming a smile at their direction and declaring that they have lost.
However, they couldn’t understand it. Looking around the ravine, they saw no danger, after all.
“Maybe he has given up?”
“Whatever, just go in for the kill!”
They could feel that something was wrong but they decided to ignore their gut feeling and go in for the kill.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Many Battle Master used Energy Blast and rushed straight to Whittaker intending to stab him to death with the weapons held in their hands.
Seeing that, Whittaker’s eyes gleamed in happing and he shouted out loud: “Activate the formation!”
