Gaming Sword Magician - Chapter 236
“Oh, what is that?” Whittaker asked.
“The amount of mana you used to strengthen the stone was enough to shatter two trees, but it only shattered one.” Zachary explained, “Mana can be used to increase the hardness of any objects, but normal stones aren’t a good conductor of mana, so once it left your hand, the mana around it started to hurriedly dissipate. By the time it hit the tree, it has lost half the amount. Thus, it crumbled into fine dust after shattering the trunk of only one tree instead of two.”
“So hardening will only show maximum efficiency on objects that are good mana conductors.”
“Correct. Or you can just keep on hardening an object. Just like this.” Zachary decided to demonstrate what he means.
He picked up a normal stone similar to the one Whittaker used, and instead of throwing it after using hardening, he held it tightly with more than its half exposed. Then he pushed his wheel towards a tree and smashed the ancient tree’s trunk with the stone in his hand.
Bang!
The tree trunk easily shattered into countless pieces but the stone didn’t crumble into fine specks of dust.
It broke after Zachary shattered another tree.
“Do you get it?”
“Yeah, I understand. But it will require for the object to be held in my hands all the time.” Whittaker said, “Though this method will go well with my sword!”
“Yes, it’s extremely compatible with melee weapon users.”
They sighed in satisfaction as they figured out the correct way to use hardening. It was thanks to Elder Zachary but Whittaker has also contributed a lot.
Now, they have found two uses of the new power system. The first was enhancing bodily strength. The second was hardening objects.
“The Sun is already up. This is the last time I will be training you.” Zachary said, he was feeling a little sad but at the same time, he was anticipating what Whittaker will do in the future.
Today was the day when Whittaker returns back to the Water Kingdom. The distance between the Water Kingdom and the Wind Kingdom was too great to cover. The Water Kingdom and the Wind Kingdom were separated by the Emerald River, and it was too costly to teleport a single person from one Kingdom to another. The amount of energy needed to operate a kingdom to kingdom teleporting gateway could only be afforded by a limited number of groups and Zachary happened to be one of them.
He was a rich man and the only rank-10 formation master in the entire continent, after all.
“I don’t feel like leaving.” Whittaker loved the atmosphere of the Zachary palace. He was becoming stronger at a visible rate. Moreover, he was sure that he will miss them both after he leaves.
Nevertheless, he was also missing his family and friends who were residing in the Water Kingdom.
He was feeling conflicted.
Zachary sighed. “Young friend, parting is inevitable. You have a glorious future ahead and staying here is the same as burying your talent.” Zachary sadly smiled. He was also feeling reluctant to let the young one go. However, a young bird must learn to fly! “Besides, you are now the next Wind King. You need to build up your own power for the next familia competition, and it is not enough to rely on yourself alone. You need trusted aids by your side, only then will you be able to participate in the Kingdoms Familia Competition and glorify your family name.
As an elderly person, Zachary deeply understands that it is never enough to rely on only oneself. Besides, humans are social creature and friends and family was necessary. Moreover, winning the familia competition was a grand honor and it brings endless resources to the champions.
Whittaker gratefully stared at Elder Zachary. He was already crowned the next Wind King (honor title) by his teacher. He was now officially the owner of Wind Palace. Plus, he was now the owner of the Wind King token.
This token was granted to Elder Zachary by the Ancient Wind Emperor. The medal was rewarded only to Elder Zachary because he had made great contributions in the war against Abaddon and the corrupted ones. Its worth was immeasurable. The token is created by the most talented inscriptionist of the Wind Kingdom by using rare metals and many inscriptions as raw materials. Thus, it also can not be replicated.
No one can deny that Whittaker is the next Wind King.
According to the Wind Kingdom laws, the owner of the Wind King token has a status equal to that of nobles of the empire.
Zachary had remained in isolation for centuries and hence, the token only provided status in name. The Wind King familia only had Nina, Elder Zachary, Whittaker, Goguard, some magical beasts, and the mysterious donkey (the unicorn) that kicked Elder Zachary in the head which resulted in the creation of Azure-Sky pieces of equipment.
Although this token only provided status in name, it was still useful to obtain many benefits in both the kingdom.
“I will find good and trustworthy companions and invite them to join the Wind King Familia.” Whittaker said, “In the next familia competition, I will glorify our family name.”
He now had a new dream. It was to become the number one family of the entire Awakened continent!
“Haha, I hope you the best.”
“It’s time. The return teleportation gateway has already been set up.” Nina said, “Little brother can take it to return to Frost Fall Academy.”
Whittaker nodded his head.
“Before you go, take this jar of celestial wine with you. When your body is strong enough then you can mix the content inside this jar into a water tub.” Zachary said, “Taking a bath in water mixed with celestial wine will strengthen your mana pool.”
“Thanks!” Whittaker said before hugging them both.
“Goodbye, I will miss you both!”
“Take care! Remember to eat a healthy breakfast every day.”
“Make me proud!”
With that said, Whittaker stepped into the spatial gateway and was teleported back to the Water Kingdom.
“Sigh, I am already missing him,” Nina said.
“The Palace has lost its light,” Zachary added.
“Father, what are you gonna do now?”
“After conducting some more experiments on the new power system, I will eat the heart of hope and undergo rejuvenation. Then, I will head out to become a twilight walker!”
