Genesis Tale Of Light And Shadow - Chapter 11 Last Battle
“Today is the big day, let me to my hair.” Anki started the conversation.
“We are not going on a date you know.” Kygo fired back.
Anki ignoring Kygo’s remark continued with, “Actually we are going on a date, a date with the devil.” His eyes started to sparkle as he was delighted by that joke he just made. Unimpressed, Summer shot back with, “Good one, you’re a comedy genius.”
With that comment, Anki slowly bowed his head in shame, he was about to start another scene with him posing as the victim and Summer as the villain. It was all due to the drama classes he took. Luckily, Kigen carefully added, “Don’t mind her, it was a good joke.” In hopes of defusing the situation as he perfectly knew that Anki’s melodramatic act would cost them time.
“Anyways, do not forget the plan. If those guys decide to attack me, I want you to use that opportunity and get Pyxie to safety.” He continued the conversation in a valiant effort to sway the topic away from what just happen between Anki and Summer.
“Are you sure? It could be very dangerous?” Summer asked, genuinely worried.
“I beat those guys easily remember?”
“Well, maybe they were just testing your power,” Kygo added.
“Guys no one here is asking the real questions. When are we supposed to go there?”
Anki somehow managed to baffle everyone. Shocked, they formed a circle and stared at each other.
“Now what?” Kigen asked.
“Fuck!” Summer swore due to the lack of vocabulary.
“Shit!” Kygo just had a bad meal cooked by Anki.
“Meow!” It’s Anki after all, what did you expect, a woof?
Checking the time, it was ten in the morning. Everyone set out, direction the creepy mansion. Unfortunately, a journey which normally takes about five minutes ended up taking two hours because someone wanted food (Anki) and eventually got sick.
At last, the mansion was in sight. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary,
“Maybe we are too early?” Anki asked rhetorically.
As the gang got closer and closer to the house, two figures could be seen staring directly at them.
Upon seeing the group, one of the guys who was sitting on the stairs which led to the broken doorway shouted,
“There you are, the last Tawakari. Let me properly introduce ourselves, I’m Jinzo and this is my partner Bill. We are from the Dark Soul Society.”
“Pssst, Jinzo we are not supposed to tell him where we are from,” Bill whispered but everyone could clearly hear him.
“It’s fine, it’s not like he will be alive long enough to tell anyone,” Jinzo replied, acting cocky as a good villain would, obviously.
“Sorry to interrupt your lover’s spat but can you kindly tell me where Pyxie is?” Kigen asked politely, which was a rare sight, but he was just being smug.
“The only way to reach your friend mate is through us, on top of that, she may very well be dead now.” Jinzo crushed Kigen’s patience.
“Yea, already dead,” Bill added salt to the wound.
“Don’t you DARE tell me she’s dead.” He finally snapped, all the bottled-up frustration and anger was beginning to gush out just like an erupting volcano which had remained dormant for a long time.
“Look, we hit a nerve haven’t we? You angry little fellow? BILL, Get his ass!” Jinzo ordered Bill.
Without a moment of doubt, Bill charged at Kigen with full force. Kigen took the full impact and was sent flying.
Meanwhile, “KIGEN!” Summer tried to scream.
“Shut the fuck up, remember what Kigen told us, let’s follow the plan.” Kygo instantly stopped her.
“BUT,” She tried to argue.
“Kygo, do your thing.”
He picked up Summer and they all went looking for Pyxie inside the house.
“How can this be, why did it not work, I thought I could willingly activate it. Is this how it all ends?” Kigen was starting to waver as the feeling of pain slowly reached his mind.
“Hey, look your friends are going inside the house, it’s a bad idea, trust me. Anyway, you can’t do anything about it. You’re just a weak human.” Jinzo was casually watching as the gang tried to sneak in from the back.
“Bill, what are you waiting for? Get out the sword and kill him.” Jinzo started to get impatient.
“I can’t let it end like this; it hasn’t even started yet. Seriously though, that guy did hit me hard. Fuck, he’s coming.
Close your eyes and focus, focus, FO-KUS!”
Just as Bill was about to deliver the final blow, a dense and powerful aura enveloped Kigen. As he was looking up you could see that the eyes had changed once again.
While slowly getting back on his feet, the aura emitting from him was out of control, just like an untamed beast. It was damaging the whole area around him. A strange line could be seen forming on the left cheek up to the eyelash.
While that was all happening, “Bill switch to full power, this is going to be hard, I’ll do the same,” Jinzo commanded, as he knew what was going to transpire.
“Are you gentlemen ready for a fight?” Kigen smugly asked as he was in the zone.
The intense stare that Kigen gave off was that of a boy who’d just turned into a man. He looked serious, yet gave a little smile.
“Shall we start?” Kigen asked once again.
“Stop mocking us, you freak!” Bill was getting riled up.
He lunged at Kigen in a fit of rage and swung what seemed to be a great sword at him with full force. Just when it looked like our hero was going to be cut in half, the powerful energy around Kigen focused instantly around the wrist through which a sword was materialized and with that, he blocked Bill’s assault without breaking a sweat.
“Is that your best?”
Both Jinzo and Bill were surprised.
“What are you?”
“I’m only human”. While uttering those words, Kigen dashed behind Bill, it seemed like he teleported but right before he was about to stab Bill in the heart, the latter turned around and blocked the sword.
“That move doesn’t work a second time. Even though you’re faster than us, you still lack the experience. I shall show you what real power means.”
Once countering Kigen’s blade, Bill tried a punch as a mean to get some distance in-between them. Sadly, that attempt was negated as after he threw the punch, Kigen seeing everything in slow motion managed to dodge and proceeded to counterattack. Almost instantly, he sliced Bills head clean off his body. Before the lifeless sack of meat hit the ground, Kigen’s sword was already on Jinzo’s neck.
As the lifeless body fell in the background, Kigen asked;
“Where is Pyxie? Or do you want to end up like him?”
“Pathetic, he was weak, and as for your friend she might be dead.” Jinzo blasly replied.
Being fast himself, Jinzo got out of the way and created some distance between them.
“Kid, I’ll show you what the Dark Soul can do.”
A dark blue aura began to emit from Jinzo which also materialized a sword which looked like a rapier.
Without skipping a beat, they both rushed at each other. The impact of the swords was devastating, the ground beneath them practically cracked. This was not only a collision of swords but also a battle between auras. The constant clash of aura gave an explosion of colors which looked just like modern art, dark blue against white, dangerous yet beautiful. Kigen managed to overpower and push back Jinzo in the first encounter but it was only just.
“You’re pretty good, kid.” Jinzo complimented him.
“Less talking more fighting.” Kigen made his intentions clear as day as he didn’t want to get stuck into small talk, he was out for blood.
Once again, they were in the same position when they first started. At first, it looked like they were going to repeat what they did previously. In a flash, they both rushed at each other once again but just before the collision, Kigen instinctually focused the white aura into his left hand and caught Jinzo’s blade. Using his right hand, he tried to pierce right through the chest and into his heart which Jinzo escaped by stepping back and letting go of his rapier.
“Well then, this is awkward, guess I’ll show you how I really fight.”
After expressing those words, Jinzo started to concentrate, bringing forth another sword, which was now a long sword. His eyes turned red, horns began to form onto his head, the dark blue aura turned into a denser crimson color. Both adversaries were now staring at each other in the face, it was a battle of will, as well as physical prowess. Without any warning, the battle began once again, the constant blocking and attacking, looking for an opening in the opponent’s guard all the while defending. Every swing, thrust was perfect, the clashing of swords went on for five minutes straight.
Neither one of them wanted to give up, this was the last stand, whoever lost would die. The further the battle prolonged the more chances of someone making a mistake was imminent.
Out of nowhere, Jinzo’s energy got even stronger, he was adapting to Kigen’s unrefined sword style. Slowly but surely, Jinzo began to push back our hero’s blows and made him go defensive which was a bad idea as the more strikes he blocked, the more tired he got. It wasn’t long before Kigen’s perfect defense cracked with him getting cut badly.
In a last attempt to get away, Kigen focused all his aura on the ground in front of him. Thus causing an explosion which he used to get some distance to catch his breath.
Jinzo slowly walked through the imaginary wall of dirt and smoke caused by the explosion. He was crying, not tears but blood. Our hero was on his knees staring death in the face, as the aura coming out of his opponent formed a skull.
Kigen was at his limit, for a kid with only heightened reaction time and speed, to stand up against someone who’s obviously a master swordsman, was an accomplishment on its own. He began to doubt himself, just before Jinzo lunged for the final blow.
Everything completely stopped, nothing was moving anymore. It was the survival instinct kicking in, usually, the left eye was the one who would change, black to white, but this time, accompanied with that change, the left eye which is white began to turn black and with that got a massive surge of power. He was not only emitting white aura, which is angelic but also a demonic aura which was black.
The skill he acquired long ago finally activated, [Precognition]
With the added black energy, he could now see one minute into the future. The unsuspecting Jinzo continued his attack,
[Precognition: Jinzo, in 0.05-second will lunge an attack which will not be deadly if countered by an upward swing at 0.056 seconds.]
That was just an idea on how Kigen’s precognition worked, fondly enough he did as it predicted, and the swing was deflected. Without even giving the enemy a chance to adapt and analyze what just happened, seeing eight different outcomes at once, Kigen dashed behind Jinzo and stabbed him.
“The Toowaaaki, can’t beee” He died soon after.
