Genesis Tale Of Light And Shadow - Chapter 8 First Battle
Kigen after finally getting everyone to safety finally faced the
enemy.
“I don’t know what you dumbasses are talking about but trying to hurt my friends wasn’t such a great idea. “The anger and frustration emanating from Kigen were intense, everyone could feel what he had been and was going through, all his emotion, all his sadness, all the disappointment with himself for not protecting his little sister, everything was as clear as day.
“You shall PAY!” He shouted while gritting his teeth, the pure rage in his voice was something to fear.
Seeing Kigen in that state was eye-opening for most of the crew, as he usually was a calm and sarcastic guy, a man of a few words, but now, he had changed into a creature who only wanted revenge and payback. The aura which was stemming from the right wrist formed a long and large sheath; which seemed to carry something with the properties of a long sword but slightly bend, even though it wasn’t completely visible, due to the materialization not being complete, you could tell that it was a sword.
Few seconds passed, both opponents stared with piercing gaze at each other to pick out every single move, every single twitch, even the slightest muscle movement would have caused one of the guys to attack thus forcing the other one into defending. Alas, Kigen was going against two guys who were probably more powerful than him, as he was a complete novice at swordplay. But deep down, a feeling started to surge up, as if holding that blade was triggering a long-lost memory. All the possibilities, all the outcomes, what move would be the most effective and what move would be suicide, was being calculated inside his mind at unreal speeds, he could see six possibilities.
A new power was beginning to make itself present, even though the fight hadn’t even begun, Kigen knew that something was forcing him to adapt from the inside seeing as he was going to lose if he made the first move, it was precognition. All those calculations were making it much clearer about what to do, he knew what the best move was, using precognition from gathering all the data he got from just gazing at his opponent, he knew what they were going to do. Even if it was only about two seconds in the future, he was confident.
Then he made the first move, without even drawing his sword, they both collapsed simultaneously with a stab right in the heart, blood gushed out of their chests as if it were a fountain. Kigen was stationary but the collapsing body told a whole other story, and the fight was over in a heartbeat. All the energy which had been gathering up as it radiated from his body was at the breaking point, just like the last drop of water flooding the cup, it couldn’t be contained, and ultimately ended up bursting as he had held back so much of its power hence the loss of control. Just like that, he was out cold, passed out after making the first move, but knowing he defeated his adversaries made him drop his guard and finally letting loose.
Worried, everyone rushed to check up on our main character, who consequently fell to the ground. By the looks of things, he was only passed out but there was a scar running down from the bottom of his right eye down to the cheeks. It was due to the explosion that happened when he finally let everything go, surprisingly, the injury wasn’t bleeding, but emitting a white aura instead. When everyone rushed to check on Kigen, Cobb went inside to rescue the hostage. The kid was petrified, but his injuries were only minor. Sadly, there was no trace of Pyxie.
Meanwhile outside, our hero was slowly regaining consciousness.
“The last Tawakari, you are as powerful as we thought. If you want to see that little girl again. Come meet us again in four days and we shall see if you’re worthy.” Bad guy number one, smugly demanded, while waking up from a deadly injury,
Soon after, they vanished like it was nothing.
“Four days huh, if it means saving Pyxie, count me in,” Kigen replied trying to act cool but fainted soon after.
“See what you get from trying to show off.” Summer mumbled, relieved to see that he was alright.
One day went by since the incident transpired, Kigen wakes up to see Summer beside him on her phone.
“You’re supposed to watch over me you know.” Kigen sarcastically shot at the unsuspecting Summer.
“Kigen! You finally woke up.” She replied with her eyes slowly lighting up.
From out of nowhere and completely out of character, Summer did the unthinkable by leaning forward and giving him a kiss on the forehead.
“There, a present for what you did for that little kid yesterday, I’ll call the others now.”
While Summer left the room, Kigen was baffled and stunned by what she just did, “Either the world is going to end, or I died and am currently trapped in hell.”
Moments later, everyone including his uncle which is a rare occurrence entered the room. Once inside, no one knew how to break the ice thus remaining silent, hoping that someone else would speak first because after witnessing what he had done, it gave the impression that he was another person. Our hero did not know about the scar he got during the battle. Anki, Kygo and Summer stared into each other’s eyes, no one among them knew how to break the news to him.
“Hey, look in the mirror, will you? “Summer asked hesitantly after gathering all her courage.
“Why?” Kigen enquires about the rather unorthodox question.
Sadly no one gave a reply to his answer. So, he took it upon himself and stared into the mirror which Kygo handed to him.
“What the actual fuck is this! well, it does look cool I guess.” Kigen nonchalantly stated as he knew to complain about the scar would only make matters worse and not help anything.
As the tension in the room slowly got looser, Anki asked the question that was in everyone’s mind. “What was that Kigen, how come you defeated those guys so easily?”
“I don’t know, I can’t decide when it works, happens when I eghhh Actually, I don’t know as the only notice I get is a weird feeling in my eyes.” He replied trying to answer Anki’s question.
This resulted in a small debate, which became only louder and louder. Thankfully amidst the cacophony which was this civil discussion, Cobb stepped up and decided to tell everyone about what he knew. His ancestors, the clan known as the Tawakari and Kigen’s strange abilities.
