Genesis Tale Of Light And Shadow - Chapter 9 History
“Listen, I don’t know much but I will tell you why you’re special,” Cobb spoke using a higher tone than usual.
Let the flashback role in A long time ago, before our civilization as we know it now exists, the world was divided apart, and each continent and countries were controlled by clans instead of governments or monarchy. As there are strong and powerful, there is also the unknown and weak clans.
Starting from the strongest, we had, “La Fleur Morte” which is French for “The dead flower.” La Fleur Morte was the strongest because of its immense and dangerous spy network named “l’ombre”. Closely following behind them were, “The Dragena” which was renowned for its brilliance and genius in trading, thus holding power over the currency used around the world. Last but not least, we had, “The Fallen,” a clan with no influence over the world but held unimaginable powers as their members were supernatural beings, demi-human, vampires, name it and its there. All together those three were the pinnacle of supremacy in the hierarchy.
La Fleur Morte was based in France, which formed an alliance with the other European clans, thus ruling over that continent, The Dragena controlled Asia and last but not least, Fallen controlled Africa. France, Asia, and Africa as we know it now was actually very different in that era since all those continents were joined together forming a large land mass which spanned over thousands of kilometers.
For centuries, those master clans ruled over everything peacefully but then one day everything changed, The Fallen were being abused, disgraced and shunned by human supremacists groups, who forced them into war with its closest comrade, the Dragena.
For three years, Fallen was winning thanks to their raw strength. However, once l’Ombre, who had been spying over and conspiring against them finally made their move by assassinating the King, the tide of battle changed and the country of the Fallious was invaded by both Dragena and Dead Flower. Sadly, without any help from anyone, Fallen fell in less than two years, and all their inhabitants were put to work, thus giving birth to slavery.
For the next two years, the Royal family of the Fallen were spared and given immunity due to their high ranking but on the day when Dragena’s leadership changed, both princesses from Fallious, the land of the Fallen, were raped and turned into sex toys passing from country to country to satisfy every wicked noblemen’s lust. This infuriated the species who weren’t human, which forced them to stage a coup that didn’t end well as eighty percent of the populous were killed, slowly and painfully, most of the time sexually abused in the process.
That era was the darkest in humanities history, which went by the name of, “The Black Plague.” That suffering lasted about twenty years, and during those years, the Fallen’s numbers gradually diminished. Not far from the main continent, there was a small island which went by the name of Kingstone. It was a haven for any species, and ruling over them were the Tawakari, a primitive clan consisting of humans and half breeds of demi-humans and other races. The main continent became so toxic that, every abled demi-humans fled to Kingstone. Hidden behind the great ice wall, the small island slowly prospered thanks to everyone helping, elves, dwarfs, vampires, the list goes on and on, there are even stories about godly fairies helping. Over time, The Tawakari, thanks to advancements in technology brought in by everyone’s wisdom,
they discovered that besides the five primary elements, there was also a sixth. This unknown anomaly was named Dark Matter. Along with that, there was also the discovery that while using a certain method it could be controlled thus giving its user unimaginable power.
Sadly, this method proved to be too dangerous to fully control and master dark matter. Many perished in the name of science. People gave up their lives willingly just so that they could get retribution for all the suffering the mainland caused them. Nevertheless, one day, Lady Luck smiled upon them as some members partially gain the ability to utilize Dark Matter.
Among these selected few, there was one who went by the nickname of “The All Knowing” who was said to have complete mastery over this newfound power. After that fateful day, the Tawakari with the help of The All-Knowing started to exploit dark matter to see how far it could take them, this was the start of a revolution.
In the span of three years, the kingdom of Fallen which was practically extinct launched a new assault onto the mainland under the name of The Tawakari. Thanks to their newfound power, they won the war against both the Dragena and La Fleur Morte. Anyone who supported oppression and injustice was killed, whether it be king or queen, they all died. Once again, peace was here, which wasn’t another fairy tale anymore. All the population wanted the clan who saved them from such inhuman oppression to rule over the entire continent, but they refused and disappeared.
As the years passed by, the power of dark matter slowly ended up taking over the All-Knowing which resulted in him going berserk and killing over one thousand people. Ashamed by his action, he went on a quest to make amends and helped everyone he could, in the process meeting the first princess of Fallious, who was being sold by illegal slave trading. He married her and their lineage was set in motion.
Your Father, a direct descendant was also able to control dark matter but as you know, he along with your mother disappeared right after giving birth to you. I think throughout the generations just like your father and grandfather you also possess the power to wield dark matter. I also think that you’re the only one who can fully and willingly control this because of your eyes, that is all I know. Also, the one who your ancestor married was a vampire, you may have vampire blood running in your veins. Who knows?
“That was long ago damn, I don’t care as long as I can save Pyxie. It’s what truly matters to me, I’ll even lay down my life for that sole purpose. Also, my ancestor was an awesome man, this all-knowing dude, marrying a princess who is a vampire, A VAMPIRE!” Kigen replied after hearing part of the history about his lineage.
Ignoring the part about vampires, Summer was concerned about him giving up his life, she knew he meant it. “Don’t say you’re going to die.”
“That’s the plan at least if those guys don’t kill me first,” Kigen replied.
“Don’t worry; we will be behind you every step of the way,” Anki added, in hopes of giving him support.
“Don’t forget about me,” Kygo jumped in.
“Uncle, do you know how I can master this power?” Kigen asked genuinely interested.
“Nope no clue, ask your grandfather maybe? I’ve already told them.” Cobb replied then left, Anki and Kygo also left.
“Hey Dumbass! Go ahead and call your grandpa.” Summer shouted from the living room.
“Already have, they said that there is a hidden notebook somewhere around my room,” Kigen shouted back from his room.
Getting impatient, Summer joined up with Kigen and helped him search for the notebook. Thanks to Summer, they found it. Upon closer inspection, all the writing seemed to be in some other language. Confused, Kigen called his grandparents with no avail.
Kigen turned towards Summer with disappointment on his face and went, “Fuck.”
“Me Wait what.”
“You didn’t have to complete it, you know,” Kigen replied not impressed.
“Well anyways, do something main character.” Summer demanded.
“Well, the writer is probably on the bus writing the next bit so be patient.” Kigen sarcastically started to take digs at me, the writer.
“For the love of god guys, chill out, I’m sick you know,” I replied trying to make up for my lack of inspiration.
“Shut the fuck up, we need to find Pyxie,” Kigen kept on grinding my nerves.
“I swear I’ll kill you in the end…” I sarcastically gave an answer as I found my inspiration back.
Once having another close look, all those writing started to make sense.
“Oh no this weird feeling again, Summer get BACK!” He shouted to warn Summer.
A dark purple aura started emitting from the book; Kigen’s eye reacted which allowed him to comprehend and read the notebook. With this unknown power he possessed; the whole book was completed in less than a minute.
“Kigen, are you alive?” She asked rhetorically.
“The feeling is gone, luckily I know more about this power of mine.”
He proceeded to give Summer a summary of what he had understood.
“Apparently, there are four awakening stages with the myth about a fifth one. I’m currently still on the first stage, even grandpa all-knowing couldn’t get past the second stage. My power is basically this sixth element, dark matter. The book also says that the one who can achieve full awakening will be able to control the other elements and unlock powers rivaling the Gods. There is also talk about attaining powers which differ from the human race. For me, I’ve only been using a negligible amount of the dark matter that surrounds us. It’s hard as hell. Fortunately, my dad left me a small hint on how to control it. Essentially all I must do is focus and contain it somewhere.”
“You actually already have done that because to me, when you were fighting, it looked like you contained all that weird stuff around your wrist, and using that materialized a cool looking sword.”
“BANKAI!” Kigen shouted.
“Wrong story dumbass, this is Genesis for fuck sakes.”
“Oops.”
“Do you know how to actually use that power willingly? cause as I see it, this thing of yours only activates when you or someone close to you is in danger.”
“I think I know how.”
