Gibberish - Chapter 7 Chapter 7 Galaxy
Next day comes around and I wake up on an alien bed, in an alien ship and in a situation no other human has ever gotten into.
As soon as 5 seconds after I open my eyes from sleep, as if on que a small hologram appears on my vision.
It says as follows.
[ Good morning Leon, you are due an update on current events. I am a hologram implanted into your neck that works as a communication and data storage unit]
[ My current mission is to introduce you to the sky sovereign traditions. The Sky sovereigns being a rough translation of the race you call Lizards.]
At least now I know their names. So we got the Nvyr and The Sky Sovereigns. One is subjected to the other and supposedly these Sovereigns have immense technological prowess while the Nvyr seem almost primitive.
“Ok, let’s commence. Please tell me everything you can”
Like so, as soon as I wake up from the much needed slumber I get bombarded with knowledge about the situation in this galaxy and what my situation is.
Turns out the Sovereigns have a Cyberocracy meaning a society ruled by AI. Said AI oversees every single aspect of the Sovereign society. That means it manages the Lizard people from birth to nonexistence and micro-manages all the resources to a frightening degree.
Besides the AI which is akin to a president in this society there are advisors or better said helpers that can provide input on the Cyber entity’s decision making. Ultimately the last decision is up to the AI since according to the logs provided to me the AI seems to make the most effective and rational decision.
The Lizard kind used to be a warmongering race but ultimately ended up a technological race that was in the forefront of technology in the galaxy and whose main goal was to increase said knowledge.
Even though their philosophy of knowledge being power was very integrated they could not be lean on military power.
There was another race. This race were called the Gad and according to the records look everything like a human with the exception of having interestingly big heads/ eyes and more importantly sharp, dagger like bones originating on their arms as part of their natural biological makeup.
The Gad tradition was ultimately a warmongering one and said race presented a frightening level of military movement through their population. The things they lacked they would just steal from nearby empires.
Weirdly the records provided to be commented that the personality of the Gad tended to be on the cooler side of the spectrum and turning a blind eye to their military tradition where quite easy to interact with.
I had to be more practical though. Even though I’ll admit I probably researched stuff that wouldn’t help me on the short run it was very eye opening knowing this galaxy was full of powerful institutions.
My time is limited so sadly I couldn’t keep expanding on that branch of knowledge. We are currently travelling -looking at the galaxy from a 2-d top down view- north-eastward to the center of the Sovereign empire that is located in the middle-east of the Galaxy.
Bellow, down on the south-east part of the galaxy the Gad were located and looking at the map I was provided they looked at least half the size of the Sovereigns.
Anyways, I went on a tangent again. The AI that greeted me when I woke up today told me it was unusual for the Overseer to call someone directly to their presence. Generally said treatment was only placed on the most important matters of the empire or when a big technological breakthrough was made.
Since technically, the AI could communicate anywhere inside the Empire network for most decision-making no actual close contact was needed.
From what I was told my presence was needed on the core planet of the Empire for an undisclosed reason. I was also to be treated like a ‘Famed researcher’ while being transported to the core world.
For the Sovereigns that meant treating me like you would a celebrity. They placed immense importance on their scientists and treated them very favorable so the fact the Overseer ordered them to treat me accordingly was very out of the norm.
From my little update I was also told the little light show I was shown the previous day isn’t the norm. In fact, it turned out the Sovereigns wanted to create a strong first impression and in fact used almost 15 percent of their ships energy reserves to produce their stunt. This meant that no, the ship didn’t have food replicators due to the energy making matter took and in fact had premade meals for the regular ship staff.
I was told around 300 souls are crewing the ship we currently are in. This is a bit more than empire ships generally carry. The reason it was so was because the ship originally was due to do a risky patrol close to the Gad controlled sectors south of the Empire. A mission directly assigned by the Overseer and one that involved high risk due to the Gad warmongering tendencies.
The reason I’m thinking of this is because since I was told food replicators are not a thing on the ship then there had to be a place where these Lizard people are food.
I was starving and going by the timer that appeared on the top of my view I had been getting up to date for almost 6 hours.
I found out during my research that the Sovereigns had a system similar to military ships where everyone received their food on a specific hall.
As hungry as I was i was looking forward to go to their version of a cafeteria and interact with other Lizard people. I wonder how they’ll react to me?
