- Chapter 311: Why Waste Time With Region Bosses?
Initially, there were only two teams in the F-Rank matches, but now the window showed ten teams, each with a different number of item holders. It caught his interest that nearly every team had a distinct number of members.
Among the ten teams, only one had exactly ten members. Raydon’s team followed, boasting seven members, making it the second largest. Conversely, the team with the fewest participants consisted of five item holders.
‘I believe that is what the old man meant when he said that I have a chance of encountering 45 to 90 enemies. ‘ Raydon pondered Samuen’s words.
Presently, there were nine enemy teams, totaling 69 enemies.
Considering the items he was promised and the requirements for obtaining them, Raydon muttered to himself, “Killing ten of them shouldn’t be too challenging.” He pondered the probability of not encountering any enemies until the end of the match, realizing it was low due to the nature of the region.
On the other hand, he was aware that the other enemy teams would likely fight among themselves, thereby potentially reducing the number of foes that were available for him to kill.
As this realization struck him, a surge of urgency coursed through Raydon, leading him to mutter, “I guess I’d better hurry.”
”Young master, if you’re going to choose a target, I suggest starting with the region bosses,” Mell advised, noticing the change in Raydon’s expression.
While the other battle maids continued their discussions, Mell was determined to assist Raydon, even though she had reservations about his ability to fulfill Samuen’s tasks.
“Why?” Raydon inquired, his curiosity piqued.
It did not matter much to him which target to start with at the moment, because he was thinking about beginning with the target that was the closest to him in relation to the investigative-type skill that he possessed.
Mell proceeded to explain, gesturing towards the transparent dome enclosing them. “Region bosses tend to stay within their designated areas unless they detect an enemy presence. Since the barrier does not affect mobs or region bosses, there is a risk that as the barrier narrows over time, the region bosses may already be on the other side when we locate them.”
Raydon’s expression shifted as he considered this explanation. “Damn, I hadn’t considered that possibility. Another reason to act swiftly,” he remarked, his sense of urgency intensifying.
Although the barrier had yet to begin narrowing, according to Mell’s explanation, it would not be long before it commenced. If Raydon failed to locate the region bosses within that timeframe and they ended up on the opposite side of the narrowing barrier, it would be impossible to eliminate them unless he found a means to cross the barrier.
”Death Sense. ”
Raydon immediately activated his investigative skill and started scanning his surroundings.

”Fuck, I can’t find anything like this,” Raydon muttered. Despite his skill allowing him to overlook obstacles, his limited field of vision made it challenging to locate region bosses in this vast expanse.
This skill of Raydon’s allowed him to see through obstructions in his line of sight, but he could only see about 400 meters away. Considering the size of the Region and the fact that he had such limited vision, it appeared as though it would take quite some time to locate the Region bosses.
“Feline, Aurora, could you please stop wasting time and find the region bosses for the young master?” ‘ Mell swiftly redirected the others, recognizing Raydon’s impatient demeanor once again.
“Region bosses? Why should we bother with them? Do you expect us to waste blue-grade invitation scrolls on region bosses we can’t even defeat?” Black-haired battle maid Aurora retorted, her tone laced with skepticism.
”I agree with her. Perhaps if Young Master Galen were with us, we might stand a chance against a region boss before the match ends. However, with just the six of us, I don’t believe it’s feasible. It would be more beneficial to spend this time earning experience points,” Feline, the girl with pink hair, chimed in.
“They’re right, Mell. There is no need to indulge in unnecessary daydreaming. Our purpose here is to support him, and if we want him to gain some levels, we must start by defeating mobs,” added Nysora, the redhead. She then turned to Feline and Aurora, continuing, “You two, find a route with the most mobs. We need to ensure he gains a few levels at least before the match concludes, or Miss Diam will be greatly disappointed in us.”
‘I guess I should not have expected any help from them after all.’ Raydon was relieved to see that Mell was making an effort to assist him, but after observing that the others were uninterested, he concluded that it was pointless to spend any more time with them.
“Ahh, my experience boost and loot will go to waste,” Raydon sighed and turned to walk away.
“Hey, where are you going? Don’t wander off! Stay close to us,” Nysora frowned upon witnessing Raydon’s departure.
Concerned that Raydon, being level 1, would meet his demise if he ventured alone, Nysora couldn’t bear to face Miss Diam if she allowed such a thing to happen.
However, she would soon realize that her concerns were unnecessary, as a remarkable sight unfolded before her eyes.
“I don’t have time to waste with you. Just focus on staying alive so I can find you after I’ve dealt with the region bosses,” Raydon stated firmly, taking a step into the sudden black smoke that materialized before him.
A deadly silence fell upon the scene as Raydon activated his Shadow Passage innate skill, vanishing within the dissipating black smoke.
The battle maids stood in stunned silence for a while as they stared at the location where the smoke had dissipated, their eyes widening with shock. In the end, it was Nysora who broke the silence, and her words were tinged with bewilderment.
“Did he just use the skill without chanting its name, or am I losing my hearing?”
