- Chapter 318: Fighting the region boss (part 1)
”You don’t need to be so scared. ” Raydon said with a grin, revealing his blood-covered teeth, as he stared into the eyes filled with surprise and horror.
But despite his words, his thoughts couldn’t be more different. ‘Damn, I nearly pushed myself to the brink of death. I guess 200% was way too much to handle.’
When Raydon checked the amount of health he still had, he became aware of how close he had come to exhausting his body to its breaking point.
[HP]: 957 / 3100
Initially, Raydon believed that a 50% amplification through his berserker technique would be sufficient. He was concerned that going beyond that threshold would put too much strain on his body. However, as he was running towards his current location, he could not resist the temptation to test the limits of both his technique and his own physical capabilities.
In the end, he pushed himself to the point of exhaustion, increasing the berserker technique’s intensity by an astounding 200%.
By tripling his already impressive agility and strength stats of 110, he had nearly torn his muscles and veins apart, pushing his stamina beyond its limit. He could even feel the sensation of a few cracked bones in his legs, the result of combining his movement technique with the amplified power.
“Girls, I do not know about you, but he seems more problematic to me than Young Master Loran,” Verda whispered to the others, her gaze fixed on Raydon’s alarming appearance.
”Looks like we’ve stumbled upon another troublesome young master. ” Arora added, nodding in agreement.
”Heal the young master’s wounds before we engage in the boss fight. ” Nysora turned to Feline, paying no mind to the murmurs circulating among them.
”Uh, um… Alright. ” The unexpected request startled Feline, but she proceeded cautiously to approach Raydon.
After retrieving a short staff adorned with delicate pink flower patterns from her dimensional storage, Feline offered a small bow and said. ”Young master, this might feel a little uncomfortable, but it’s my most potent healing skill. ”
‘It looks like they have decided to help me after all. ‘ Raydon contemplated the changed behavior of the battle maids, who had now fully embraced their role in supporting him.
It was also interesting to note that they started politely referring to him as a young master even though, up until this point, they had never even seen him as their young master.
When Feline offered to heal Raydon, he gratefully nodded his head in acknowledgment. He was not overly concerned about his current wounds or his low health, but he did want to be in the best shape a contorted scowl.
Possible before taking on the D-Rank region boss so that he could get an accurate read on his own capabilities.
Acknowledging Raydon’s agreement, Feline invoked the name of her most potent healing skill.
“Floral Rejuvenation.”
As the skill was activated, a jolting sensation began to travel through the numerous deep cracks that covered Raydon’s body. Unease crept over his entire body, and it showed on his face in the form of a contorted scowl.
Under his severed skin, it appeared as though pieces of his flesh were transforming into worms, or, to be more precise, were transforming into ivy and tying themselves together.
‘This sensation is far from pleasant, but the healing effect appears to be remarkably effective,’ Raydon reflected, witnessing his wounds visibly closing.
Within a matter of seconds, the unpleasant feeling went away completely, and it was immediately apparent that the majority of his wounds had healed. Raydon took a quick glance at the system’s display panel to see how much of his health had been restored.
[HP]: 2446 / 3100
“I believe one more use of the skill will suffice,” Raydon said, expressing his satisfaction with the rapid healing effect.
”Huh? ” Feline believed her skill would completely heal Raydon, but when she heard his words and saw the still-unhealed wounds on his body, she was taken aback.
‘What are you? Region boss? ‘ When Feline realized that her best healing skill was not going to be enough, she turned to face Elysia with a pleading look on her face.
The skill Feline utilized was expected to have a healing potential of up to 2,000 HP. Even though it couldn’t fully replenish the HP of an item holder with a complete stamina build, it should have been able to restore at least 90% of their health. Naturally, the cooldown of the skill corresponded to its potency, standing at 10 minutes and preventing consecutive usage.
That is why Feline did not want to embarrass herself by using another skill and sought assistance from her teammate.
Elysia initially reacted with wide eyes as she watched the unfolding scene; however, she quickly regained her composure and utilized her own healing skill.
”Luminous Healing. ” Elysia’s typically emotionless voice abruptly transformed into an incredibly soothing tone as she chanted her skill’s name.
In a fraction of a second, Raydon’s body went through a brief tremor, and at the same time, the wounds that were still present began to rapidly heal once more.
[HP]: 2946 / 3100
‘It seems their healing skills are not as effective as I expected,’ Raydon thought, assessing the wounds on his body and observing his HP bar.
“Anyway, that’s enough. Thanks,” Raydon said, confident that his remaining HP would regenerate within 5 or 6 minutes due to his natural regeneration ability.
In addition, the manner in which they all stared at him with expressions that were a combination of fear and amazement suggested that requesting additional healing would have a detrimental effect on their mental health.
‘So this is the D-Rank region boss, huh? No wonder my investigative skill couldn’t detect it,’ Raydon pondered, keeping his Death Sense skill active as he shifted his gaze towards the motionless boss standing a short distance away.
Due to the fact that he was unable to observe any health bars, it was clear that the region boss had significantly more health than his skill could detect.
“This guy looks strong,” Raydon mused, carefully studying the humanoid creature before him.
