- Chapter 323: Fighting The Region Boss (part 6)
Nysora understood that Raydon incorporated a focus-oriented evasion technique akin to their own, along with his skillful dagger technique. However, what perplexed her was that Raydon seemed to dodge attacks narrowly, without apparent focus, yet flawlessly evade them in a seemingly natural manner.
Moreover, his final move to stop the region boss’s fourth attack appeared completely calculated, as if he had predicted it in advance. It was astounding that he had halted the entire chain attack with just a single strike.
Consequently, despite the fact that Raydon utilized three distinct techniques during this brief battle, it appeared as though he was only employing a single technique because all of his moves were so seamlessly integrated with one another.
While the battle maids attempted to analyze the techniques employed by Raydon, Mell finally began to explain.
“He has utilized three different techniques so far,” Mell stated, aware that her untrained eyes couldn’t discern all the details but still able to recognize the combination of techniques based on Raydon’s explanations.
The other battle maids, now captivated by Mell’s words, focused intently on her explanation.
“When he evaded the first two attacks from the Region Boss, he employed the Player Instinct technique, which shares similarities with our own technique but without the inherent flaws,” Mell relayed, recalling the insights Raydon had shared with her.
Curiosity filled the air as the battle maids awaited further clarification.
”Player instinct? ” Arora, brimming with curiosity, eagerly asked about the difference between their technique and Raydon’s Player Instinct. She did not quite understand what the technique’s name meant, but she had experienced its potency firsthand.
Mell did her best to convey what she had learned. “Unlike our technique, which relies on our minds to calculate and evade incoming attacks, his Player Instinct technique frees the mind entirely, allowing it to focus solely on the body. The technique assigns the task of defending against attacks to the body’s natural reflexes.”
She explained that while the evasion technique used by their Demugen family required mental calculations, which resulted in a slight delay in response time, Raydon’s technique was able to completely bypass that process.
Raydon did not leave any room for his mind to think while he was using the player instinct technique. Instead, he only permitted his body to respond on its own to incoming attacks by making full use of all of his body’s perceptions and elevating them to a very high level. As a result, the body was able to respond more quickly to the impending threat because it did not have to wait for orders from the brain.
”It’s incredible. ” Nysora, in awe of this revelation, gasped at the realization of the flaw in their own technique.
She had always believed that training her mind further would enhance her reaction time. However, understanding the essence of Raydon’s technique made her realize that she had been mistaken all along.
Mell chuckled and continued, observing the bewildered expressions on their faces. “Another technique he utilized is the dagger technique, which we are all familiar with. However, it’s clear that his mastery of the dagger far surpasses ours, likely at a high-tier level.”
The battle maids nodded in agreement, witnessing how effortlessly Raydon maneuvered his dagger during the fight. Additionally, until Raydon made his move, the majority of the time they were unable to even see his daggers.
“And lastly, the technique he employed to halt the Region Boss’s chain attack is called Disturb,” Mell revealed, pausing briefly before continuing. “Alternatively, it is referred to as Godlike Focus.” A flicker of discomfort crossed Mell’s face as she mentioned the alternative name, but she swiftly concealed it.
“Disturb? So, what is the foundation of this technique?” Nysora inquired, feigning ignorance of the technique’s alternative name.
“In reality, this technique is closer to the evasion technique we employ rather than Player Instinct,” Mell began to explain, her excitement evident. “While using Disturb, he engages his mind to focus. By observing and calculating, he predicts the next attack before it even occurs, identifying its weak point and preemptively countering it.”
Mell’s enthusiasm for this technique surpassed the others, as she described it with fervor.
“He managed to evade the Region Boss’s first two attacks using Player Instinct alone, then he incorporated his dagger technique to parry the third attack, most likely due to insufficient speed to dodge it entirely. However, he likely realized that his body wouldn’t withstand the fourth and subsequent attacks. That’s when he employed the Disturb technique to interrupt the chain attack and prevent it from progressing further,” Mell meticulously analyzed Raydon’s every move and intention, providing a comprehensive explanation to the others.
And Mell’s analysis proved to be entirely accurate. Raydon had easily avoided and parried the first three attacks, but he was aware of the growing threat posed by the chain attack that the region boss was using. Even with the impressive agility he possessed, he was well aware that as the chain attack continued, the speed would continue to increase to the point where his ability to avoid being hit would no longer be enough. Eventually, he would be unable to evade fast enough, leaving him vulnerable to the boss’s blade strikes.
”He is truly incredible. ” After hearing Mell’s explanations, Nysora and the others finally had a complete understanding of everything; as a result, they experienced the most profound shock of their lives.
They were so overwhelmed by Raydon’s incredible abilities that the question of how he had acquired and mastered so many techniques slipped from their minds. Instead, they started to wonder how he was able to combine these three techniques with such a high level of mastery and use them as if they were just one technique altogether.
Naturally, this was due to the fact that the others, including Mell, did not know much about supreme techniques, and Raydon had already created a supreme technique according to his own fighting style by combining these three techniques.
And yet another thing that they did not know at the time was that he was not really serious until now. And now that Raydon had finished calculating the power of the region boss, they would soon finally see him use this supreme technique to its full potential.
