Godlike Player in a Game-Like World - Chapter 327: Kill Stealing (part 1)
“In this manner, I have the potential to earn at least 50,000 gold coins per match.”
As he spoke, Raydon maintained his composure and a casual attitude, but it was clear from the expressions on the faces of the battle maids that they were stunned.
Even for a group of ten people, defeating a Region Boss in an E-Rank match was an exceptionally challenging objective to achieve. In order for the team to even have a shot at winning, every single member needed to be at the very top of their game and possess exceptional skills.
Furthermore, even if a team managed to defeat the Region Boss, the gold earned from the loot had to be divided among all team members if they were not from the same family. This meant that individual earnings would be significantly lower.
As a result, they would consider it a tremendous victory even if they won 10,000 gold coins in an E-Rank match, let alone 50,000 gold coins.
But now Raydon was standing in front of them, aiming to earn 50,000 gold coins from each match as if it were normal. This was ringing in the ears of all of the battle maids as something incredible.
But despite how unbelievable and impossible this may seem, they were all aware that the individual who was standing in front of them, it was in fact an extremely simple target.
‘I doubt that even the young master of a grand family can utter these sentences. Where did such a person really come from?’
Nysora’s eyes sparkled as she scrutinized Raydon’s handsome face, wondering how a person they had underestimated and considered powerless could defy their common sense in such an effortless manner. She pondered his true origins and marveled at the sudden revelation of his hidden capabilities.
”I found it. ”
Arora’s high-pitched voice reverberated throughout the area as all of the battle maids stared in awe and wonder at Raydon as they pondered the unbelievable circumstances surrounding his birth.
“Awesome! Where is it?” Raydon asked with delight. He had prepared himself to wait at least 10 minutes, but Arora’s quick success was a pleasant surprise.
“It’s about 130 kilometers away from us,” Arora pointed in a specific direction and continued with a hint of concern, “but there is a problem.”
”What is it?” Nysora quickly asked, sensing the troubled expression on Arora’s face.
After a few seconds of silence, Arora finally revealed the unsettling news. ”There is another 10-person team currently engaged in a fight with the boss.”
Upon hearing this, a small flicker of killing intent appeared in Raydon’s eyes as he asked, his voice laced with a hint of aggression, ”Do you know how long it will take them to kill it?”
Raydon was determined to claim the kill for himself in order to secure the promised items. Even if there were not any specific rewards at stake, the idea that someone else might steal his kill was inconceivable to him.
By the time Raydon embarked on this match, he had already claimed two Region Boss kills as his own. The thought of someone else attempting to officially steal his kills ignited a fierce determination within him.
Verda, sensing Raydon’s anger and the killing intent radiating from him, quickly interjected, her voice filled with concern. ”I don’t think we need to worry right away. Even with a team of 10, their chances of killing the Region Boss aren’t very high.”
What she said made sense to the other battle maids as well, and in an effort to lighten the mood, they all nodded in agreement. At the end of the day, what they were discussing was a D-Rank region boss. dαs `n?ν?| сom
And despite the fact that they had witnessed Raydon be capable of killing one of them on his own, they did not let this hinder their ability to think with common sense, and they were still aware that defeating a Region Boss was an extremely difficult task to accomplish.
However, their hopes were shattered when Arora’s next words sent shockwaves through the group.
”It seems they have been in battle for quite some time. If they maintain their current performance, it looks like they will be able to kill it in approximately 15-20 minutes, at most.” Arora’s face grew somber, and her voice filled with a sense of despair and tension.
Evidently, the only 10-person team in the match at the moment was not as average as they had assumed, and they actually possessed the strength to take out a Region Boss.
”If we try to catch up now with our full speed, it will take at least half an hour. ” Nysora began to reflect on the gravity of the situation and turned to Arora, hoping for a possible solution. ”Any chance of stalling them with your spirit crows? We might still have a chance if you can disrupt their team formation until we arrive.”
Nysora had the presumption that Raydon would be capable of traveling that distance in an average of fifteen minutes by demonstrating his previous speed; however, by the time he would have reached there, the Region Boss may already have been killed.
Moreover, after seeing how much damage Raydon had done to his own body when he reached that speed, it would have been foolish for him to join a difficult battle with a body that was worn out, regardless of how strong he is.
Arora, understanding the urgency, responded firmly, “If it’s just disrupting their teamwork, I can do it.”
Spirit crows were typically used for surveillance rather than combat, but with the enhanced speed and abilities granted to them, a swarm of crows could potentially create chaos and distract the opposing team, buying them precious time.
”However, it is likely that this will only save us a maximum of five minutes. ” Arora calculated that this tactic might grant them a maximum of 5 minutes, which was not a substantial amount of time given the distance.
”5 minutes? I’m not su… ” Nysora was about to express her concern about the limited timeframe when their conversation was abruptly interrupted by a scorching gust of wind.
When Nysora felt the searing heat and saw the black flames encircling Raydon’s entire body, she was startled and took a backwards step out of reflex.
“Y-young master?” Nysora’s voice was soft, and her eyes were fixed on the smoldering flames that were gracefully dancing around him.
Raydon’s voice resonated with weight as he asked, “You said 130 kilometers, right?”
The flames that engulfed his entire body appeared to be serene, in contrast to the way in which they had always spread outward. However, it is interesting to note that despite only covering a thin layer of his body, the flames were hotter than they had ever been in the past.
He was standing barefoot on the ground, which was rapidly transforming into ash and spreading throughout the area.
?α?dαs| The flames were so strong that they were using up all of the oxygen in the atmosphere, and as they did so, they showered Raydon with ash that fell from the sky like snowflakes.
The Battle Maids found themselves struggling with the rising heat and burning oxygen surrounding them, causing their throats and eyes to dry. Despite the discomfort, they refused to retreat from the area under Raydon’s influence. Instead, they stood still, their gazes fixed on his face.
In those fiery eyes, they saw anger reflected back at them. The flames that enveloped him seemed to materialize his wrath, a manifestation of his unyielding determination and greed for the Region Boss.
