Godly Talent System - Chapter 87
With a bloody and slightly menacing aura revolving around him, gained by the slaughter of numerous monsters, he slowly flew out of the forest.
The surrounding monsters all instinctively ran away at the mere sense of his terrifying aura in fear, for it was an innate extrasensory perception that was passed on from their ancestors, deep within the blood in their bodies, which told them that the person was dangerous.
Long Chen did not intentionally suppress this natural aura that unrestrainedly emanating out from his body, and only went for a change in his clothes, while taking a nice long bath within the refreshing waterfalls within the forest, before he left the Wailing Ghost Hill, his body all nice and fresh.
Patting his pockets, where is storage bag was keeping the 20 Grade 4 Monster Corpses within, he raised his eyes to look at the south direction where the Monster Hunting Association lay, before shaking his head and walking towards the direction of the Moonlight Sect instead.
It would be far too suspicious if his made up character, “Chen Long”, were to be able to hunt down Grade 4 Monsters comparable to the Sky Realm, when he was only within the Qi Refining Realm since they last recorded less than a month ago.
He would just wait for his subordinates to break through, and then find an appropriate time to pass down the Monster Bodies.
And while he was on the matter on his subordinates, it was time for him to find two more suitable people, and subjugate them.
Because it was regarding a higher rank of subordinates, the Lower Subordinate, rather than the Lesser Subordinate, he had to spend more effort to sift out the potential candidates.
Their talent didn’t matter, since he figured that they will probably be totally absorbed by him, so the only things that did, were their mind set.
On the way back to the Moonlight Sect, while he was up in mid-air, enjoying the fresher air at the higher altitude, he abruptly recalled about the matter on meeting Xiao Wan Wan’s parents.
Looking around his surroundings and noticing that he was already close to the Sect, he decided to just put it off for a moment, and visit at a later date.
She won’t mind, would she?
His disguise was already taken off, and the four guards wearing thick black metal armour with the insignia of the Moonlight Sect on their chest area, that were stiffly standing back at the gates with sharp and ferocious expressions glued to their faces, noticed Long Chen who was flying towards them.
Casting an eye at his robes, they bowed their backs and cupped their fists, while courteously greeting, “Greetings to the Chosen.”
Their voices were loud and imposing, but did not contain any trace of disrespect, but rather utmost politeness.
Long Chen was now wearing his white robes that prominently declared his status to the world, and softly placing his feet upon the ground, he slightly nodded his head back.
Any Chosens in the Sect, were the true geniuses among the geniuses. They were the core of the Sect, and in the future, they will definitely become one of the powerful existences within the City–that is if they don’t fall on their progress in the martial path, so normal guards would not dare to possess a single shred of rudeness towards such gifted individuals.
The difference in statuses was so huge, that it was already out of the way for a Chosen to even pay attention to the existence of a guard, let alone display their acknowledgement at their presence.
Stepping into the Moonlight Sect, he first passed through the Outer Court region, where a bunch of Body Refining and Qi Refining juniors were excitedly chatting and laughing amongst themselves, sometimes displaying combat stances to impress their press.
Next, was the Inner Court Region, which was a tad bit quieter than the Outer Court Region. Here, the disciples were less talkative, their voices and conversations softer and more restrained. The smiles on their faces were less wide, and less bright.
In the end, as he entered the Sky Region, where the Chosens lay, all he could hear was the birds chirping in the background, and the rustling of the wind against the leaves and vegetation.
The Chosens which walked past all behaved in refined manners, their every action well-mannered and cultured. There was no longer that loud laughter than rang out in the Outer Court Region, nor the smiles that were, although less often seen, but were still present within the Inner Court.
Everything was serene and tranquil here.
Silent.
The cool air and dense Qi energy that constantly refreshed his body and mind was soothingly comfortable, and the peace and quiet allowed him to enjoy this moment.
But, under the rejuvenating sensation that bubbled across his body, filling up every cell within him, he felt that distant sense of emptiness, an emptiness that he was unable to comprehend.
However, the path of cultivation was always as such. Boring and dull at times. He comforted himself.
Turning away his head just like how he turned away the thoughts in his mind, he strode into his courtyard to begin his ever so familiar cultivation session.
Two days passed.
While he was calmly sitting down in a cross-legged position, his mind freed from worries, he heard a few echoing sounds of his door being knocked.
Slowly opening his resting eyes, he stood up from the ground and opened the door.
A suave noble youth was revealed in front of his eyes. His posture was straight, and emanated of confidence, while his lips were curved up into a warm smile that naturally attracts the friendliness of those around him.
He was Xiao Tian.
“Junior Disciple Long Chen, sorry for disturbing you.” Xiao Tian heartily smiled in greeting, “The competition will be beginning soon, in the main arena. I look forward to your entrance later!”
“Of course, of course.” Long Chen also wore a friendly smile on his face, and coupled with his charming features, was especially lethal to the opposite gender.
Xiao Tian was dazed for a mere moment, and hastily shook his head, “I will be making my leave now. I will see you at the main arena later.”
He waved goodbye, and then swung his sleeves in an elegant manner, before he flew away and made his leave.
Long Chen left back into his courtyard, with a slightly thoughtful look on his face. During this two days, under the assistance of the Qi Gathering Formation, he had already broken through to the 3rd Sky Realm.
His rate of progress was perversely fast, considering how he had just broken through to the Sky Realm.
He turned back to look at the round Cauldron placed within the room. The breakthrough to his Human Tier Alchemy Talent could wait.
Walking out of the courtyard, he turned his head and flew towards the Chosen Combat Arena.
Within the Chosen Combat Arena.
More than half of the Chosens had already arrived, all nicely dressed in their neat, noble white robes.
Their powerful auras, all added together, would be stupefying for a normal person to experience.
A youth with thin lips, and sharp eyes silently entered the scene.
He was carrying a broadsword behind his back that was also quietly releasing a dominating presence upon the crowd.
It was clean, and stainless, but one would know that the blood that had been stained on it was wiped off entirely.
“Chen Yu Yang, presumably at the 8th Sky Realm. He has grown even stronger since the last time I met him” A Chosen gave a heavy glance at the newcomer while uttering under his breath.
Unlike the others, the Chosens were more restrained and cultured in their actions, and did not crazily shout out whenever they see someone special.
A few whispers and soft cries rang around the crowd.
The next few Chosens came, but there was not as much as a response as compared to Chen Yu Yang’s.
Subsequently, 4 Chosens appeared one by one.
The first one had a bright look on his face, and a devilish like smile hanging on his lips. There was a hint of arrogance in his eyes, as well as an unmistakable pride.
The second one had long smooth blue hair running down her shoulders, and her two petite hands were clasped behind her back. A captivating and appealing aura exuded out of her, especially at those thin rosy lips which rose up into a dangerous smirk.
“Goddess Yu” A few of the Chosens were unable to compose themselves, and softly exclaimed.
The third arrival was unlike the other two, and had a natural bearing that made one want to feel close to him. His lips and eyes were raised up into a genial smile, and he even politely waved and nodded his head to a few of the Chosens he had recognized among the crowd.
The last arrival, was wearing a white robe that covered her body, but failed to mask that slender long body of hers. Her skin was snow-white, and was as translucent and clear as a jade carving. The slight smile on her face was akin to that of an angel, pure and unstained, capable of melting hearts and piercing deep into the hidden corners of their most dangerous thoughts.
The male Chosens naturally recognized her, “Goddess Feng!”
Their voices were not loud, but still could be heard.
All four of them slowly flew their way into the front of the crowd, who moved away to make away for them.
