Godslayer’s Legend - Chapter 180
Sixteen years ago.
The forewarnings were given.
Not long after, the prophesied events came to pass.
They all sensed it then.
The birth of one of them, the birth of a new race.
However, to a select few, it was something more.
Much more than just the birth of a new race.
‘Returners’.
‘Awakeners’.
‘Wanderers’.
These select few sensed something completely different.
They all sensed the changing times that began with the birth of this ‘new’ race.
The first fourteen years could be said to be the beginnings.
They were the early years, the years of ignorance about the true reality, buried deep beneath the illusion.
From that point on, however, things changed.
Ventures into the greater cosmos were made.
These ventures then became triggers for a chain of reactions.
Truths began to be told.
Hidden facts began to be revealed.
The ‘Original Apex Predator’ began to move, as the ‘Six Ancients’ awakened from their slumber.
The ‘First Man’ discovered more vestiges of the past, as the ‘Judge of the End’ watched from the shadows.
The ‘Primordial Deity’ sat on her golden throne, as she thought about the ‘Cause’ for the changing times.
The end of the ‘Candidate Selection’ that had gone on for billions of years, drew nearer, as flames of war that had once been forgotten, began to be rekindled.
The one who once delighted, watched the board with an amused smile.
The once who once raged, watched the board with a calm gaze.
The one who had been slumbering within the board, stirred in their sleep.
However, they all knew, that the ones who would be standing at the center of the stage had already been chosen.
They all knew, that this ‘Era’, would not end up like the last.
Deep within the chaotic void, outside the known universal sea, stood the lofty abode of ‘The Ones Who Stand Above All Existences.’
They looked down upon all beings, at their trivial joys and woes.
And saw a reality, mired in impermanence.
Trivial yearning and petty passions vanished like a mist before them, but these existences pursued, unfettered, and unperturbed ‘Order’ for the cosmos.
A gray-haired middle-aged-looking man sat atop a throne floating in darkness as he flipped through the pages of a book in his left hand.
His dull gray vertical slit hellish eyes flashed with a white light, as he stood up from his throne while his gaze remained on the book in his hand.
|It’s high time I began to take action. An ‘unknown fourth’ from the previous era, cannot be allowed to exist.
For the sake of ‘Order’.|
He snapped the ‘Book of Records’ in his hands shut before carrying on with his monologue.
|The ‘new’ one seems to be related to this ‘unknown fourth’, I’d watch him for now, to see if he makes contact with the ‘unknown’.|
‘The One Who Governed Wisdom And Knowledge’ turned his gaze in the direction of the being he referred to as the ‘new one’, as he began to formulate plans of action in his head.
◇ ◇ ◇
Billions, Trillions, Quadrillions, Quintillions…
No one knew exactly how many beings were watching this scene with gobsmacked expressions on their faces.
Mortals and higher existences alike, could not dare fathom the thought of doing what the being in front of them was doing.
Even beings that had lived for millions of years did not dare attempt such an act of madness.
That planet was the central hub of that universe.
It was where the official headquarters for the main entities of that universe, as such, there were many ‘eyes’ on it every single passing second.
With the addition of the fact that it was a day where an ancient dungeon reponed itself after an uncountable number of years, even more gazes were trained on it at the moment.
Nevertheless, this being did not seem to care about these gazes, and still carried out his actions that could be considered a declaration of war against one of the oldest, most powerful, and influential beings of the known cosmos.
He was a young man that looked no more than eighteen years old with a golden translucent blade that had lines running through it like veins in his right hand.
This young man had a youthful face with silver hair and black eyes. He wore a pair of black trousers, with a long-sleeved turtle neck shirt.
On his shoulders, rested a long black overcoat that remained in its position despite the raging winds that suddenly began blowing in the area.
He ignored the gazes of the prying eyes as he kicked the body of a pale-skinned man on his feet, sending it flying a few hundred meters away from him.
**BOOOOMM!!
**SHATTERR!!
He ignored the small crater it created when the body crashed into a nearby rock, alongside with sounds of the rock shattering to pieces as he gazed at the being staring at him while floating in the air.
The young man’s body was suddenly wrapped in a small multicolored light as the gravity of the planet loosened its hold on him, causing his body to up into the air, only stopping once he was at eye level with the man in the air.
The other airborne man was a slightly pale-skinned one that had bright silver hair and blood-red eyes with a devilishly handsome face that could charm beings of either gender.
He was dressed in a full three-piece suit and a red tie. On his shoulders, was a similar overcoat like the one possessed by the young man floating in front of him.
***CCCRACKKLLEEEE!!!!!
Suddenly the clouds darkened as the concentration of energy in the surroundings increased exponentially.
Many were suffocated by the increasing pressure that came with this and dropped to their knees. Even the main entities of the universe watching in the distance frowned as they turned their gazes to the two beings floating in the skies.
Blood red lightning dropped like rain, ending the existence of any beings unlucky to be struck by this lightning.
Nevertheless, the two beings paid this no mind, only staring at each other in silence, until the blood-red-eyed man spoke.
|You still dared to harm an ‘Elder Breed’, one I personally sent on an errand. And what’s more, is that you did so in front of me.
I admire your courage, young man.|
His voice was extremely soothing and pleasing to the ear. He briefly gazed at the pale-skinned man who was in the center of the shattered rock’s debris and shook his head in disappointment.
Turning his gaze back to the young man who was looking at him with an appraising gaze, he asked a question that the Quintillions of spectators watching this scene in hundreds, perhaps thousands of galaxies wanted to ask.
|Who exactly are you, young man?|
They wanted to know his identity!
They wanted to know the name and identity of the being who dared to stand up to the blood-red-eyed man.
Someone who made quintillions tremble just by existing, one who had a level of power and influence that even the main entities of that universe could not comprehend.
To this question, the young man opened his mouth as a calm voice flowed out from his lips.
|¬Me? I’m just like you, Sir Vlad.¬|
He flicked his fingers and his sword faded into particles of light before dusting his overcoat as he continued.
|¬The name is Arthur Vaughn. The ‘Progenitor Godslayer’.¬|
