Godslayer’s Legend - Chapter 181
Sixteen year old Arthur Vaughn sat on the ground amidst a pile of corpses while thinking about what one would least expect in such a situation.
‘When the calendar was made, how did the dude who made it know what day of the week it was when he did?’
Putting a hand to his chin, he pondered on it seriously for a nearly five minutes before discarding those thoughts altogether.
“Not like that’s useful to me.
What’s useful however is that my birthday is in about 2 months’ time.”
He looked at his academy issued watch before turning his gaze to the 12 dead inferior stage legendary realm demigods around him.
“Varona is a large realm, one with multiple galaxies within it. Even I did not know where I was going to end up when I entered through the gate, yet these guys were able to accurately pinpoint my location.
The only thing I have on me that can serve as a beacon is my academy issued watch. It has an inbuilt tracker that shows the academy the locations of all the students.
If they were able to find me with it, which means that there is a traitor in the academy, one who has access to the student database that allows them to view the locations of every student with an academy issued watch on.
A Director.”
He took off the watch and attempted to crush it in his palm but it did not break.
[Null]
He then spoke one word, and his palm flashed red. When he opened it up, there was nothing inside it anymore.
He the stood up and tapped the necklace on his neck before speaking.
“Now, time to find Layla and give her the other one before I leave this universe for the first time.”
He then crouched before jumping off into the distance with enough force to collapse the earth underneath his feet.
◇ ◇ ◇
Like Arthur just stated earlier, he would be turning 17 In two months.
This makes it exactly two years since the events of the Auction in the Nemo Galaxy where he almost lost his life.
To understand what had transpired in the past two years, we have to begin from the moments right before Cattleya warped in to meet the scene of Arthur getting fed a good dosage of soul poison.
◇ ◇ ◇
Creusery as very proficient in space attribute magic, he even had an authority in the law of space. Using this, he weaved his way through the chaotic void and arrived at the Nemo galaxy at minimum time.
Since he already knew the co-ordinates for planet Nemo, he did not bother to rest and recover his lost energy before blitzing across space to the location.
‘The celestial is still fighting with the deities, even so, on the off chance I meet him, I’d be able to hold my own if I use my annihilation.’
Creusery, like other members of the Devilian royal family, possessed an ‘Annihilation’, a special ability that was only possessed by those who were direct descendants of the devil king.
His annihilation allowed him to burn almost any and everything, both tangible and intangible with his pitch black flames.
Using this, he was sure he could hold his own against the celestial that even Diablo was slightly wary of.
With such thoughts in his mind, he made his way towards the star system that housed planet Nemo. He had just entered into it when he sensed large amounts of space attributed ether condensing at a single point causing him to raise his guard.
‘Someone is warping in!’
The next moment, two figures appeared with a flash of purple light. One was an obviously energy deficient man, a drifter who had an expression of great fear on his face. The other, was the reason for his fear, the person holding his neck with a palm coated in destructive Aether, Creusery’s sister, Cattleya.
Seeing Creusery, Cattleya raised an eyebrow before flinging the poor drifter on a random planet. Ignoring his screams, she glared at Creusery before speaking.
“So you knew, huh?”
“Now’s not the time for this Leya.”
“Tsk…I know.”
Although Cattleya wanted to hound Creusery and ask how he knew Arthur was in Nemo, she understood that she had to get Arthur out of there before asking any questions.
Creusery nodded and casted teleportation magic, warping the both of them into the particular coordinates on planet Nemo, which he saw Arthur on from Diablo’s realm.
**PSHOO! PSHOO! PSHOO! PSHOO! PSHOO!
The duo then found themselves in the middle of a desolate looking wasteland. Everything within miles of them was either pieces of debris from the destroyed cities, or ash.
Another thing they noticed was that the place was filled with the auras of the laws of time and destruction.
In the middle of that wasteland, were three beings, two celestials, and one young half devil (godslayer).
‘No! There is another one!’
Creusery sensed the sniper who had pulled his trigger at the exact second they were warping in, while Cattleya’s senses screamed ‘DANGER!’ to her.
The moment Cattleya was about to make her way towards the young half devil, Arthur and Creusery was about to go after the sniper who had already shot his bullets at Arthur, the duo both sensed the existence of someone on par, if not of higher strength than them.
They both involuntarily stopped their movements for a split second, it was a conditioned reflex in their bodies.
Unfortunately, that split second was all that was all that was needed for the bullets that were already in motion to hit the weakened Arthur.
Creusery ignored the aura he felt from above, one that was undeniably the celestial Diablo told him about and dashed towards the unconscious Arthur.
The air pressure he generated as he moved tore the spear wielding and lightning using celestials to shreds. He rose a finger and pointed it at the distance, the next moment, the sniper was engulfed in black flames and burnt to ashes.
[Authority of Fire: Flames of Life]
He utilized the healing ability of his authority over fire, but even so, Arthur’s wounds were not healing like he had hoped.
‘There was something in those bullets!’
Instantly realizing the cause, he decided to take Arthur to someone more experienced at utilizing the flames of life and also had sufficient medical knowledge to remove the bullets without causing Arthur much harm, his Mother.
He turned around and flew up into space while wrapping himself in space-attributed magic in preparation to cast teleportation magic.
‘I’ve exhausted so much of my energy crossing from the nine thousand circles to here, but I should have enough for one more trip.’
However, what he felt next made his heart nearly stop.
Cattleya was just staring at the scene in silence, her rational mind had already realized what happened but her emotional side refused to accept it.
For her the words ‘Arthur’ and ‘Dying’ could never be in the same sentence.
She had never imagined such a thing happening. Yet, right before her, Arthur was actually dying.
The soul poison was fast acting, his skin had already begun discoloring around the bullet holes. Creusery’s Flames of life were the only thing stopping the poison from spreading any further. A part of her had already considered the possibility it was made by someone with at least a high rank authority in the law of poisons.
When Creusery grabbed Arthur’s body and flew up with the intent of teleporting out, she slowly rose her right hand with her palm facing the ground as her body slowly floated up.
Cattleya’s risen up hand was an action that Creusery had not seen in a long while, and he preferred it that way.
Among all the current members of the Devilian royal family, he was the least influenced by the urge for destruction that ran in their blood.
And like Diablo, he was capable of keeping his cool in almost every situation.
Which was why, the moment he saw Arthur was injured, he scanned his body and delivered the necessary first aid before making the decision to take the wounded Arthur to his mother who was more proficient in using the flames of life than he was.
After Turning the culprit to ash, that is.
However, he could not help but be shocked when he saw Cattleya make that gesture.
As for all those in the world below, they felt it long before they could hear it.
Their impending doom.
Their inevitable end.
Young or old.
Sick or healthy.
They all instinctively understood that there was no point running, no point hiding, it did not matter what realm they were in, master or transcendent, demigod or even deity.
Creusery tried to stop her from taking that action, but it was already too late.
|My Annihilation, is destruction Itself|
There was a burst of destructive energy released from her body.
Then there was nothing.
That was the end.
The stars, the planets, asteroids, everything in that star system was gone.
Silently
No flashy explosion.
Just silent Annihilation.
With barely anything left.
