Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 10
With the recruitment event in mind, Shi Li set out to train as hard as he can. He needed a baseline of strength so he punched out on the strength measuring pillar with his full strength.
1400 ren. This left Shi Li speechless. ‘Within a few days, I gained 50 more ren?’ Shi Li asked himself. He punched out again, but without the force multiplier. It was just as Shi Li said, 200 ren, 50 ren added to the 150 he had.
He calmed himself down and set his armor’s weight to the maximum which was 500 ren. Shi Li then did squats, push-ups, sit-ups and so on…with the armor worn. He did these things in a cycle without stopping.
A few hours later, Shi Li noticed that the armor was getting a bit lighter. It was not that the armor was getting lighter, but his body was getting stronger. Shi Li continued exercising to the point he didn’t feel the armor at all.
At that point, training was useless so Shi Li took a rest. He then glanced at the qi crystal. This made the cells within his body move with fervor. ‘What’s this? My body is reacting to the qi crystal.’ Shi Li thought.
Shi Li grabbed one of the crystals and felt its energy. It was exuding a strong energy that could tear the heavens but gentle and pure enough to be absorbed within a matter of moments. Shi Li then got the idea of absorbing the qi within the crystal.
He slowly removed a strand of dense white qi from the crystal and moved it to his body. The qi then found Shi Li’s body to be a compatible vessel for it so it went inside and cycled through Shi Li’s meridians.
As a Muscular Refinement cultivator, Shi Li’s meridians weren’t open yet so this gave him a sense of small pain but as time passed on, it felt more and more comfortable for Shi Li. When Shi Li noticed that the strand of qi was absorbed, he looked inside his body and to his shock, he opened a bit of his meridians.
‘Well that’s weird. I don’t have a full qi base yet so how I can absorb qi?’ This question popped up in Shi Li’s mind which ended up to him looking at the [Art of True Omnipotence] technique for answers.
…
After flipping through pages for a while, Shi Li found his answer.
‘With this technique being called the [Art of True Omnipotence], it meant that from the start, you can gain strength from different methods other than just tempering your body through strenuous exercise.
One such method of obtaining strength would be absorbing qi and dispersing it through the meridians to be assimilated in the body. This widens your meridians to be suitable for the Qi Creation realm and allows you to use qi albeit in a small amount.’
‘This is truly heaven-defying!’ Shi Li thought. Since Muscular Refinement cultivators don’t have a place to store their qi, it would be impossible to use qi unless they have a qi base. But when you have a qi base, it meant you’ve broken through to the Qi Creation realm.
Since Shi Li was still confused, he looked to the book for more answers.
‘Use your flesh as your substitute qi base and expand it to hold more qi. In turn, this strengthens your body and allows you to use qi at the first realm.’
Shi Li understood how to do so. He just had to expand his flesh to hold qi. But in what way?
Yet again, he looked at the book.
‘The [Art of True Omnipotence] comes with a special qi cultivation technique aptly named [Fleshly Qi Base Creation] which not only allows you to use qi at the Muscular Refinement realm, but also allows you to use this foundation to expand your future qi base and purify your life qi even further.’
“So in short, expand my own flesh to hold qi and create a huge qi base that has extremely pure qi.” Shi Li muttered. With the [Fleshly Qi Base Creation] technique in mind, he grabbed a qi crystal and absorbed qi.
Bit by bit, he can see that his meridians were widening up and the qi was going through small pockets in his flesh and stayed there. This made Shi Li sweat a bit from the pain but he endured it.
In a matter of minutes, his meridians were able to circulate qi smoothly and the small pockets of qi within Shi Li’s body expanded so it could hold more qi. If Shi Li were to estimate the total size of the qi pockets, it would be around the size of a small puddle.
…
Hours later, Shi Li absorbed all of the qi within the qi crystal and it turned into dust. His meridians currently could now circulate qi three times faster than before and the total size of his pockets were at the size of a small pond. Truly a huge difference.
Working out for so long, Shi Li took a shower and changed his clothes. He walked in front of the mirror and was shocked by what he saw.
He actually now has muscles on his body! This made Shi Li happy. But he then noticed something. He tried to circulate qi and his muscles diminished by a bit. After a while, he pieced two and two together and found his answer.
“Does that mean that my muscles are actually the qi pockets in my body?” Shi Li asked himself. He circulated some more qi and his assumptions turned out to be correct. He sighed and smiled, “At least I’m not skinny anymore.”
He then went to the strength measuring pillar, condensed his qi to his right fist and punched with his casual strength.
250…300…400 ren! After training, he got an additional 200 ren! Shi Li then checked his strength without the qi. One casual punch…300 ren.
“So one qi crystal can give me 100 ren worth of strength. Heh…seems like I’ll be absorbing qi through the night.” Shi Li said.
He sat cross-legged, grabbed the last two remaining qi crystals he had and absorbed all of the qi through the night.
