Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 4
The next day…
Shi Li was excited to cultivate the [Omnipotent Self Art] since it would make him extremely strong. Not just crazy strong, but stronger to defeat cultivators of higher realms. Before he does start, he kept the book around his waist and went to his father again to ask for something.
“Father…” he said. “Can I get some money to buy medicine for my cultivation? I think I might need some.” He asked. Since his father loved him very much, his father grabbed some coins out of his pocket and said, “Here you go my child. 10 diamond coins for the medicine. Hopefully this will last you a year.”
10 diamond coins might seem very little but it was different in this world. Diamond coins was the highest type of currency a person could get. Next would be gold, then silver, and lastly iron coins.
…
Shi Li went to the town market to buy some medicine. He knew for sure that cultivation would put pressure on his body so he had to make sure that he reduces the amount of injuries he gets every session so he can go through another one after.
“What medicine should I get?” He asked himself. His father said to buy Orion Heart Powder for his cultivation. He knew that there were medicine that could heal his injuries faster than that but he had no previous knowledge so he went to the nearest treasure shop.
He went inside and was stunned at how much things there were in the shop. Weapons, pills, techniques, and so much more. You could say that there was everything in here. “What can I do for you, Customer?” An attendant asked Shi Li.
“I would like to get some Orion Heart Powder.” Shi Li answered. “How much would you need, sir?” The attendant asked. “Around 2 kilograms worth. How much would that cost?” Shi Li said. “That would be 500 gold coins.” The attendant said.
Shi Li then gave one diamond coin to the attendant. After a while, the attendant came back with a bag on her hand and 500 gold coins. Shi Li then grabbed the items and left the shop.
After leaving, he grabbed the book by his waist and read a bit of the cultivation technique. With images on the pages, he can imagine what he has to go through and it was similar to bodybuilding techniques back on Earth. This made him curl up his mouth a bit. But suddenly, a man shouted at Shi Li, “That’s a defective technique you’re holding there, kid.”
Shi Li frowned and looked at the man. The man already had some white hair on the sides. His back was bent and his clothes were dusty and ragged yet his eyes were still dazzling like a young person. Shi Li then asked, “How is the technique in any way defective, Senior?”
The man then answered, “Kid, I assume you’re just at the Muscular Refinement realm. The technique can give you 50 ren at Stage 9, that could be said to be good. But have you read the whole book yet?”
Hearing that the man said he was at Muscular Refinement, Shi Li was slightly shocked. He then continued to listen and said, “Senior, I have just read the starting pages of the book so I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
The man just said, “Look around the third to last page of the book and you’ll see what I mean by defective.”
Shi Li did what the man told him to do and flipped to that page. He was truly surprised at what the page expressed, ‘By killing yourself, you will be reborn once more and regain a body that is uncomparable from your previous one.” Death? That was something Shi Li didn’t want to happen.
The man nonchalantly added, “If you still don’t believe me, look at the image in the middle pages of the book.” Shi Li then turned to those pages to see acts of self-castration. Now this, this was something Shi Li wouldn’t do even if he was on the brink of death.
Accepting his mistakes, Shi Li then answered, “I apologize to Senior for being narrow-minded and not seeing that Senior was here to give me genuine advice on the path of cultivation. If I may ask, what do I do to resolve the problems in the book?”
The man just said, “You can’t do anything, that’s a fake technique.”
Fake? Shi Li was surprised. How could a technique like this be fake? It was already defective, that he could accept since he can find a way around it. But it being fake, Shi Li just couldn’t accept. Shi Li gritted his teeth, “Senior, please tell me you’re joking. My father got this from an extremely fortuitous encounter back then. How could it possibly be fake?”
The man answered Shi Li’s question, “The reason why I know it’s fake is because I know who created the book. A great cultivator, he was. His only downside was creating fake techniques for others to cultivate and see them suffer. Tsk tsk. If it wasn’t for that, he would be a dazzling person that would live forever.”
Shi Li was shocked at the man’s answer. To think that this man knew who created it. The creator was truly sick minded if he did it for fun. He deserved to die. Shi Li then said, “Since you say it’s fake, I assume you have the real one with you, Senior?”
The man smiled, “I’m glad you asked, kid. I do have the real technique. The creator was good enough to differentiate the fake ones from the true ones by giving the fake ones a bad name. Do you really think [Omnipotent Self Art] would be a godly technique with that kind of name?”
True enough, the name did make Shi Li question it for a bit. Shi Li then asked, “Then what is the real cultivation technique called then?”
The man only said 4 words, “[Art of True Omnipotence].”
Only by hearing the name, Shi Li knew that this was a great cultivation technique. He then pleaded to the man, “Can I get the technique Senior? I would really love to get it since I still have two books to find. Can you please give it to me?”
The man asked, “I don’t give techniques out for free like some sort of sage. You could say that this is a fated chance so I’ll give to you…but for a price. How much money do you have?” Shi Li answered, “9 diamond coins and 500 gold coins.”
The man sighed, “Are the young really getting poor? Back in my day, young people had hundreds to thousands of diamond coins. Oh well. Here you go, kid. Now give me the money.”
Shi Li gave all of his money and happily accepted the book. He checked the title: ‘Art of True Omnipotence’ The senior was correct. He then looked at the senior and asked, “Can I ask for your n-”
But at that point the man was gone. Shi Li muttered to himself, “I’ll get stronger to find you eventually and thank you for this technique.”
Shi Li then turned around and walked back to the Shi clan.
