Illis looked at his opponent as his opponent did the same. They looked at their holographic screens and muttered the same word.

“Hm? Tyrant’s Roar? Heheh. I see. That’ll be interesting,” the opponent muttered softly.

“But what’s with those question marks? Is there something binding him?”

“System, examine [Nine Dragon Blade] and [Shadow Dash],” Illis commanded.

Allows the user to form nine dragons around the user’s blade and attack the enemy. Each dragon increases the blade’s attack power by 20%

Allows the user to quickly move around their surroundings for a limited amount of time. Every level increases the speed boost and the duration the effect lasts for.

“Agility? System, what’s that?” Illis asked.

The system replied, “Agility is the stat based on how fast you move, to check all of your other stats, say ‘Stats Extend.’”

He was curious on how high his other stats were so he said, “Stats Extend.”

Illis’s eyes widened in shock. “How did my strength get so high? System, explain this to me.”

“For every level you go up, all of your stats gain 1 point. The routes you choose shall make your body lean towards those stats. For Muscle Enhancement, it would be Strength, Energy Sensitivity would be Stamina, and Untraceable Stealth would be Agility. At maximum level, they could only boost that stat by 10 points,” the system explained.

“Eh? That’s weird isn’t it? I’ll just examine this later on.” Illis shrugged his shoulders.

Dane asked both of them, “Are you ready?”

They nodded.

He then shouted, “Let the final fight of the preliminary tournament…begin!”

The opponent started to channel all of his mana onto his palm, materializing a dark blue saber. All of a sudden, two dragons circled around the saber as if it was their leader.

“[Nine Dragon Blade].”

He charged towards Illis, aiming to debilitate his legs. Illis moved from his starting position and appeared behind the opponent’s back.

He waved his fist up in the air and striked towards the opponent’s head. The opponent ducked, making the hit miss as he activated his second skill, [Shadow Dash].

The opponent moved towards one end of the arena, leaving Illis where he was. They were at a standstill as all of this happened within a few breaths of time.

The audience were left dumbfounded from their attacks. All of those attacks were blows meant to kill people, and they were all done in a short amount of time.

“How are they so strong?” one of the audience asked.

“Training. All of it is training,” Dane replied as he continued to look at the two.

“They fit all of the master’s preferences. Later, I’ll tell them to wait here,” Dane muttered.

For every slash of the opponent’s blade, Illis would block it with one of his fists. Sounds of metal striking was heard, even though it was flesh and a mana saber colliding.

The opponent’s stamina was almost running out but Illis was still standing strong. He headed towards a corner of the arena and activated [Shadow Dash].

The saber was pointed towards Illis’s heart, the two dragons combined with the saber, uniting as one. With his full speed, he ran towards Illis, condensing all of his strength into this one final attack.

The saber’s aura intensified. Dragon roars echoed throughout the arena. Many were left in a daze from the roar, forcing others to jolt them back to reality. Illis still stood where he was, not giving a damn about the attack.

“Take this! [Nine Dragon Blade: Dual Revolution]!”

In a flash, all of that saved up power was released in one go, covering the arena in a silvery light. But all of that changed when Illis said two words.

“[Tyrant’s Roar].”

Roar!

All of the power behind the attack was removed, leaving only a remnant of it on the opponent’s saber. The opponent kneeled with one knee on the ground. His hands lost all their strength, making the saber fall as it disintegrated and went back into his body.

“I…I lost.” the opponent bowed down towards Illis.

“Stand up. This isn’t the only place to show your full strength,” Illis said, “There’s still the whole world around you.”

Illis pulled the opponent upwards to make him stand.

“Look around…there’s still more to be conquered,” Illis smiled at him, “Right?”

The opponent looked at his surroundings and saw the audience looking at him with awe. He looked beyond and saw the birds flying off into the distance, wandering into locations unknown.

The opponent smiled back, “Yeah, it seems so.”

Dane happily announced to everyone, “The winner of this preliminary tournament is number 25! Give it up for Illis!”

Everyone was cheering for Illis. Men, women, children, and even his opponents cheered for him. Elon gave him a serious glare then laughed happily. The last opponent he fought against smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.

Dane came closer to Illis and chuckled. “Congrats Illis, you won the tournament.”

Illis looked at Dane seriously. “Where’s my prize then?”

Dane coughed and instantly recovered. “Oh yeah, the prize. Here you go.”

Dane tapped some things on his screen and looked at Illis. “Check your screen, it should be there.”

Illis nodded and tapped on his screen.
