Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 57
“But why me though?” Illis asked.
“Why not? I want to make you my disciple,” the man grinned.
Maxwell calmed himself down and finally stood up. He pointed towards Illis and shouted, “Why him?”
The man wryly chuckled, “Well, his route is purely Muscle Enhancement. I’m at the same route as well. I have the most experience on what’s good for him.”
After hearing that answer, Maxwell kneeled down to the ground, tears falling from his eyes. He couldn’t accept it at all.
“Why him…not me?”
The man scratched his cheek and sighed lightly. “You also have good potential but I don’t have experience in sword arts. I can at least give you a book.”
The man then waved his left arm upwards in a flash, opening a spatial rift.
Illis was surprised. “What’s that?”
The man replied, “Spatial rift. Allows me to store a lot of stuff,” he grinned. “Nifty right?”
Illis nodded repeatedly. “Yeah. Can I have one?”
The man rummaged through his belongings within the spatial rift as he answered, “Sure, I can give you one later.”
…
“Aha! Found it.”
Minutes later, he finally found the book that he was giving to Maxwell. He grabbed the book and closed the spatial rift.
He walked towards Maxwell and said with a smile, “Here you go. It’s a sword art, but as I said, I’m not really good with swords so good luck training with it.”
He gave Maxwell the book. Maxwell looked up at the man with tears still in his eyes and received it with a nod.
Maxwell opened the book and read through it a bit. Later, he wiped his tears and instantly stood up in excitement.
He faced towards the man and bowed numerous times. “Thank you senior for your grace! This shall help me become a better swordsman!”
The man waved his hand, telling him not to worry about it. “As long as it helps you, then that’s fine. Remember to work hard in your training.”
Illis looked at the man then looked at Maxwell who was smiling. He then pointed at himself. “Why does he get one, but why not me?”
The man smirked, “That’s because you should accept me as your master before I give you anything.”
Illis thought about it a while and dodged the offer. He looked at Maxwell and asked, “What did he give you?”
Maxwell, who was absorbing the contents of the book, was jolted back to reality. “Huh? What now?”
He heard Illis ask the same question again so he threw it to him.
Illis received the book and scanned through it. “Nothing interesting about it though. But I’m no swordsman so I’ll leave this to the system.”
“System, examine this book.”
The system beamed a laser towards the book, examining the book’s contents and onward. Minutes later, the system displayed information on the book on Illis’s screen.

Illis’s eyes widened in shock as he exclaimed, “This is a good skill!”
Maxwell nodded as he excitedly shouted, “I know right?”
Illis tossed it back towards Maxwell and asked, “What are you going to do with the skill though?”
Maxwell’s eyes lightened up with determination. “I plan to combine it with my Nine Dragon Blade to make an even stronger skill!”
Illis said one word in surprise. “Woah.”
Maxwell grinned. “I know right? I’ll learn this skill right now to start combining both of them.”
Maxwell tapped some things on the system to learn the skill, but he was denied. He frowned as he looked at the screen.
Illis saw his expression so he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I can’t learn the skill. There’s a condition. Let me show you.”
Maxwell tapped a few more things on the screen and sent it to Illis.
Illis looked at his screen with surprise. He rubbed his eyes numerous times to check if his eyes were fooling him.
——–
You are not able to learn this skill.
Conditions to learn the skill:
Achieve Silver Body or higher.
——–
“Oh yeah, I just remembered. You need a minimum of Silver Body to really start using it,” the man said.
Illis became confused. “I thought you could learn all skills at level 1 or something?”
The man shook his head. “Some skills need you to exert force over 100% which puts physical and mental strain on your body. A level 1 body or a Bronze Body couldn’t handle that much.”
He continued, “That is why there are conditions to skills that do so. To make sure no one would rashly pick a skill that put too much strain on them.”
Illis nodded. “Hmm…I see then.”
The man looked at Maxwell and said, “Well you better keep training then. You really want to fuse them right?”
Maxwell seriously replied, “I do. I’ll exert 200% more effort on these next few days.”
The man smiled. “That’s good.” He looked at Illis and asked one more time, “So are you willing to become my disciple?”
Illis instantly kowtowed towards the man. “Illis accepts you as my master as long as you give me all of your precious things.”
The man coughed. He looked at Maxwell. “Is this kid really like this?”
Maxwell sighed. “Yeah, ever since I’ve met him, he’s like that. He has his own reasons though.”
The man’s eyes widened a bit. “Oh? What reasons?”
Illis looked at the man and explained, “I have amnesia so I don’t know anything about my past. I thought that probably, if I become stronger, I would remember.”
The man finally realized it. He grinned and said to Illis, “I can help you recover some of your memory as long as you accept me as your master.”
Illis exclaimed in surprise. “Really?!”
The man nodded with a smile. “Really. I’ll also give you some stuff to make you level faster.”
Illis kowtowed yet again continuously. “ILLIS WILL ACCEPT YOU AS MASTER! MASTER PLEASE ACCEPT ME AS YOUR DISCIPLE!”
Maxwell covered his ears since Illis was shouting. “Sheesh Illis, you don’t need to shout that hard.”
The man made Illis stop kowtowing and let him stand up. “Anyways we have to leave now so I can train you. Grab my hand.”
Illis grabbed the man’s hand as they jumped through the window.
Maxwell ran towards the window with worry, fearing something bad might happen.
Seconds later, the man and Illis were floating in mid-air. Illis was grinning at Maxwell.
“What? You scared I’ll die? I won’t die that easily!” Illis chuckled. “We’ll see each other in the city tournament soon!”
With a boom, Illis and the man were gone out of Maxwell’s sight.
Maxwell sighed and turned around, only to see Dane standing still on the main hall.
“Who was that?” Dane asked curiously. He felt a terrifying aura suppress him a while ago.
Maxwell replied, “A Diamond Body stage Anima.”
Dane took a step backward screamed out, “D-d-d-Diamond Body?!”
“Yeah,” Maxwell nodded. “He also took Illis.”
If the Diamond Body person was enough to shock Dane, that statement alone made him faint and fall to the ground.
Maxwell saw this and hurriedly rushed towards Dane.
“Dane? Are you okay?”
“Dane! Wake up!”
