Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 58
A day has passed since Illis and the man left the airship.
Dane was on his bed, sleeping peacefully, as if nothing happened. He then opened his eyes and sat up abruptly. He felt that something was off.
“What? Where? Who?”
These words were the first things he said when he woke up. He looked around, seeing that he was currently in his room.
“Where am I? How did I get here?”
He took a deep breath and asked himself this question. Listening intently around his surroundings, he heard some light footsteps. The door of his room was opened, revealing Maxwell that was holding onto medicine and towels.
Maxwell looked at Dane and smiled. “You finally woke up! Man, it was so hard carrying you here and nursing you. Luckily we had some medicine on board.”
Dane was perplexed. ‘Medicine? Nursing? Finally woke up?’
And then something clicked in his mind.
He fell unconscious on the main hall due to a man entering the airship with a high stage of modification. And also…
“Where’s Illis?!” Dane frantically asked Maxwell this question. He remembered that it happened yesterday. He was hoping that it didn’t really happen.
Maxwell sighed sadly. “He’s been taken by the man we met yesterday.”
Dane exclaimed in a sorrowful tone, “No! That can’t be!”
Maxwell went closer to Dane and patted his back as an attempt to comfort him. “Take your time. Everything that happened before was real.”
Dane’s memories were finally back to normal. “It wasn’t a dream? Then what was me giving Illis the experience card for then? All for nothing? I can’t accept that!” He shed some tears.
Maxwell sighed. “I’ll just let you be. I’m going to go training in the main hall.”
Maxwell put down the items he was holding on to a nearby table, and turned around to walk towards the door.
But then, Maxwell remembered something. He turned around and saw Dane hugging his legs, wallowing in sorrow.
“Hey Dane,” Maxwell said.
Dane looked up at Maxwell, tears still visible around his eyes. “Yeah?”
Maxwell smiled. “We’ll see Illis at the city tournament. Don’t worry.”
Dane wiped off his tears and quickly cheered up. “Really?”
Maxwell nodded. “Really.”
Dane smiled. “Thanks. Now go and train, you need to at least last until the final round to see Illis right?”
Maxwell chuckled. “Haha. I guess you’re right. I’ll be training then.”
…
Shi Li was looking at his map, aiming to go to the place he crossed out.
“Hmm…I hope this Memory Desert would help me regain my previous memories,” he muttered inwardly.
Since the Memory Desert had the word “memory”, Shi Li thought that it was the perfect place to regain his memories. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.
Memory Desert was called that since it was home to numerous sand and dust storms, sweeping the people who trek this desert off the world, hence the name.
But Shi Li still continued to traverse further, holding on to his hopes.
When he was walking, he felt a sensation behind his back that he was being watched. This made Shi Li become a bit more vigilant as he walked.
This sensation slowly became stronger, until it reached the point of it being noticed by Shi Li. He was now fully on guard, prepared to fight against the one that dared to tail him.
Thinking that it was time, he decided to shout, “Time to stop this farce. Whoever you are, come out.”
After a while, he heard some soft clapping from his right. He turned to the right and saw two silhouettes that looked alike.
Shi Li stared at them and wondered, “Is this a mirage? How could there be two people with the same looks?”
One of them coughed lightly and said, “Hey Shi Li, nice place you’ve picked here. This makes it easier for us to clean up.” The person grinned.
Shi Li asked, still on guard, “Who are you guys?”
The other one answered, “Us? We’re from the Yan clan. I’m Yan Qiu,” he then pointed towards the lookalike, “And he’s Yan Xiu.”
Shi Li was confused. “Then why are you tailing me? Did I do anything to offend you both?”
Hearing the question, Yan Xiu’s expression turned grim. “Do you remember killing off a branch of the Yan Clan? If not, how about killing Commander Tianhui?”
Shi Li tried to recall these information but his head ached intensely. “Sorry, I don’t remember anything. Every time I try, my head hurts.”
Yan Qiu looked at his brother, “Head aching? Hey brother, doesn’t that sound like amnesia?”
Yan Xiu nodded. “It does.”
He grinned. “Well this makes it even better.”
Shi Li looked at them and tilted his head. “Better? What do you mean?”
Both Yan Qiu and Yan Xiu grinned. “Since you have amnesia, we’ll kill you before you even know who you are.”
Shi Li took a step back, fearing that this might become a long fight.
“This doesn’t look so good for me.”
…
Illis and the man landed near a forest that was teeming with monsters.
Illis looked at the man and asked, “Why are we here?”
The man answered with a smile, “For training of course!”
Illis tilted his head in confusion.
“Eh?”
The man sighed. “I tread the route of Muscle Enhancement, same goes for you. For us that tread this path, training in real life situations makes us grow faster, if not, makes our foundations more firm.
I have trained with this regime for countless years and people say that it’s one of the most ruthless training regimes ever devised.”
He looked at Illis with a serious gaze. “Do you still want to train with me?”
Illis thought about it for a while and looked at the man with a firm gaze. “I’ll train under your commands, as long as you restore my memory!”
He realized the words he said and looked at the man with an annoyed look. “Hey…you told me that you’d recover my memory!”
The man chuckled a bit. “That’s saved for after the training course. There should always be a condition for that, no?”
Illis shouted, “EH?! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THAT EARLIER?!”
The man laughed. “You know, they don’t call me the Cruelest Bodybuilder of Erudys for nothing.”
“Listen to me, kid.” He looked at Illis again with a serious gaze.
“Remember that everything has its own things to be sacrificed. No sacrifice equals no gain. Imprint that into your mind, okay?”
He repeated the man’s words over and over in his mind. He then nodded. “I’ve imprinted it. So when do we start training?”
The man answered, “Later this night.”
Illis’s eyes widened in shock. “But that’s when the monsters are more active!”
The man shrugged his shoulders. “So what? It’s not called the most ruthless training regime for nothing. Rest up and if you want, contact your friends and loved ones. We’re going to do training up until the tournament starts.”
Illis gave in to the man’s words and sighed dejectedly. He sat down on the floor. He then looked at the man and asked, “Since you’re my master, could you at least bother to tell me your name?”
The man looked at Illis and smiled.
“Remember this real well, kid.”
“Your master’s name is Terry Crews.”
