Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 59
Night time.
Illis opened his eyes from a long nap.
Terry came close to Illis and said seriously, “Prepare your things. The training starts now.”
Illis stood up and did some basic stretching. He then cracked his knuckles.
“Well let’s get this show on the road.”
…
Terry looked at Illis and said, “Whatever happens in the forest, even if you get severely injured and die, I won’t help you at all.”
Illis was shocked. “Eh? Why do you say that master?”
Terry replied, “I once had a disciple back then. He was used to my protection that in the end, he was killed through assassination.”
Illis’s body shivered a bit. How would it feel if he was surrounded by people, just to get killed in the end? He wondered.
Terry lightly coughed. “Well anyways, you’re facing off again Bronze and Silver beasts inside the forest so you’ll be fine.”
“Wait…Bronze and Silver beasts? Even those of non-Anima origin can tread the path of our genetic modification?” Illis tilted his head in confusion.
“Well yes, technically. These beasts have absorbed the energy surrounding our world and ended up refining them as their own. This made their bodies even sturdier and more powerful.” Terry explained.
“But wait a minute, I thought Animas can’t absorb worldly energy since our bodies aren’t suited for the path of cultivation?” Illis asked again.
“Uh…” Terry scratched his cheeks. He then got angry. “Why are you dawdling here, go and head into the forest!”
Terry kicked Illis in the back, sending him flying tens of meters away from where Terry was.
“Man…” Terry sighed. “That kid should really be less attentive to these things.”
…
“Ouch…”
Illis rubbed his butt since he landed butt first. “If Master would kick me off to here, then he should’ve said so!” he harrumphed softly.
He couldn’t talk that loudly at this time since the monsters are more active. No sane Anima would come into the forests at the night time, because of this same reason.
He looked around him and saw that there were trees and plants everywhere. There were no animals to be seen.
He grabbed some twigs and branches off of trees and piled them up to try and make a fire. Since he was going to be here for a few days, why not spend it more luxuriously right? Even if it meant just sleep on the ground with the fire beside him.
He utilized a technique that he learned from a book to start the fire. Slowly, the fire grew brighter and brighter. What was once a dim red, slowly brightened to orange and then pale yellow.
Illis smiled. “This is the first fire I’ve ever made. I should really thank that book I read,” he muttered inwardly.
Before the training within the forest started, Illis asked his master to give him books on practical knowledge. Since he had amnesia, he might’ve forgotten to do that.
His master pondered about it for a while and tore open a spatial rift to grab some books. Those books were given to Illis to read. Illis absorbed all of the information within those books, thanks to the system.
“Good thing the system works anywhere,” he smiled. “But when can I fight against a beast to test my skills?”
Coincidentally, a wolf that was around 3 meters long saw the fire Illis made and slowly sneaked closer and closer, hoping to catch Illis off guard.
Illis looked around his surroundings and saw that there was no beast aiming to eat him. He checked one more time and then layed down on the ground, closing his eyes.
‘This is the perfect chance!’ the wolf thought. The wolf bent its hind legs backward, and lunged towards Illis with his jaw wide open.
The wolf was gradually getting closer and closer to Illis, it was finally going to get a sumptuous meal. With saliva dripping out of its mouth, it bited hard on Illis’s chest.
‘Ooh! No resistance at all!’ the wolf happily thought. He got a good prey this time. The human was so weak under the pressure of its wolf fangs. It checked if it really got Illis, and what it saw stupefied the wolf.
The human was still fine. Illis was still sleeping soundly on the ground, getting a bit nearer to the fire since it was a bit cold.
The wolf thought about it for a while and realized that when it bited down, the human barely dodged it by turning to the right.
‘That could only be a coincidence. Let me try again!’
The wolf moved a few steps away from Illis and started to charge forward again with its jaw wide open.
The jaw was over Illis’s chest, perfectly fitting it. If the jaw closed, it would kill Illis in an instant!
Excitedly, it bited down, only to be stupefied yet again. Instead of dodging by turning around, Illis decided to stand up and jump upwards.
While he was in mid-air, he did a backflip, landing on the other side of the fire. He then layed down on the ground again, still with his eyes closed. He went back to sleep.
After two failed attempts, the wolf had ran out of patience. It jumped over the fire, heading yet again towards Illis. This time, Illis opened his eyes in annnoyance.
He hurriedly stood up and dodged the bite that was aiming for him.
“Man, can’t I at least get some shuteye in here?” Illis complained.
Illis was standing opposite of where the wolf was, in front of him. The wolf growled in anger. It was already hungry.
“Well it is training,” Illis sighed.
“Idenitfy.”

Illis’s eyes lightened up a bit. He was becoming a bit interested. “You’re actually a Bronze wolf! Well I’ll offer you something, we face each other head-on and see who falls first. If I fall, you kill me. And if you fall…”
“I’ll kill you.”
