Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 65
Terry held the herb up in the air as he looked at Illis. “I need you to put a drop of blood on this herb.”
“But why though?” Illis couldn’t help but ask.
“Normally, herbs like these ones right here don’t have the effect you want unless you do something special. In this case, it’s dripping blood of the recipient on the herb to gain the memory recovery effect,” Terry replied.
“What are you waiting for?” Terry frowned. “Don’t you want to recover your memory?”
Illis hurriedly bit his finger to open a small wound. He then squeezed out a drop of blood which the herb absorbed in mere moments.
Seconds later, the herb changed colors, from a gentle jade green into a dazzling golden yellow. The faint aura it was emanating earlier had intensified, making Illis feel like his soul wanted to jump out of his body.
Illis looked at Terry with a curious gaze. Terry saw this and smiled back at Illis. “Lie down on the bed,” he said.
Illis did what he was told to do and laid down. “What do I do next?”
“Close your eyes and endure the mental pain that’s going to come okay.” Illis closed his eyes and let Terry do what he was supposed to do.
Terry imbued some of his aura within the herb, strengthening its aura even further. He then placed the herb on top of Illis’s forehead, waiting for the process to happen.
Slowly, the herb passed through Illis’s forehead with no resistance. Golden ripples spread throughout Illis’s forehead, it was a sign that the herb was working.
…
Illis felt something pass through his forehead, heading towards its brain.
‘It must be the herb,’ he thought. And yes it was. A golden herb was suspended in mid-air in the center of his brain, waiting to do work.
All of a sudden, thin golden strands spread out from the herb, charging towards the hazy memories Illis had. Bit by bit, the fog that was covering his memories was slowly being lifted.
It was great news for Illis…if not only for the pain he was enduring.
Beads of cold sweat formed all over his body, dripping down to cool down his brain. His eyes may be closed but he gritted his teeth, as he didn’t want to interrupt the process.
Gradually, more and more memories started to become clear to Illis, as if they were his in the first place…and yes they were.
As time passed by, the strands attacking the fog became less and less until there was no more strand left.
Illis let out a sigh of relief as he knew that the process was over. But there was something wrong, the herb was still inside his brain.
He opened his eyes and sat up straight to look at Terry. “Master, the herb is still inside my brain. Is that normal?”
“OF COURSE IT IS!” Terry exclaimed, only to cough afterwards. “Ehem. Yes,yes, of course it is.”
“The herb does not only recover your memory, it also enhances the strength of your mind and soul passively. Did I mention that it also protects you from mental attacks?”
Terry smiled as he looked at Illis, expecting an expression of delight or surprise. What he got instead was a look of daze.
Terry frowned for a while but he understood. “Oh yeah, the memory won’t be recovered as soon as the fog clears up. It will be inputted in one go after a few minutes.”
He then walked outside and did some stretches. “Well, it’s been a while since I’ve exerted my full strength,” he smiled. “Let’s do some leisurely killing!”
…
‘Essence.’
‘Art.’
‘Cultivation.’
‘Birth.’
Every word started to flash through Illis’s mind, being imprinted deeply into his brain. He thought it would hurt again, but instead, his body turned stiff to combat the pain from the imprinting.
Minutes later, Illis finally got back to reality. He had a half smile on his face. He looked at his hands to see if it was a dream. He then grunted lightly to confirm that there was nothing wrong.
“It seems that I haven’t recovered all of my memory, only around 25% of it. But that alone will suffice for now.”
Illis’s eyes then lit up in excitement. He stood up and started to find Terry.
“I must find Master and tell him this! This may change the path we Animas take forever!” he muttered.
Minutes later, he saw Terry sitting on a tree stump, taking in the beautiful surroundings…if you could call it beautiful.
Corpses of different beasts were scattered around Terry, like some abstract masterpiece. Illis didn’t mind this and started to shout out, “Master! Master! I’ve discovered something!”
Terry, who was gazing at the wide horizon, heard this and turned his head to face Illis. “Oh Illis! Done with the memory recovery!” He smiled.
“Un!” Illis nodded. “I’ve recovered 25% of my memory but that will suffice for now. Anyways, I have to tell you something!”
Terry raised his eyebrows. “Oh? Tell me. I’m all ears.”
Illis took a deep breath and exhaled. “After rummaging through my recovered memory, I saw a cultivation technique!”
“A cultivation technique?” Terry asked. “You do know that our body can’t cultivate right?”
“Indeed I do,” Illis replied. “But the cultivation technique doesn’t need you to absorb worldly energy, but instead…to lift weights!”
“Lift…weights?!” Terry exclaimed in shock. Absorbing worldly energy might make the Animas go berserk, but lifting simple weights was of no problem to them.
Terry stood up and got closer to Illis, fearful of missing out every word. He leaned and then softly said, “Okay. You have my full attention! Can I know the name of the cultivation technique?”
Illis nodded and smiled lightly. “Of course, Master. You’re my Master for a reason. The name of this cultivation technique is…”
“[Art of True Omnipotence]!”
