These words could be heard everyday as Terry trained Illis. Illis did what he was told to, even exerting more effort when needed.

 

The reason as to why he had to exert more effort just to keep up with Terry’s standards was the regimen Terry gave him a few days ago.

Terry gave Illis a piece of paper. “Go and read it.”

 

Illis looked at Terry with a questioning gaze. “What’s this paper for, Master?”

 

Terry replied with two words, “Training regimen.”

 

Illis nodded and examined the paper closely, only to widen his eyes from the shock.

Do 1000 sets of squats – 1 hour

Run 10 laps with a weight five times heavier than your body on your back – 30 minutes

Do 500 left-handed and right-handed push-ups – 30 minutes

Dodging session with a weight ten times heavier than your body all over – 1 hour

Break – 30 minutes

Deadlift weights twenty times heavier than your body – 1 hour

Run 1000 km and back for 5 times – 2 hours

Explore the forest and kill as much beasts as possible – 3 hours

Illis’s teeth chattered as he thought of his state after a day of training. He looked at Terry and asked, “M-m-master, I-is this really my training regimen?”

 

Terry frowned. “Eh? You have a problem with that?”

 

Illis hurriedly shook his head. “No! Not at all!”

 

“Well? What are you waiting for? We’re starting the training now!” Terry used his aura to make Illis stand…and throw him far away from the tent.

 

“Start with your squats!”

“Man, within these past few days, Illis has worked really hard,” Terry sighed. If you look at the Illis from before, to the Illis now, you’ll see a huge difference.

 

His muscles were quite obvious, especially on his chest area. It was all streamlined, as if his muscles were meant to be that way.

 

His jet-black hair was slicked back, making him look like a son of an extremely rich family. One of his eyes glowed red, making his face look like an enchanting yet terrifying piece of art.

 

But his one red eye had a reason, Illis wasn’t the one controlling his body at the moment.

 

“Hey Illis. Are you still there?” A voice resounded in his mind.

 

The voice which came from his bloodline, controlled his body, making sure that every part of the regimen was being done. On the other hand, Illis’s consciousness was focused on the recovered memories.

 

“What’s wrong?” The consciousness asked. “Do I have go back and take control?”

 

“I was so close to finding out how to interchange our positions in an instant within my body!” The consciousness said in an annoyed tone.

 

The voice sighed. “I’m already doing this training for you, and you still complain about taking back control? It’s your body!”

 

The consciousness grunted in annoyance. It came closer to where the voice was and took over. The red eye Illis had slowly disappeared, revealing a sky blue iris.

 

He then put the weight he was lifting onto the ground and went to Terry.

 

Tens of minutes later, Terry sees Illis coming close to him. He looked at Illis with a serious gaze, as if there was something on his mind.

 

Illis noticed this and asked, “What’s wrong, Master?”

 

“Illis, your training is now over. We’re going to Transcending Skies City for the tournament,” Terry replied as he packed the tent up in his spatial rift.

 

“Wait a minute!” Illis exclaimed. “Isn’t this a bit too sudden?!”

 

“What do you mean sudden? It has been three days since we started training.” Terry grabbed a golden card out of his spatial rift and threw it towards Illis. “Consume this experience card, it’ll give you more strength.”

 

Illis looked at the card and moved his body backwards in shock. On the card was a giant number 4 on the card. “C-C-Class 4 Experience Card?!”

 

Terry nodded. “Yeah, it’s a Class 4 card. Go and consume it. I’ll protect you as the process happens.”

 

Terry then conjured a barrier around Illis with his light blue aura.

 

Seconds later, the barrier solidified and became hard enough to take hits from Animas at the Platinum Body stage.

 

“You can start now.”

 

Illis nodded and looked at the card. He sat cross-legged on the ground and took a deep breath.

 

He then checked his surroundings to make sure he was safe. After that, he muttered out, “Experience Card Use.”

 

The ever familiar screen popped up in front of Illis’s eyes. He didn’t know why but he felt a source of belonging from the screen.

‘Why would I say no on this one? Of course I pick yes!’ Without any hesitation, he tapped on “Yes” and watched the process happen.

 

The laser from the system grabbed the card Illis was holding and suspended it up in mid-air. Seconds later, the light from the laser intensified, absorbing the pure experience within the card.

 

After that, the laser was retracted, making the former experience card fall to the ground with a soft clang. The laser then aimed towards Illis’s body, beaming all of the pure experience it absorbed, starting the nourishing process.

After what seemed to be an hour, another boom resounded out of Illis’s body, this time slightly louder. By the time all of the pure experience was absorbed by his body, the laser from the system was retracted, as if it wasn’t there in the first place.

 

He opened his eyes and stood up. He did some basic punches, running, jumping, dodging, and so on. He wanted to see how much he has improved from absorbing the card.

 

Before he continued, Terry sent a message to Illis. “Remember to put in your attributes. Every point counts.”

 

‘Oh yeah! The attribute points!’ Illis exclaimed in his mind. He stood in his place and muttered softly, “Attributes.”

 

Within seconds, the information on his attributes were given by the system.

“Eh? Five points?” Illis tilted his head in confusion. He then looked towards Terry. “Master, why do I have five unused attribute points? Shouldn’t it be four?”

 

Terry explained in a straightforward manner, “Everytime you reach a level divisible by the number 5, you get one more extra point. Will that answer suffice you Illis?”

 

Illis thought about it for a while and nodded. He then looked at his screen and tapped on “Muscle Enhancement.”

Gradually, the genes on Illis’s body were being overwritten with new genetic code, allowing him to unleash greater power.

 

Illis smiled a bit from the process. ‘Man, it has been a while since I did this.’

 

Ten minutes later, the modification process was done. But all of a sudden, his screen lit up, telling him to look at the information given.

“WHAT?!” Terry’s eyes widened from shock. Then it turned into excitement. “Choose World Crusher now! You won’t regret it!”

 

“Eh…Okay I guess?” Illis then tapped on “World Crusher” and let the system do its thing.

“Eh? What?” Illis didn’t expect this to happen at all. He wanted to run away from the laser until Terry said, “Just stay there and let it happen. It won’t hurt at all, trust me.”

 

“But, I don’t want my skin to bu-” Illis was interrupted as the laser fired at his forehead, imprinting an intricate rune within an instant. The rune glowed crimson red, bringing a menacing killing intent to everyone who looks at it.

 

“Eh? It’s done?” Illis was surprised that it was already done. He looked at Terry and asked, “So Master, why did you let me choose the World Crusher perk?”

 

Terry removed the barrier around Illis and replied, “Try saying ‘Identify, World Crusher.’ You’ll see why I let you pick that.”

 

Illis shrugged his shoulders and nonchalantly said, “Identify, World Crusher.”

Illis gasped. “So this is why you told me to choose this?”

 

Terry nodded to express his affirmation. Illis thought about something for a while and decided to ask Terry about it. “Master…is it upgradeable?”

 

Terry nodded again. Illis’s eyes lit up with excitement.

 

“I’m so gonna win the city tournament!”
