Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 68
Transcending Skies City.
Two men landed in front of the entrance of the city. These two were Terry and Illis, who rushed to get here by flying from the forest.
Both of them wiped off the dust from their bodies. Illis then turned towards Terry with a question in mind. “Now that we’re here, where’s the tournament?”
“I remember that the tournament was around here somewhere…” Terry’s eyebrows furrowed as he was focusing on recalling information. Seconds later, his eyes lit up, finding the answer. “I can sense a familiar aura from here, how about we find the person who has it?”
Illis shrugged his shoulders, showing indifference. Terry grabbed Illis by the hand and then went on a small adventure to find the one with that aura.
…
Maxwell sighed. “The tournament is almost starting, and there’s still no sign of Illis.” He looked at Dane. “Can’t you try to find Illis with some sort of radar or something?”
Dane sighed as well. “Sadly, I don’t have that kind of stuff on me. All we can do is hope that luck in on our side and-”
“Heeeeey!” A voice shouted out from afar.
Maxwell looked at the direction where the voice came from. His eyes widened in surprise and excitement.
He could see two people walking towards them. One looked indifferent, while the other one was smiling as it waved its hand left to right to catch attention.
Dane was in disbelief. “Who knew that he would actually-”
Maxwell took a deep breath and shouted loudly. “Illis!” He then ran towards him, giving him a hug.
Dane stayed where he was, sighing dejectedly. ‘Why do my sentences always get cut off?’
…
“It’s been a long time since we met!” Illis said as he was hugging Maxwell.
Maxwell chuckled, “I know right! Do you want to spar later?”
Illis stopped hugging Maxwell and smirked. “Of course I do, but aren’t you afraid of getting hurt from my attacks?”
Maxwell gave a light punch on Illis’s shoulder. “You think you’ve gotten stronger huh? Don’t worry, I’ve also gotten stronger!” He laughed.
Maxwell then looked at the man beside Illis, moving a few steps backward in shock.
He then pointed his forefinger towards the man as he looked at Illis. It was shaking. “I-isn’t this the one we met on the airship?”
Illis nodded as he smiled. “Yep!”
Maxwell then bowed towards the man respectfully. “Maxwell here greets Illis’s master.”
Terry noticed this and chuckled. “I knew I sensed a familiar aura since it came from you. I appreciate the greeting. Also, just call me Sir Crews from now on, I don’t really like the sound of ‘Illis’s master.’”
Maxwell stood up straight and nodded. “Alright then, Sir Crews.”
As that happened, Illis looked around for a bit to see if that man was with Maxwell. Turns out he did come.
“Dane!” Illis shouted out as he ran towards him.
Dane stood where he was as he smiled. “Illis! Glad to see you aga-”
He felt some sort of pressure on him, making it hard for him to breathe. He looked around and saw that it came from a man that was always vividly described to him by Maxwell.
Dane shuddered in fear as he saw the man getting closer to him. He bowed towards the man as he stuttered. “G-G-Greetings to S-S-Sir Crews!”
Terry heard this and looked at Dane eye to eye. Dane look at Terry’s eyes and shivered.
Both of Terry’s eyes held a killing intent that could easily make one’s mind go insane. It also held the sight of worlds being destroyed in one attack.
Seconds later, that sight went away from Terry’s eyes, revealing a kind smile. “Thank you for taking care of Illis before I took him as my disciple.”
“Ah?” Dane became dazed. “Oh. Yes, yes. It was of a small matter to me.”
Terry then grabbed Illis by the shoulder as he looked at his surroundings. “We’ll go and find the area for the tournament. See you later.”
Maxwell took a step forward and said, “Actually, we were planning to go there since there’s only a few hours left before it starts.”
“If you don’t mind Sir Crews, Illis as well, do you want to join us as we walk towards the tournament area?”
Illis’s eyes lit up with excitement and said, “I do! I do!” He then looked at Terry with a smile. “Master, is it okay for you?”
Terry chuckled and smiled. “Of course, of course there’s no problem. I would be glad to join!”
Dane shivered at the thought. He then looked at Terry with a gaze filled with fear. ‘This guy is really scary. I should stay away from him.’
Terry noticed someone looking at him and saw Dane. “Hm? Is there something wrong?”
Dane stiffened up a bit. He then gave a wry chuckle. “N-nothing at all, Sir Crews. L-l-let’s go to the tournament area.”
…
A few hours later, the four of them found themselves in front of the venue area. Maxwell looked at Illis and said, “Hey Illis, let’s register for the tournament.”
Illis nodded and followed Maxwell to the registration area.
Minutes later, they were greeted with a slightly large holographic screen.
A voice resounded out from the screen. “Welcome to the registration area. Please enter your name and your route of genetic modification.”
Maxwell looked at Illis and said, “I’ll do this first so you get an idea of how to do it.”
Maxwell took a few steps forward, facing the screen. He then said, “Maxwell Aerion, Muscle Enhancement and Energy Manipulation.”
Seconds later, the screen lit up green to signify that Maxwell was successfully registered.
Maxwell went back to where Illis was. “Now you do it.”
Illis nodded and walked towards the screen. He thought about what he was going to say for a while until he looked at Maxwell and said, “I don’t have a surname. What do I do?”
Maxwell’s eyes widened a bit. “You don’t have a surname? Well…” He scratched his head thinking up of an idea. “You could make surname signify the goal you want to aim in life.”
“Hmm…” Illis went into a thinking position for a few minutes. Later, he faced the screen and said the things that was in his mind for his name.
“Illis Dawn, Muscle Enhancement.”
Seconds later, the screen turned green, showing that the registration was successful for Illis. He then walked towards Maxwell, as if nothing interesting happened.
Maxwell looked at Illis and asked with a curious gaze, “Hey Illis. Why did you pick Dawn as your surname?”
“Well…” Illis explained, “I chose Dawn since it has something to do with my goal. I want to stand out amongst others, become someone who’s dazzling. I want to shine brightly in my life so I don’t have regrets.”
He continued, “I may be some insignificant person for now, but soon enough…my name will be known throughout the lands and make everyone stare at me in awe.”
