Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 70
Cheers resounded throughout the arena, filling everyone with the feeling of excitement and vigor. Leon looked at this sight and smiled. ‘This is the reason why I love hosting tournaments.’
He then coughed lightly to get everyone’s attention. “The tournament shall consist of three rounds: a bone age test, a physique test…”
All of a sudden, a glint flashed through his eyes. “…and a duel.”
Instantly, the audience had serious expressions on their faces. It was not rare for serious accidents to pop up on tournaments, death included.
Looking at the audience, he then took a deep breath and said, “We shall now commence the first, the bone age test.”
He continued, “If your bone age does not exceed 19, then you shall pass this one.”
…
Out of nowhere, silent murmurs started to pop up all over the arena.
“Oh no! Our young master is already 20 years of age!”
“Thank goodness! The student we’ve chosen has been nurtured at an early age.”
“Eh? What’s this? 19? What’s that?”
On the other hand, the four had solemn looks on their faces. Terry looked at Maxwell and Illis and asked, “You two don’t have a bone age of over 19 right?”
Maxwell shook his head. “I have already tested my bone age multiple times. I’m sure that my bone age does not exceed 19.”
Terry looked at Illis. “What about y-”
He didn’t continue his question as he saw Illis in a daze. Dane went up to Illis and waved his hand in front of Illis’s face.
“Hello? Erudys to Illis? You there?”
After a few seconds, Illis was jolted back to reality as he laughed wryly. He then sighed dejectedly. “I don’t know my bone age. Turns out that the recovery of my memory didn’t include that.”
The three sighed at the response. They looked at the front of the stage, hoping that Illis wouldn’t disappoint them.
…
Leon asked one of the staff to bring a pillar to the center of the stage. This pillar was the bone age tester. It looked inconspicuous for its function.
He then looked at his holographic screen and checked through the list of participants.
Seconds later, he decided on one participant. He looked at the audience and shouted, “Nerios, please come up to the stage!”
Within a few minutes, a girl came up to the stage as she looked at Leon. “Nerios is now present!”
Leon nodded and then lightly smiled. “Now Nerios, please put your hand on the pillar so we can check your bone age.”
Nerios did what she was told and went up to the pillar. The pillar emanated a chilling aura, bringing the temperature down around it by a few degrees.
Without hesitation, Nerios placed her hand on the pillar as her eyes slightly widened. Instead of feeling a cold thing, the pillar felt warm to the touch. Slowly, numbers circled around the pillar, checking the girl’s genetic code.
The result changed from a three digit number, to a one digit number, and finally ended on a two digit number. Nerios looked at it and she jumped up in excitement.
The number 17.
Leon looked at the happy Nerios and couldn’t help but smile as well. “17 years old, Nerios has passed the first round!”
…
Many numbers could be heard from Leon’s mouth, some perfect for the tournament, and some…not.
“18 years old, passed!”
“19 years old, barely passed!”
“17 years old, passed!”
“22 years old, disqualified!”
“42 years old, wait…why are you even here anyway?!”
It continued until Leon said a special name. “Zelos, please come up on stage!”
The audience went silent rather than cheering on. Zelos stood up from his seat and went up on stage.
He looked at Leon coldly then placed his hand on the pillar.
Seconds later, a number popped up. Leon announced it to the audience. “17 years old, Zelos has passed!”
Zelos then turned around and went back to his seat. There were still no people cheering for him.
Illis’s curiousness got the better of him and asked Maxwell, “Hey Maxwell, why did no one cheer for this Zelos dude?”
Maxwell sighed. “He doesn’t really like noise.”
“Oh…I see.” Illis nodded as he looked towards the stage again.
…
Leon coughed as he announced the next name. “Asura, please come up on stage!”
Many people instantly cheered for Asura, mostly bulky men that had a lot of muscles. Illis saw this and was confused. He looked at Maxwell again.
“Why are these guys cheering for Asura? Are they into that stuff?”
Maxwell’s pupils shrinked in fear. He then waved his hands expressing disagreement. “That’s not the case at all. The reason why these people cheered for Asura is that, they are his friends at some sort of alliance.”
“What alliance?” Illis asked.
“I don’t know the name either, sorry.” Maxwell shrugged.
Asura placed his hand on the pillar, solemnly waiting for the result. Seconds later, the number 18 popped up.
Leon looked at Asura then announced, “18 years old, Asura has passed!”
Asura smiled at Leon and then went back to his seat.
As Illis saw this, he thought, ‘He seems to be a pretty nice guy.’
…
“Tian Auria, please come up on stage!” Leon shouted out, only to be blocked by countless screams of girls later on.
Illis got curious and asked Maxwell again. But before he could ask the question, Maxwell instantly responded. “Tian Auria is handsome. That’s all.”
“Heh…” Illis pouted.
Tian Auria smiled at the audience as he placed his hand on the pillar. A few seconds passed and the result was shown to everyone. They rubbed their eyes, thinking that it was a dream…yet it wasn’t!
Leon stuttered as he announced, “16 years old, T-T-Tian Auria has p-passed!”
Tian Auria grabbed one of his swords, and did a short blade dance before moving back to his seat. This garnered most of the girls’ attention.
Maxwell clicked his tongue. “Tch. Womanizer.”
…
Leon looked through his list and saw that there was around 20 people left. He chose one as he looked at the audience and shouted, “Illis Dawn, please come up on stage!”
Illis heard the call as he pointed at himself. “Eh? Me?”
Maxwell nodded. “Yes, you! Now go down there!” He then pushed Illis closer to the stage.
Illis walked up on the stage, with his legs somewhat shivering. He saw the amount of people that were watching him, that alone was enough to make him nervous.
Leon saw this and coughed lightly to get Illis’s attention. “Please put your hand on the pillar.”
Illis nodded and went closer to the pillar. He then took a deep breath to remove the nervousness. He slowly placed his hand on the pillar, waiting for the results.
The numbers moved on the pillar as it checked Illis’s genetic code.Seconds later, the results came out.
Leon looked at Illis and then the pillar. “Okay. Illis has a bone age of…WHAT?!”
“15 years old?!”
Many gasps were heard all over the arena.
“That’s impossible!”
“He’s too young!”
“How the heck did he get in here?!”
Illis was also in a daze. ‘Eh? I’m only 15 years old?’
Leon took a deep breath and announced, “15 years old, Illis has passed!”
All of a sudden, applause could be heard, cheering for Illis as he walked back to his seat.
The three looked at Illis with surprise. Terry couldn’t help but exclaim, “You didn’t tell us that you were that young!”
Illis nodded furiously as he exclaimed, “I didn’t know that I was that young either!”
