Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 71
A few minutes later, Leon was finally at the end of the list. With a light smile on his face, he announced, “Maxwell Aerion, please come up on stage!”
Maxwell looked at the three and smiled. “I’ll make sure to come back, passing the first test!”
Terry nodded. “Do your best.”
…
After a half minute, Maxwell got up on stage and saw Leon. “Maxwell is now here!” He then bowed towards Leon, showing respect.
Leon nodded and said, “Please put your hand on the pillar.”
Maxwell confidently went closer to the pillar and placed his hand on it. He let the pillar do its work.
He closed his eyes as he reminisced about his past. Two people with slightly shabby clothes took care of him, bringing him up to who he was today.
‘Mother, Father, I surely won’t let you down.’
After a while, the pillar showed its results, coincidentally at the time Maxwell opened his eyes. Maxwell saw this and smiled. He looked at the three as they saw them smiling at him.
Leon then announced, “17 years old, Maxwell has passed!”
Cheers resounded out, making Maxwell feel a bit more confidence as he walked back to his seat.
…
Leon put his forefinger on his lips to signify that the audience should be quiet. Slowly, the arena became deathly quiet, as if a pin dropped would be the loudest thing ever heard.
“Alright, let us start the second test,” Leon nodded at the expressions of the people. “This test will check if your body has been modified enough or not.”
He continued, “If your body does not emanate a bronze aura or greater, then you will be considered to have failed this round!”
Leon then looked at his screen and smiled lightly. The list was renewed yet again with all names shining brightly. He looked at one of the names and pondered for a bit.
‘Hmm…anyways, it wouldn’t hurt to check his prowess right?’
Leon looked at the audience and shouted, “Illis, please come up on stage!”
…
“Eh?!” Illis became wide eyed, he didn’t expect to be the first one to be called. He pointed at himself and looked at Terry and the others.
“You heard my name right? It’s not a dream or something right?”
The three nodded, affiriming that it was not a dream that Illis was called.
Illis stood up from his seat and slowly walked towards the stage. Murmurs could be heard talking about him.
“He’s 15 years old. He shouldn’t be greater than level 6 right?”
“Heh, I’m sure that he just recently attained Bronze Body stage.”
“A young one thinking that he can surpass the heavens in one leap? Hmph!”
Illis heard this but did not mind, all he cared was getting even stronger. And this was a great place to showcase his current strength.
He walked up to the stage and nodded at Leon, signifying that he was ready.
Leon nodded back and said, “Alright Illis. I will use my aura to oppress you. What you’ll do is unleash the strongest aura you can muster to combat against my aura.”
“Do you have any further questions?”
Illis shook his head. “Not at all.”
Leon’s expression turned serious and slowly released killing intent. “Well then, let’s start.”
Taking a deep breath, Leon retracted his aura to surround a few inches around him, since his aura previously covered the arena.
The platinum luster shone brighter, blinding anyone that dared look at it. All of a sudden, it dimmed and charged towards Illis like a tiger.
“[Aura Manipulation: Oppressive Pierce]!”
Within a few breaths of time, the aura was a few meters away from Illis’s body. Illis stood there, with his gaze firm and determined.
In an instant, he let out all of the strength within his body to condense a grandiose aura around his body.
Bang!
The two auras collided, yet instead of piercing through Illis’s aura, it couldn’t move at all. It was firmly stuck on the aura he made.
Leon’s eyes widened slightly as he saw this. ‘This kid may only be 15, but he can already block these kinds of offensive auras!’
The audience were also shocked at the sight. Illis could block Leon’s aura like it wasn’t a problem at all. Out of nowhere, a voice exclaimed, “That’s insane! He’s only 15 years old you know?!”
“Yeah yeah!” another voice couldn’t help but agree.
“This is cheating! Cheating I tell you!” another voice exclaimed, thinking that the test was rigged.
Leon saw this and frowned. “Silence!”
This one word passed through every cell of the man’s body, causing the man to shudder in fear as he sat down.
Leon knew that he used half of his strength in creating that aura, but that aura alone would defeat Gold Body stage Animas in one go.
Finally, the dust settled down from the clash. In an instant, Leon was shocked. The audience except for Terry was shocked as well.
Surrounding Illis’s body was an aura that was bronze in color, yet within held faint silver strands that seemed to emanate even stronger power.
One of the audience members couldn’t help but stand up. Slowly, more and more stood up, not believing the aura that Illis emanated.
Even Dane and Maxwell couldn’t believe it. They looked at Terry with curiosity. He smiled in response. “He did all of the work, I just helped him.”
Leon was in a daze but then went back to reality. He gave a light cough. “Illis has a Half-Silver Body, he has passed the second round!”
Cheers then resounded throughout the arena, even louder than the ones given when Leon announced something.
Illis then deactivated his aura, basking in the applause of the audience. Only with enough strength would everyone cheer in awe!
Leon went closer to Illis and asked, “Since you’re Half-Silver, are you at the 9th level?”
The audience became silent, wanting to know the answer to this question as well.
Illis shook his head. He then responded slowly, “I’m currently level 8.”
Everyone froze in an instant. A level 8 Half-Silver…that was something that only existed in legends!
Illis looked at everyone and sighed. “Since you don’t believe me…System, show my level to everyone.”
Within a few seconds, a laser beamed out from the system, displaying a few words that made everyone believe Illis.
——–
Illis
Level: 8
Experience: 750/8000
——–
Illis then made the system retract the laser as he looked at Leon. “Do you believe now?”
Leon nodded in a nervous manner. “The system d-doesn’t lie at all. Y-yes, I believe you.”
Illis smiled and then turned around to walk back to his seat.
Everyone was looking at him with seriousness, while some looked at him with evil intent.
“Heh. We’ll face off later Illis,” a voice said.
Leon coughed to gain back the attention of the audience and announced, “Next participant!”
