Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 72
In the Memory Desert, three people were fighting.
“[Extremity Burst]!”
A body flew a few dozen meters away relative to Shi Li’s body. It was charred all over, yet it still had a flame of vitality.
It stood up and dusted off the charred bits. “Yan Qiu, bind him with your dao!”
Yan Qiu, who was still grieving over his broken whip, was finally jolted back to reality. He looked at his brother then looked at Shi Li.
“Guess I have no choice huh?” Yan Qiu instantly had a serious expression on his face and started to release his dao.
Gradually, a golden snake just like the one on his brother’s manifested behind him, yet it was bounded by shackles. It tried to break the chains by moving its big body in many directions, yet its struggle was in vain.
The golden snake was absorbed by Yan Qiu in an instant, unlike his brother. The iris changed to a golden yellow, with three black circles surrounding each pupil.
Shi Li looked at this indifferently. He was thinking of a way to recover more of his memories at the moment.
Yet all of a sudden, Yan Qiu started to dash towards Shi Li. Thick golden chains the size of Shi Li’s arms materialized on Yan Qiu’s hands as he got closer.
‘Hopefully this works,’ Yan Qiu couldn’t help but mutter out inwardly.
He vanished from Shi Li’s plain sight and appeared behind him. He then waved the golden chains downwards, aiming at Shi Li.
“[Dao of the Constricted Yellow Snake: Golden Shackle]!”
The golden chains got closer and closer to Shi Li’s body as they encircled him, yet these chains couldn’t get any closer.
“Huh?” Yan Qiu frowned. He looked at his chains seriously, the chains were of middle Dao grade since it was materialized from his own dao. But it still wouldn’t touch Shi Li’s body at all!
He examined Shi Li’s body and was shocked to see a faint yet dense qi barrier covering Shi Li.
Shi Li, who was still in a daze, finally came back to reality and looked at Yan Qiu. He then looked at the golden chains that were trying to breach his barrier.
In an instant, Shi Li had a smug look on his face. “You thought you would be able to bind me with your weak dao? In that case, die!”
He activated his force multiplier to the maximum simultaneously with the Flowing Waves technique. He then condensed his qi onto his left hand, conjuring a qi javellin that had an extremely penetrative force on its tip.
“[Grand Qi Force], fourth movement, [Spiralling Javellin]!”
He then threw the qi javellin towards Yan Qiu, who was shocked at the speed of the javellin coming at him.
Without hesitation, he recalled his golden chains and used it to defend from the attack.
In an instant, the javellin collided with the chains, pushing Yan Qiu back by a few meters.
Gradually, the force the javellin held weakened, disintegrating in the end. Yan Qiu looked at this and smiled, even though his chains were slightly broken. “Hah! I blocked your atta-”
He felt a chill on his back, which made him turn around. He then looked up, seeing Illis with his fist contracted, along with many layers of qi over it.
Illis punched out towards Yan Qiu, aiming to kill him in one move.
“[Grand Qi Force], third movement, [Distant Blow: Hundred Fist Annihilation]!”
Yan Qiu couldn’t help but stand in place and look at the oncoming fist in a daze. He knew he was gonna die for sure. He truly regretted this decision.
‘Even if Shi Li had amnesia, he would still be able to kill us,’ he chuckled lightly, as he already accepted his fate.
100 fists at the power level of Illis’s maximum hit Yan Qiu’s body in unison, turning his sturdy body into multiple chunks of flesh and blood.
Yan Xiu, who was still running back, saw this and screamed in sorrow. “YAN QIU!”
He looked at Shi Li with an even stronger killing intent than before. Shi Li noticed this and looked at him. “So you want to avenge your dead brother?” Shi Li taunted.
“Then come.”
Yan Xiu made a cut on his arm all of a sudden. Blood started to spurt out of the wound, yet it didn’t fall on the ground. It levitated around his body, and surged towards his eyes.
His pupils shrinked as his irises slowly turned blood red. A few seconds later, the wound closed up as his eyes were now blood red, with hints of gold around it.
Shi Li saw this and became more vigilant. He didn’t know what Yan Xiu did, but he was sure that this attack was gonna be stronger than the others.
Yan Xiu then charged towards Shi Li with his jaw open. The fangs he had turned blood red as well. It was glowing with a faint green light.
Shi Li didn’t dare stare at him in a daze, as he prepared his own counterattack against him. But all of a sudden, he gained an enlightment on something.
Gradually, Yan Xiu got closer and closer to Shi Li’s body as the light on the fangs intensified. With the light reaching its limit, he infused most of his blood on the light, strengthening it even further.
He then fired the light towards Shi Li, turning into a blood red and green beam that had the might of multiple golden snakes.
“[Yellow Snake Annihilation Art: Crimson Venom Pierce]!”
In an instant, it reached Shi Li’s body…and passed through it.
“What?!” Yan Xiu was shocked as he fell to the ground. He lost a lot of blood from that single attack.
Gradually, the Shi Li in front of him dissipated, leaving him a view of the Memory Desert.
“Was it all a mirage?” He couldn’t help but mutter out.
Yet he didn’t expect that someone would respond at his question. “No, it wasn’t.”
He looked behind him and saw Shi Li standing there nonchalantly. He couldn’t help but weakly exclaim, “That can’t be!”
Shi Li lightly smiled. “Oh yes, it can. Now die.”
He punched at Yan Xiu’s chest with full power, forming a huge hole. Gradually, Yan Xiu fell to the ground as he looked at Shi Li.
He sensed that his vitality was weakening by the second, so before he reached his end, he muttered out, “Shi Li…the Yan clan…will aim to kill you…”
Shi Li heard this and his eyes widened slightly. He then nodded seriously. “I know. I’ll be prepared.”
“That’s…good…” Yan Xiu smiled until his last breath. Yan Xiu and Yan Qiu’s body were going to be left here, only remaining as a memory.
Shi Li closed their eyes with his fingers and solemnly said, “May you rest in peace.”
He then turned around and looked at his map, walking towards the exit of the Memory Desert.
…
“It has been a few days since Shi Li left,” a voice couldn’t help but sigh. This voice came from Cai Luiyin, the one that Shi Li helped on avenging her clan.
She grabbed her hair, pulling on it madly. “Argh! Why didn’t I stop him from leaving?! I’m so stupid!”
After a while, she stopped and sighed dejectedly. “If only he came back.”
“Well I’m here, aren’t I?” a voice responded.
Cai Luiyin tensed up and looked behind her. She saw a smiling Shi Li. He waved towards her.
“Yo.”
Cai Luiyin rubbed her eyes to make sure it wasn’t a dream. Seconds later, tears started to form around her eyes as she ran towards Shi Li to hug him.
“Wuwuwu…Shi Li, I’m glad you’re back!” she cried out as she hugged him tighter.
Shi Li looked at his current situation and couldn’t help but smile. He then comforted her. “There, there. Don’t worry, I won’t go anywhere now.”
…
A few minutes later, Cai Luiyin released Shi Li from her grasp and looked at him. “Why did you leave me?”
Shi Li chuckled as he scratched his head. “I wanted to recover my memory, and it seems that it worked. Don’t you think so, Luiyin?”
Hearing her name being called by Shi Li, she couldn’t help but jump in joy. “Does that mean…all of your memories are recovered?!”
Shi Li shook his head. “No, I haven’t.”
He then got closer and said seriously, “And this is why I’m gonna need your help.”
Hey, Truedawn here.
Thanks for reading my novel as always.
Oh yeah, Shi Li’s awake now, like around 14 chapters ago. Good for him. Next chapter, we’ll be panning back to Illis’s point of view.
Power stones are greatly appreciated! OvO
