Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 87
Transcending Skies Arena.
Leon looked at Illis with a serious face. “The next tournament shall take place in a kingdom.”
Illis scratched his head. “So what does that have to do with me reaching the Platinum Body stage?”
Leon frowned as he faced Illis. “A kingdom is way bigger than a city like this. That means your opponents have more resources to become extremely strong!”
He continued, “All of your opponents may not be strongest, but with the amount of training and resources they have, they would crush you in an instant at your state.”
He then took a deep breath as he asked, “Now do you understand?”
Illis nodded. “I understand.”
Terry stood up from where he was and walked towards Illis. Putting his arm over Illis’ shoulder, he glanced at Leon and grinned. “Well, we shall be off as this disciple of mine needs to train!”
Leon stood up straight in an instant as he saw Terry come. He nodded and smiled back. “I see, I see. Then I won’t hinder you any further.”
Terry pushed Illis on his back as they walked out of the arena.
“Master, why did you push me away from there?” Illis asked.
Terry let out an awkward chuckle. “Well, I have to tell you something secret but I don’t want others to know.”
Illis understood what his master was saying. Some secrets should be left known only by a few. “So what do you want to tell me?”
“Let’s save that for later, we should first find a place for you to train in.”
After their walk which seemed to last like forever, they finally stood in front of a house.
The house seemed out of place for where it was. It was surrounded by trees and shrubs, giving the house a mysterious feel. The materials used were mostly stone and wood, making it look like something made in the medieval times.
As they entered, a few amenities were shown in front of them. A table and chair was placed beside the only window, the reason being the window was the only source of light. A wooden bed was placed opposite of the table and chair, with it having a mattress made of feathers and a blanket ash-gray in color.
Illis looked at this and glanced at Terry. “Master, where are we?”
“My house,” Terry smiled.
Terry went towards the only chair and took a seat. He looked at Illis with a warm smile as he pointed to the bed. “Go and sit there.”
Illis followed his master’s orders and sat down. The mattress seemed to adjust to Illis’ bottom, making him feel more comfortable.
“So Master, what do you want to tell me?”
Terry looked at his surroundings and sighed. He stood up and came closer to Illis.
Illis observed this with curiosity as Terry placed his hand over Illis’ head.
“Master, what?”
“Shhh,” Terry placed one of his fingers over his mouth. “The herb in your brain has accumulated enough energy. I’ll use it to recover your memory again.”
Illis’ eyes lit up as he closed his mouth, not daring to say a word. Terry focused on his hand and directed his aura towards the herb.
Little by little, the energy within the herb was extracted, turning into a fluid-like substance within Illis’ brain.
With his aura, the energy was spreaded to many parts of Illis’ brain, clearing up the fog.
In a few moments, more and more memories were being recovered, surprising Illis greatly.
‘Qi is an energy invisible to the naked eye, yet usable by anyone with an affinity to it.’
‘Compressing it into a smaller space increases its purity and power.’
‘When the qi has compressed to a high enough density, it shall burst out with a power multiple times stronger than the qi being uncompressed.’
‘That is the idea of the first movement of [Grand Qi Force], [Extremity Burst].’
Illis skimmed through his newfound memories, which brought him a lot of questions to ask.
He looked at Terry and asked, “Master, what is qi?”
Terry retracted his hand from Illis’ head and sat back on the chair. “It’s that thing you used in the tournament before. An energy that holds limitless potential.”
“And well” he sighed. “It’s also connected to your whole being.”
Illis’ eyes twitched. He couldn’t believe it. “Master, are you saying I’m some sort of special Anima that can use qi?”
“Well…yes and no. Let me ask you first, can you feel some sort of invisible thread tugging on your brain?” Terry looked at Illis.
Illis closed his eyes and attempted to feel the thread his master was talking about. To his surprise, he felt something pulling on the back part of his brain.
He opened his eyes and nodded at Terry. “Indeed I do, Master. It’s on the back part of my brain. Does it have any significance?”
Terry shook his head as he sighed. ‘I knew it. Illis is one of them.’
“Since you’ve recovered more of your memories, your brain resonates more and more with something, achieving a connection with that something through an infinite distance,” Terry said with a stern face.
Illis looked through his memories and nodded. After Terry used the herb’s energy to recover more of his memory, 10% of it was unlocked. He didn’t know when it happened, but a faint connection started to form with the thing Terry said.
“So what are you trying to say, Master?” Illis wanted to know.
“This is the thing that I wanted to tell you a while ago.”
“You’re not who you think you are.”
