Great Tyrannical Deity - Chapter 92
“Let me explain to you how clones are made,” Terry said.
He went through his memories for a bit before taking a deep breath.
“Let us start from the beginning. Clones are copies of our original bodies which could differ in terms of strength or specialty.”
“Now there are two ways of creating a clone: Through splitting your soul onto a natural vessel or through drinking essence of a humanoid creature.”
Shi Li’s eyes slightly widened hearing the last few words. “W-what happens when you drink essence?”
One of Terry’s eyebrows raised up with intrigue. “Oh?”
“Well, when you drink essence, the essence extracts your genetic code and reforms it so it fits that certain race. It also extracts part of your soul to stabilize the creation of the clone. Why do you ask?”
Shi Li trembled in fear hearing those words. His head started to ache as he recalled it, but he remembered drinking something that made him grow weaker as time passed.
“What if that person continues to do strenuous activities after drinking the essence?”
Terry pondered for a bit before replying, “In this case, the essence collects genetic code that could be classified as the person in its peak form. But this comes with disadvantages. If the person can’t maintain their peak form throughout the process, they lose strength at a rapid rate and in the end, either fall into a coma or worst case scenario, die.”
After hearing Terry’s answer, Shi Li let out a sigh. He could remember that he fell into a coma after a long fight. Looking at Terry, he said, “Master, is [Essence of the Anima] considered an essence for the creation of a clone?”
Terry nodded. “Yes, it is. In fact, it’s one of the top picks for clone essence if you want to make a mana clone.”
“A mana clone? What’s that?” Shi Li asked.
“I forgot to tell you a while ago. There are actually three types of clones, each being one path of strengthening. The first type is a qi clone, as it embarks the path of qi cultivation. The second type is a mana clone, it embarks the path of genetic modification. And lastly, the aether clone, which embarks the path of aether incantations.”
“The mana clone is said to be the best first pick on making your first clone as it is said to only rely to the aptitude of your physical body.”
Shi Li understood what Terry was saying. He then pointed at Illis. “So this means Illis a mana clone?”
“Correct. In fact, I’m a mana clone as well,” Terry nodded.
Hearing this, Shi Li was shocked. Illis looked at Terry and exclaimed, “Master, does that mean that the reason why you didn’t find your family is because you were a clone all along?”
Terry awkwardly chuckled. “Haha…that is the case.” He looked at Shi Li. “Anyways, you said something about [Essence of the Anima]. Well, our race is called the Animas.”
“Wait a minute. Does that mean you’re not from here?” Shi Li couldn’t help but ask.
“That is indeed the case. We come from a world named Erudys, an extremely advanced world that is,” Terry sighed.
After a while, Terry frowned as he looked at Shi Li. “But still, I can’t believe that you drank clone essence at the Qi Creation realm! Don’t you know that it’s dangerous? You could’ve died, you know!”
Shi Li looked downwards. “Well, the bottle it came in said that it could enhance my mental capabilities”
“Enhance mental capabilities? Bah! That’s all a lie since the aim of the bottle was to lure you into drinking it!”
“EH?!” Shi Li couldn’t believe it. In an instant, he went down on his knees dejectedly. “I feel like an incredibly big fool.”
Terry looked at this and sighed. “Well, at least the cloning was successful. I would’ve been worried if this disciple I had was actually a rogue clone.”
“But what does cloning have to do with the amnesia?” Shi Li thought about it.
“Since you were still at the lower realms of cultivation, your brain couldn’t handle the stress and in turn, removed your memories so it could allow some leeway for the creation of the clone,” Terry explained.
He continued, “It’s not a total removal of memories, but rather, locking them. That’s why you could still recover your memories after all these. Anyways, it would only take a few days for your memories to fully recover, since Illis is near you.”
“With him near you, the fog within your brain will dissipate naturally and you’ll both be able to have your memories recovered.”
“I see,” Shi Li replied. “But does that mean that he has always to be beside me for my memories to recover? Can’t I put him in some sort of pocket world as my memories recover?”
Terry’s eyes lit up. “You have a pocket world?”
Shi Li nodded. “It was a fortuitous encounter.” He then commanded, “Xiao Hei, come out.”
Within a breath of time, a black sphere materialized in front of their eyes. It then slowly reformed itself, transforming into a small bird.
After a while, the bird spoke. “Master, what do you need? Xiao Hei is here to help you out.”
Terry gasped in surprise. “Is this guy a relic spirit?”
Shi Li lightly smiled as he looked at Xiao Hei. “Xiao Hei is a relic spirit. A spirit of a relic that contains a pocket world. Now Master, would a pocket world allow us to continue recovering our memories even if Illis doesn’t show up?”
Terry repeatedly nodded with a smile on his face. “Yes, yes. It’s possible. As long as the energy within the pocket world is the same as what Illis can use, then it can work.”
Shi Li looked at Illis and said, “Illis, don’t resist okay?”
Illis nodded with a wide smile. “Un, Father!”
Shi Li staggered a bit. “Why Father? Oh well.”
“Xiao Hei, bring Illis into the pocket world.”
Xiao Hei, who was still a black bird, heard Shi Li’s orders and teleported Illis into the relic’s pocket world.
Shi Li instantly sent a message to Illis. “Don’t absorb the energy yet, let me prepare it for you first.”
After a while, Illis responded. “Okay~”
Shi Li looked at Terry and said, “Master, please show the energy that the Animas use.”
Terry heard this and nodded. Within less than a second, a pale blue strand hovered above Terry’s palm, as if it was a finely crafted crystal.
“Xiao Hei, copy the energy you see and change the qi within the pocket world into that energy.”
Xiao Hei followed Shi Li’s orders and changed the energy within the pocket world into the pale blue strand of energy.
Within an instant, Illis sent a message to Shi Li. “Father, I don’t know how you did it but I’m gaining 1 experience per second!”
Shi Li was perplexed. He looked at Terry and said, “Master, Illis said that he was gaining 1 experience per second. What energy did you show anyway?”
Terry grinned. “Pure experience.”
Afterwards, he said to Shi Li, “Remember that I told you that I know about the [Art of True Omnipotence].”
He then waved his hand. “Follow me.”
“Where to?” Shi Li asked.
Terry took a deep breath before replying.
“My original body.”
